OOC/thread info is here. The stillness of the early morning was broken by the sound of a hammer on a nail; the capitol's messenger was nailing a new announcement to the notice board. It was the middle of the morning when people began to crowd around, peering curiously at the large parchment, a few reading it to themselves, most wondering what it said, being uneducated masses. Finally, they were all enlightened as the Town Crier came and read in a loud, bold voice, "Hear ye! It has been decreed by the Royal Family that a Queste for one of Death's Tears should begin! A white tear is needed immediately! Any who are so brave as to take on this noble cause should report to the Town Center at Noon. The successful Questers will be rewarded with wealth untold and one wish granted, inasmuch as it is humanly possible for that wish to be granted by the Royal Family, upon return with a tear. Signed, the Royal Family." That said, the Town Crier darted off, leaving the crowd to murmur amongst themselves. Risk their lives!? What did the Family need a tear for!? What was this all about? ... Who would go!? It was only a few more hours until noon and they passed quickly. All too soon, the Chancellor could be seen in the Town Center, mopping his nervous brow with a handkerchief, biting his lip. The populace crowded around the edge of the center, eager eyes waiting to see who would approach. There had been gossip flying all day as to who would throw down the gauntlet. At last, they would find out who would dare take up the challenge! Edited by Rii Dono, September 10, 2010, 5:42 am.

It really was a crying shame that Rajah had not been put into chains among the masses as the nail dug into the Royal's decree. This was all just a show for the unintellectual and intellectual alike. At least, that's how Rajah saw it as she stood in the center of what she perceived as a jarbled mess of rediculous commoners. As always, no one seemed to be crazy enough to go on this suicidal quest but alas, there were some who had no choice in the matter. With a strangled sigh, Rajah attempted to move through the crowd, excusing herself not so kindly as the red fury of a girl slithered and nudged through the gawking citizens. Oh yes, she was walking towards the Town Center as was her "duty". Redemption was not on the top of her list but of course the royals did not care so much about the opinions of a criminal such as she. And so, Rajah headed into the chaos that would be the quest for the Death Tear, a sentence given out to her and almost worse than death itself. There was a small tinge of optimism in her that Rajah would never admit to as she strolled ever so casually to her fated doom. Maybe she would survive, maybe she'd completely baffle those who wanted her dead and gone and win this all-mighty and impossible reward. Oh, to see the looks on all of their faces if she did come back alive, hand outstretched for her wealth and wish. They would regret giving her a choice between this quest and the death sentence. Up ahead, Rajah spotted the Chancellor in all his sweating and nervous glory. She hesitated, almost ready to sneer and jeer at his state. Well, that would be very off-setting now wouldn't it? It would be better for Rajah to lay low. After all, many knew of her menacing and powerful presence but few knew of her crimes. Instead, Rajah kept her critiques about the man's complete idiocy to herself as she always did. Everything was better hidden in the depths of her mind, where no one could touch it. Only she had such a privilege to seek into the unconcious after all. "Well, with rewards being offered, how ever could I resist?" Rajah said smoothly as she approached the Chancellor within the Town Hall, running a hand over a small wave of fierce and wild hair that had found its way onto her chest. The undertone of her words reaked of sarcasm as both she and he knew why she was there, so willingly giving her valuable life to something she'd otherwise laugh at. There was no hope in curing the queen. All of them were completely deranged if they thought otherwise. |

Under normal circumstances, Ephirel paid no attention whatsoever to the notice board. It wasn't like it could keep his interest for even a moment, considering that he couldn't read anything posted there. He was blind, after all. Unless someone was kind enough to read a notice for him, he'd never know what was posted there. Ephirel heard the sound of the new notice being hammered onto the board from quite a distance away. He normally wouldn't have paid it any mind and just continued going about his business, but he could hear quite a bit of noise coming from the masses that were undoubtedly gathered in front of the board. It must be quite the important notice, then. Perhaps he should try to listen to someone read it aloud. Unfortunately, it seemed like no one was inclined to do so. Or they couldn't read. The latter seemed more likely, and Ephirel was about to give up when he heard the town crier step up and announce the notice's contents for all to hear. So the royal family wanted a Tear, hm? That was quite interesting. And it would be a very dangerous journey. He could already hear many people saying how they'd never risk their lives on such a trek, but... why not? Why not him? He could be of use, perhaps. He was useless when it came to looking for something, but his other senses were quite acute. In his small home on the outskirts of the town, he groped around the wall for the door. When he found it, he opened it and started to head toward the town center. He knew the way there by habit. There were plenty of people passing him by as he walked, and he avoided each because he could hear them coming. There was a lot of excess noise today, which was proving to be quite distracting. It was starting to give him a headache, but he ignored it as best he could and focused on what he needed to, counting his steps as he walked. Thirty paces to the first turn, twenty-five to the second, and so on... Until at last he had arrived at the town center. |

