In a world of opportunity and a time of uncertainty, men and women try to earn not only a way for themselves, but forge a name into the stone of time. By so doing they hope to forever be remembered and that their accomplishments stand as a testament to their power and might. In this time heroes were born and slain as though it were but a phase of the moon. Many a great warrior fell in battle, many a wise mage did fall pray to the lust of their own ambition and many a cunning rogue did dig too great a pit for them to escape from. For while tis was a time of great heroes, it was also a time of might and terrifying villains. Great evil wizards, horrifying dragons, and fierce monsters never named did rise up in this time as well. So as men and women pit their prowess against the might of evil we can only hope that they can find a way to succeed, for the good of us all.

[This is a classic fantasy adventure RolePlay. Back in the days when vampires were horrible monsters that were killed by the heroes and even if there was a demon, they were the end boss and such. Angels were in heaven and there wasn't all the attempts at making brand new character concepts that have sense become the repetitive cliché. Back when the objective was to build your character up to being heroes, and not simply create them already half way there. Time to get back to the roots of it all, which have long been forgotten by most, but not all.]

Oh! Thank you. ^///^
Also, quick question:
Can the aspiration sound a bit....silly? I'm sorry if this seems like an odd question; it's just that my character seems to be a little strange. It wouldn't be as stupid as it sounded, I promise. >.<

It's alright. Depending on what it is they may or may not get a shot at it, but it just shows something about your character, so yes it can be silly.

Name: Malark

Race: Human

Class: untrained

Age: 18

Title: none

Weapons: He only uses his own body for combat and, if needed, things he can find around him.

Apparel: He will wear whatever is available to him, even if it looks ridiculous. Usually, this means his adoptive grandfather's button-up, white collared shirt and rolled up blue-cotton suspenders, (both of which he takes meticulous
measures to keep clean.)

Misc.: (none to be noted here at the time)

Skills: Malark, although it may not seem like it, has the raw talent of a hand to hand combat fighter. Unfortunately, he lacks the apparent skill and discipline to harness his full potential. He also makes a mean blueberry pancake.

Appearance:
(Purple prose added for dramatic effect.)
Malark’s boyishly handsome face and dimples would the envy of any country-bumpkin. His sun-kissed body and slim, lean physique can only be the result of hours spent out on the family farm plowing, gardening, and caring for animals from dusk until dawn. His face is framed by natural, wavy brown hair (with a reddish-golden tinge in it), that goes down to the bottom of his ears and caresses the top of his nape. Not to be outdone, his sky-blue eyes hold a brilliant shine to them as if being lit up the sun itself, even in the darkest of rooms. Yes, physically, Malark can be compared to a summer’s day, and a blossoming red rose, or any other poetic analogy….; the perfect dream man, and gentleman, attractive to both men and women alike….
So, how is it that he still manages to send every female in a 3-mile radius running for the hills?

Personality:
Malark is a nice guy. Really. It’s just that sometimes he can be a little….pushy. He has good intentions, sure, but usually his eccentric mannerisms and….occational self “pep-talks” can leave people staring… Who wants to deal with a manic-depressive with super-human strength? No matter how many times he may ask -nay-, plead, no one is going to be his friend until he puts the pitch-fork down. This is, of course, the price you pay for isolation in the countryside, (well, that, and maybe being dropped on the head a few times as a baby.)

Bio.:
Although Malark doesn’t know his real parents, he is content to call his current guardians (‘Ma’ and ‘Pa’) his family. After all, they were the ones that opened up the door of their humble country home to him and took him in as their own. There, he spent most of his time caring for his adoptive guardians (who, in their elderly state, could hardly care for themselves,) and their farmland. After Malark’s 18th birthday, Ma and Pa kicked him out and told him to go and make the most of his youth; make friends, find a nice girlfriend, and, most importantly, to have, at least one, worth-wile adventure.

Aspirations: To make friends.

------------------------

Is this alright?

Name: Kazuko Narushi
Race: Elf
Class: Fighter
Age: 156
Title: Currently N/A.