Zeeszrom had taken up the habit of lingering near the noticeboard earlier in the mornings, when the guards would post new marks for that day. It was best to be there when they were first posted and out before many villagers could start to gather and cast him disparaging looks. However, today was a surprise. The excessively large notice with carefully scripted type was not the ordinary notice. Zeeszrom's eye had scanned over it carefully, and a grin spread over his lips. This was his chance. Now that it was noon, it was time to join whoever else would dare take up such a dangerous journey and head off. Zeeszrom checked his things, ensuring he hadn't forgotten anything. Weapons, strapped in place, house was in order, everything looked good. He, too, lived on the outskirts of town, though on a different side than Ephirel; he saw almost no one on his way back into town. Once inside, even the dark glares of the average villager couldn't take down his burning anticipation. Yes, this journey was going to be more difficult than hunting down any mark, but he wouldn't be going alone, and with success, he could wish for equality. He'd finally be free of the prejudice against his physical appearance. Zeeszrom hesitated slightly when he spotted Rajah. As a bounty hunter, he was at least semi-familiar with nearly all the criminals. While he wasn't knowledgeable in her specific crimes, he was aware that she was a rather feared criminal. Come now, what did you expect? These are desperate times. Besides, you are a bounty hunter, you have fought the likes of her before and won, and that was in a situation where you were enemies. You are now allies, he chided himself. With a shake of his head, he pressed forward, determined to regard Rajah civilly. Moving through the crowd also proved easy; no one wanted to be touched by demon spawn any more than they wanted to be touched by a leper. The Chancellor had regarded Rajah coldly, with a slight glare that seemed to say 'I think it's a mistake to send you'. When Zeeszrom arrived, the expression changed slightly: 'You are also a mistake.' The Chancellor knew that this quest was a fool's errand, and that it was even worse since they could not send trusted warriors. Unlike the other members of the Royal Family, he did not believe sending scum off to find the Tear would make anything any better. However, he was not one to argue so things stood as they were. At least, he thought, they might manage to purge their city of so much unwanted filth. |

Wheels clattered loudly across the cobblestones as the prison carriage entered the Town Square. Better known as the Cage Wagon, it was one of the three or four used by the City Watch to transport prisoners. The squat, heavy carriage had no windows, and although it usually carried six or more prisoners, today it only carried one. It pulled to a stop a short distance from the Chancellor. Whether his nervousness was due to the carriage's occupant, only he knew. The driver and footman climbed down from their places on the carriage, the footman producing a large key. He unlocked the door, drew back the heavy bolts, and allowed the guards inside to lead out a man wearing a Bargate Prison uniform. The prisoner was weighed down with shackles. Leg irons bolted around his ankles forced him to step down from the carriage in short, shuffling steps. His arms were encased in iron tubes that covered his hands and forearms and were connected in front of him by very short chains. The lower half of his face and head were hidden by the strange half-helmet contraption locked in place. It looked as though the device was intended to keep his mouth shut. Anyone recognizing the shock of white hair from the hanging not long ago would know why. The man dubbed by the populace at large as Smiling Jack was dragged forwards at the end of three chain leashes by a trio of very serious-looking guards. The man widely regarded as the most vile creature to set foot on Alterrian soil required special precautions. |

"What!?" the Chancellor yelped, "they...they didn't tell me they were sending Smiling Jack too!" He paused, struggling to regain his composure. We're all doomed, doomed! Two criminals of nightmares and this...demon. Doomed! The attempt not to show his thoughts went badly. "Well? Is anyone else coming?" the Chancellor growled, his fierceness a poor attempt at covering up his fears, "They told me they were only releasing two prisoners to go, that is correct, isn't it?" The first question was to the guards in general, and then he asked, to everyone, "Is anyone else willing to take up the challenge?" Zeeszrom's face turned quite dark as the Chancellor began to speak, eying the new arrival with apprehension. He knew Smiling Jack. Every bounty hunter knew him. Marks for him had been posted everywhere before he was caught. It made the demon hybrid's skin crawl to think he'd be traveling with the wendigo, and his hand felt for his sword. It seemed he'd be getting little sleep this trip. |