Weapons: A steel hand and a half sword, with a rough leather crossguard and wooden pommel, in addition to a smaller, slightly rusting, iron dagger which is on her person at all times.

Apparel: At all times, Kazuko clothes herself in a plain cotton shirt, which lies beneath a light leather cuirass. She wears this like a second skin; it was, in all truths, made for someone a little taller, but it functions well enough now that she's had it changed a little to suit her feminine figure. In addition to this, she also wears a pair of dark brown, tough calico trousers which cling to her legs.
A pair of rough brown leather boots come up to her knees, and a matching pair of fingerless leather gloves are often donned when required. Upon her brow is a cloth headband stained dark with sweat; at her hip is a similar band, though this is used to attach her knife to. When she doesn't have her cuirass on, she instead wears a thick leather belt around her waist.

Misc: Currently N/A.

Skills: A rather skilled swordswoman, though there is some room for improvement. She's also a pretty fair athlete and horse-rider.

Appearance: Tall for a woman, though slightly shorter than average in concern to her people as a general, Kazuko has the traditional hourglass figure, though she often conceals it beneath her armour. Her limbs are long, slender and sinuous, her waist slim, and her breasts and hips are full.
Her skin is a mixture of calloused hardness, and silken softness; pale in some places, and tanned in others. Freckles dance over her face, upper arms and torso, though they are subtle and not particularly noticeable until a certain point of closeness.
A mane of long, thick hair falls down to just below her shoulder-blades, blue-black in colour; it is intense in the summer sunlight. She normally wears it pulled back by the cotton headband, and ties it back when training.
Feature-wise, she is somewhat attractive, though the alien beauty of the elves ruins this somewhat for humans and suchlike. Her face is heart-shaped, though her cheekbones are high and pronounced to the extent that her cheeks appear hollowed out, in a regal manner. Her jawline is rather bony, though not a lot of her can be described as 'fat' anyway, and her nose is finely crafted. It curves from a childhood accident involving a shovel and her face, though, if anything, this makes her even more noble in bearing and appearance. Eyes the colour of living gold glower out from beneath dark, thin brows, and they are often shadowed by a brooding glare. Her lips are nicely shaped, though not a defining feature. All in all, she's pretty enough to gain attention, but far too fearsomely beautiful to make anyone approach her with that intent.

Personality: Passionate; in love, in hate, in anger, in jealousy, and in greed. She strives to make her wishes come about - whether they be short term or long term, and her stubbornness is second to none in the settlement. Despite this, she does have a tender side, especially concerning animals, and children. Patience may not be one of her virtues, but she is willing to spend time with either, to either tend to wounds, or settle a row.
In addition to her impatience, she is also very unpredictable and unruly. She can be anti-social with regards to other adults, though she is perfectly content to be around them should they not stare; as well as passionate, she is extraordinarily vain and proud about her appearance. Cold towards strangers, and distant for some time, she does not have a lot of friends, though she acts like they are unnecessary for her. For a bitch, she's quite a romantic.

Bio: Born into an average elven family, Kazuko was named after the Eagle constellation she was born under, and raised like any other elven child. However, as she neared puberty, she began to display extremely un-elflike bouts of violence. Using a gifted dagger to threaten other children with was reported and considered unacceptable, and, by the time she was sixteen (in elven years) this had escalated to the point where her clan decided it was time for her to leave.
This she managed with little ill-feeling, and instead took refuge in a human settlement not far from the forest in which she'd grown up. They welcomed her with a little suspicion, though when she expressed interest in training with him, the sword-master accepted graciously. So she has gone on, training with anyone who will have her - though problems often resulted with her many trainers, meaning she was forced to move from town to town to find somebody who was okay with her abrupt changes.
Having been in training now for eight years with the same master, and feeling that she might just have a chance at life, Kazuko has finally completed her first apprenticeship, and is eager to go on to learn more - and maybe have an adventure along the way.