Hah! So there were crazy people out there. How was it that others would actually volunteer for this nonsense? They had to have some kind of agenda seeing as the first two couldn't possibly have been convicts forced on this quest. It seemed as if a circus had gathered at the Town Hall. Of course the ones to rally in support of their queen (hah) would be the misfits and psycos. Rajah eyed the two other men to first approach, keeping her thoughts and emotions well hidden as she analyzed the group she'd have to head out with. A half-demon who she had a sneaking suspicion was a bounty hunter if her criminal gut instinct was correct and a blind bat. Well, he wasn't a bat but the poor creature couldn't see a thing, though he definitely knew how to avoid physical conflict. Very strong in other aspects, Rajah thought. She'd have to be on her toes. Ah, and then there was the Cage Wagon's arrival. So, she wouldn't be the only criminal amongst the group. What a disappointment. Rajah stiffened slightly when she saw who the Cage was holding, only barely containing a grumbles of protest. Smiling Jack? The man with cannibal tendencies? It was, she reasoned, a suitable person for the job since he never, ever died. Now that was something Rajah found both very interesting and alarming. She'd have to keep her eyes open and her mind wandering. To survive, Rajah would need to know everything and anything these strange men were planning. "Oh, and here I thought the wonderful Chancellor would join us in our quest. If not, I don't believe any other poor fool would even think of taking up this... challenge," Rajah said, giving him a glare that said many words, including: You're just a mistake in general. |

Ephirel had certainly arrived at the town center by this point, and he'd been listening in on what was going on without making comment. So they had some criminals here? He honestly couldn't tell such things. Wanted posters were lost on him. He couldn't see the images, and it wasn't like someone could easily explain to him what someone's face felt like based on a rough sketch. Besides, he wouldn't go around touching people's faces just to see if he should be worried about them or not. He certainly wasn't bounty hunter material, and he didn't care that the criminals would be going on this trip. Let them. They could act as body shields. And if all else failed, he could toss them in the general direction of foes and let them slow the threats down. He frowned slightly as he waited for the chancellor to acknowledge his presence. Honestly, it was rather rude that the man had ignored him completely like this. Perhaps he was trying to give the hint that a blind man like Ephirel didn't belong on a trek like this. He doubted the chancellor was aware that Ephirel was even a demon. He was of a different breed than the half-demon in the group--who he didn't know was even partially demonic since he couldn't see him. He actually looked human most of the time. |

The Chancellor ran a weary hand over his face. "Do not test me," he growled to Rajah under his breath. He glanced over the three people again, the criminals and the bounty hunter. Three people...that seemed such a paltry group. He opened his mouth again to call to the crowd, when at last he took real notice of the blind demon. Ephirel was standing too much in the Town Center and too far away from the crowd to possibly be just "watching". Besides that, what would a blind man be doing here? He wouldn't be able to see what was going on. No, he wanted to join the group. That couldn't be right - he was blind! What use would he be!? Someone in the crowd was quicker than the Chancellor. "Is this the mighty questing group? Two criminals, a freak show, and a blind guy? You're sending them out to be slaughtered! Who do you think we are, Xian? We aren't in for blood sport!" The situation had to be grasped and brought back under control. The Chancellor quickly began to bellow over the man in the crowd, "BEHOLD! These are our brave heroes!" He sounded as if he believed in them, almost. "These grand four are daring enough to trek to the ends of the Earth to retrieve a tear! You four - supplies have been provided for you. They're at the gate. Make haste," he said, "and get out. Heaven have mercy," he added. |

The coach driver gestured to the guards holding Smiling Jack's leashes. While two held tight to the chains, the third unlocked the leg irons and the heavy padlock at the base of the cannibal's neck. With the quiet squeak of hinges, the mask came free. Woking the kinks out of his knees and craning his head around, the wendigo grinned at the guard, showing off his serrated teeth. The guard did not flinch. His voice matched his teeth: inhumanly cruel. "You smell like fear. I got a dollar that says you taste like pork chops." The guards did a good job of ignoring the quip. Two started unhooking the chains from the thick leather collar that remained around his neck while the third strode over to rest of the group. Handing a heavy key on a large but otherwise empty ring to Rajah, he said, "There's a metal stud planted in his back. If he doesn't try his best to make this mission succeed, it'll make it grow spikes and kill him. The wizards say it'll kill even him. Not that I don't trust wizards, but don't take his cuffs off until he's outside of the city." The carriage's footman pulled a burlap sack off the luggage rack and tossed it to the cobblestones. It landed with a muffled clank. Whipping around and making the guards twitch, the wendigo shouted, "Hey, meat! Careful with my stuff. Some of those blades are worth more than you, even selling you off by the pound!" Turning back to the group in front of him as though the footman was no longer worth the attention, he grinned again. "So, here we are, the heroes and freaks. I'm Sevink. Don't call me Smiling Jack. It's a silly name. I promise not to butcher you and devour your remains unless I have to. The thing in my back stings enough as is." |