Aspirations: She longs to be famed by humans and elves alike; she wishes to become a paladin knight, and to live a daring life full of adrenaline and ancient ruins. She also wants to tame her passion, and find the disciplined calmness inside herself to fully 'be at one' (ew, cliché) with both her sword and herself.

Hm... Y'know what? I think I might go ahead and join this. As one of my rare female characters, too... *sweatdrop*

Name: Naivara Lucryne
Race: Half-Elf
Class: Warlock
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Title: n/a
Weapons: Typically uses magic, which she channels through a scythe. Which can also be used as a conventional weapon, of course. Not that she's very good at swinging that thing around...
Apparel: Black cloak. Black leather armor. Black boots. Black gloves. She happens to like the color black. She always wears black clothes, but those black clothes sometimes include a bit of silver in them.
Misc: n/a
Skills: Naivara uses magic as her main form of combat. This magic originates from stars, so many of her tactics involve using starlight. But gazing at the stars too much can do strange things to one's mind, so her magic also involves attacking the minds of her foes with terrifying illusions.
Appearance: Naivara is of an average height, but she's certainly underweight. A bit on the bony side, really. She looks very frail. But her face is quite pretty, and she has violet eyes and long black hair. She's not very graceful, but she has a good sense of balance and doesn't often stumble.
Personality: Naivara is quite the intellectual person. She is constantly studying one thing or another, taking down notes in a little black notebook she carries with her at all times. She obsessively stargazes, and interrupting her while she is doing so will earn you a glare and quite possibly a painful bolt of starlight from her. She loves to hear the secrets of people and places being told, but trying to get her to repeat what she has learned is like trying to pry open a reluctant oyster. She doesn't like telling what she knows. But she always records it in her notebook, so if you manage to get that from her, you'll learn many, many things. That being said, you're likely to get your head blown off if you try taking her notebook away from her. She never lets anyone else touch it.
Bio: Naivara was born in a small village on the outskirts of a forest. Her mother was an elf and her father was a human. After her birth, her mother abandoned her with her father. Her father never spoke of her mother, so she knows nothing about her.

When she was a child, no one in the village would play with her. The children hated her because of her mixed blood, and the adults never had time for a silly child like her. It was a lonely existence, but during that time she mastered the art of listening. She would just sit in the town square and listen to people as they spoke to one another. She began seeing this as a form of entertainment, and she started writing down all of the interesting things she heard. Then she started asking questions, trying to pick every last detail she could out of the people she spoke to. But they were reluctant to tell her anything, and she soon became bored of life in the village. She left, traveling to a larger city where there were many more things to be learned.

In her quest for knowledge, she found herself at an academy for wizards. She apprenticed herself to one of the elders there, and she was an avid student. But she quickly became bored with the dogmatic ways of the wizards there, and she left once again. But she'd learned some skills from her apprenticeship, and she used those skills to get a handhold on the wrong side of the law. She joined a group of bandits, who she discovered had quite the knack for learning the goings-on in the city. Her time with them taught her many useful skills, but she soon grew bored again and continued along her way.

She happened to meet a warlock next, and the warlock's method of using magic appealed to her greatly. This warlock studied the stars, which one could never know too much about. There were always new discoveries to be found up in the heavens, and the accumulation of these discoveries led to greater power. Naivara quickly agreed to learn this form of magic, making a pact with the unseen beings that are rumored to live beyond the stars. After she left the warlock's home, she began to travel again, and she has continued to study the heavens.
Aspirations: To learn every secret.

Yeah... I hope magic users are okay. In D&D 4e terms, Naivara is a Star-Pact Warlock. So her abilities and such are based off that.

EDIT: I take one minute to post and ... a billion characters appear! XD What. A. Team! D|:

Name: Peribelle Jackdaw

Gender: Female technically, but I think Bush-baby is more apt... at least from looking at her...

Race: Human

Class: Self Proclaimed Practitioner of Minor Magic

Age: 16

Title: ----

Weapons: Boots for kicking and a stolen Oak Staff, complete with dried monkeys paw bound disturbingly to the top.. ... for bashing mostly... and making things go ‘BANG’ accidentally... she pinches it from her Witchdoctor grandmother on regular basis.

It earns her a good clipping ‘round the ear, but the light shows and irregularities are worth it.

Apparel:
Dressed to impress... well .... at least today! She attempts to come across as the big, bad voodoo queen like her grand nana; donning tassels, lace, violently-vibrant colours and worn dark leather gloves, boots and corsets—--you can imagine the cheesy, overdressed sorts!
She’s been collecting and stitching these things for years; top that off with a cherry-on-the-cake, moth eaten, black hat and you have yourself her pièce de résistance!

... And a ... um ... grey, itchy travelling cloak crammed with utmost unloving into her pack... she needed to hide The Staff in SOMETHING when she was leaving...

Misc: A pipe— but no tobacco—apparently it’s a good conversation starter and a decorative little coin purse homing that weeks wages.

Skills: Some cookery, can sew and mend like the Gods have gifted her with it, a little bit of charmer—well in the lower class circles (come on, she’s worked behind the counter all of her life! She's got to have some experience of these things! XD) and knows SOME spells... whatever her grand nana could sneak her under her mother’s nose, glowy lights and fixing scraped knees, but outside of that not much...

Appearance: (SKETCH COMING SOON)

She’s a small, spindly creature, about 5’5 in height, all ends and angles, ending in either bony digits or an explosion of dark hair apparently reminiscing of a long lost meeting with an electric current or imitating birds’ nests for fun.

Peri has what is conventionally labelled ‘CUTE’ ... if not 'GANGLY' or 'BUG EYED' features, having not yet grown out of her baby ones; big, black, saucer eyes, a small, flat nose, lips that aren’t so bad once they stop moving and an entire artillery of freckles.

Personality:
Cocky, short fused and violently tempered, stubborn, backwards and generally difficult, good humoured, excitable, daring to a fault, a tiny bit of an adrenaline junky, hot headed, doesn’t know when to shut her yapper, doesn’t know her limits, but altogether outstandingly caring and loyal. She has fierce sense of friendship and an even stronger sense of family, problems tend to arise when others don’t share those values... O.o

Bio:
Raised on a staple diet of her Grand Nana’s adventure, magic and mother-please-stop-telling-my-daughter-that-tripe stories, Perri grew herself a monster of an imagination and a beastly wad of wanderlust, which her growing up on the shop floor of a 'Sweet Meats and other Treats' store, fed on the stories of the customers.

Never satisfied with the small town happenings, she started sneaking in to the local Tavern as soon as she could manage it, if only to bear witness to REAL adventurers and their wonderful, marvellous stories! Sneaking booze wasn't a down side either... but hush!

Her mother always tried to put her off, for fear she’d ever desire to go down that route! All she wanted was a happy, stable life for her girl... so like any good and proper teenage girl, this naturally made her ten times more determined to follow in her Grand Nana’s footsteps!

She’s been sneaking lessons from her (who according to her father is only hanging on to life still to spite them all... (he announces in front of the toothless, old creature)...) on her weekends off and been practicing and daydreaming for as long as she can remember!

Ask her to do her Awesome Spell Casting Pose, just ask her!

Aspirations: She's itching to become a great mage or a voodoo priestess or a dragon slayer or something, ANYTHING! She wants her name in stone, to become a legend of the ages!

To be honest, she's half trying to make up for the last miserable portion of her grand Nana's life. It wasn't just her food the parents were cutting up when she was little, put it that way... She doesn't know it, but her mother sees it. She thinks the old woman has guilted the girl into wanting to risk her life ... it's really quite a depressing situation... Not that Perri knows any sodding difference!

I have my own little aspirations for Perri! I want to watch her grow up! Cross my fingers this RP lasts as long! :P ^^

TESCOS, quite amusing and nice. I like it.

Butler, -Gasp- I don't believe it! a female!!! There is two things though. The form and detail is lovely, but I'd like to keep warlock as something she builds up to, (I'd suggest something similar to a dark mage at starting. >.> ) perhaps building up and planning to become a warlock in the future. And sense I'm really tired I won't scream and yell for you having brought up that abomination they tried to pass off as D&D.
And secondly is I think that the scythe is another thing that seems a bit specialized to start off with, we want kind of basics for them at this stage after all. But I really do like the character as a whole. (sorry I missed your post earlier i was kind of in a hurry.)

As for the rest, my body is screaming at me so I'm going to take a bath, then I'll put the IC thread up because we have all the characters I need to start.

Well, she's an amateur warlock. And her magic isn't exactly dark magic, so I'd be reluctant to call her a dark mage or anything of the sort. As for the scythe, she's not exactly good at using the thing. Mostly she just carries it around to look intimidating. *shrugs* But if I really need to change things, then let me know.

Ok, well if you really want to keep it as is Butler, then feel free. Like I said, I'm going to be trying to run this classic, but This is also going to be more free formed than what I usually do, so yeah, you can feel free to.

Ever: if you want to bust him down to beginning and make him something other than a neko go for it.

@Tescos: yeah, ended up not being able to make it to the putting up of the IC then. Slept for almost 12 hours. I had been up for over 48 hours and had trudged 17.6 miles soaked to the bone in the rain in the rain....I needed the sleep. I'll get to work on the IC thread now. (then put up my own character.)

Name: Urgosh Stonebarrel
Race: Dwarf
Class: Healer
Gender: Male
Age: 60
Title: None
Weapons: A single handed wooden club.
Apparel: Urgosh wares white (or off white) robes, and does not tend to have too many fancies or frills on him. he has a pair of light brown boots which are also rather off from the color they had been meant to be. Beyond this he does not ware much.
Misc: He keeps a holy symbol of one of the Dwarven gods on a chain around his neck.
Skills: Urgosh knows the basic skills in regards to first aid and medicine, but he is most noted for his magical healing abilities. He doesn't have any prowess in magical attacks, but he can mend cuts and stabs, though more severe wounds he can only lessen till they are healed.
Appearance: Urgosh stands at 4 feet 6 inches tall and weights probably about as much as a well muscled fully grown human male would. He has red hair which is braided down into his beard of equal color. His nose is flared and bulbed on the end and his eyes are brown with flakes of gold in them.
Personality: Urgosh is a strong willed and stubborn dwarf, like most are. He holds a bit of disdain towards other races, but for the most part he keeps it to himself. He doesn't think illy of them as wholes, just that they all tend to be too soft and fragile compared to his race of rock and iron as he thinks of them. He is however quick to laugh, though also quick to anger. He loves to drink, and often can be found with a tankard in hand. He is a bit short tempered with those much taller than him and though he is pious at times, he does tend to slip into the natural disposition of hot tempered and battle ready which is so well known for his people. He dislikes fish as well, referring to it as poorly made water meat.
Bio: Urgosh was born in the dwarven kingdom in the northern mountains. His father and mother were both minors, and true to form, if he wanted to go with the most commonly accepted practice among his people, he would go along with the family trade as most dwaves did. However there was a few professions that he could branch out to and not have it somewhat frowned upon by the tradition bound dwaves. Among them was a priest, this was something that even in his younger days Urgosh had always thought about, so when he came of age he informed his parents, whom allowed him to go and study the words of their gods.
After years of study he had reached the rank of aprintice, but was still only within the studies of the lesser healing magics. He then made the choice many Dwarves do not make, and left the secluded mountain kingdoms of the Dwarves in the mountains and traveled out into the world of the other races on a pilgrimage to discover the will that his gods had for him.
Aspirations: Urgosh hopes to some day become a priest and spread the will of the gods of his people as those great priests before him. He also wishes to some day slay a giant.

alright, I'll tell you like I told End, Elves don't hit adulthood till early 100's you'd literally be a toddler at 20. >.<

[-tries not to laugh- that picture's a female mate...just figured I let you know you missed the cleavage.....]

and a little bit of explanation on the personality is required. You don't have to explain every detail and quark, but you have to give us something.

Other than those it looks fine.