Rajah stifled a laugh at the outburst from within the crowd. Whoever it was, he or she had the right to voice how ridiculous it all was but what did they expect from the all mighty royals? Why not send some of their own to find this blasted Death Tear? Ah, but they were too cowardly to show how much they "loved" their queen. Of course it would be the outcasts that would have to venture out. She eyed the chancellor with amusement as he shooed them off so eagerly. So ready to rid their town of all their problems. By all means, she was all but for leaving and escaping her death sentence... just to face another one. When the guard handed Rajah the key, heavy both physically and as a burden, she looked up at him with a blank face. Inside, Rajah envisioned herself tearing the man's head off for making her such a large target. Who would be the first to go if that man even thought of escaping? Her, of course, now that she had the one thing that would trigger his death. "I can only imagine, Sevink," Rajah said calmly as she moved the key around in her hand before placing it in the security of the pouch she always carried tied to her clothes. She would feel if he even thought of sneaking it out of her grasp. No one could steal from a robber as cunning as she and if they did, Rajah would certainly fight back. "Now, shall we?" Rajah asked sarcastically as she started towards the town gate, knowing that only two of the four who were crazy enough to go on this quest had an actual choice in moving forward. |

After that little exchange, Ephirel followed Rajah in silence, having not said a word to anyone this entire time. And that was likely to persist. He wasn't very talkative. He hadn't been much of a talker ever since he lost his eyes. Now that he couldn't rely on sight for anything, he needed to use his hearing and touch to navigate. If he spoke, there was a chance he'd miss hearing something important. He locked onto the sound of Rajah's footsteps and kept close on her tail, even matching his steps to hers. That was a bit of an instinctive reaction by this point. It prevented him from stepping on her heels should he accidentally take too large a step. Plus, judging by her steps, he'd know if there was something he needed to avoid in their path. Usually. There were some occasions when things that were off the ground hit him as he tried to walk through them unknowingly, but that happened very infrequently around here. He knew where he was going in this town. He'd grown quite accustomed to its layout. And now he was going out into the unknown again. |

Zeeszrom looked more than a little offended when the guard handed off the key to Rajah instead of him. What was that guard thinking!? Who here was a large, powerful being who was used to fighting off criminals and keeping them in custody!? Who had an added bonus of magic ready at hand!? Not Rajah! Had all his prestige as a bounty hunter brought him nothing still? Swallowing the offense and brushing it off, he walked along behind Rajah quietly, eye turning from her to Ephirel, to 'Smiling Jack' - it would take quite a bit of effort for Zeeszrom to re-gear his thoughts to call the man Sevink. Oh, what a journey this would be. The guards at the open gate warily watched the four approach, four bags filled with food rations, rope, a bedroll, bandages, and similar supplies waiting for them. Behind, the crowd of commoners stared at the four 'heroes', bewildered that the four unlikely characters would be representing them in a quest. Always, it had been knights in polished armor and blazing mages, marching out in glory when it came for a quest, never a quiet procession of criminals and outcasts. (Fair enough, there had never been a quest involving the Gate, Netherplane, or Death before, either.) The only thing on Zeeszrom's mind as he stooped to claim his own pack of supplies was what would be the most tactful way to ask Rajah for custody of Sevink's key. With his mind busy, the oppression of the dreary city hardly weighed down on him. |

Eyes squinting against the bright sunlight, Sevink scoopied up his sack of belonging as best he could with his heavily cuffed hands. Almost dropping the bag several time on their way out of the city, he resorted to holding the knotted mouth of the bag in his teeth while cradling it on his forearms. As they left the gates, he spat out the heavy burlap. He grinned and rattled his cuffs at Rajah. "Hands, please." When he said it, he stretched 'please' into a long, mocking word. "I'd like to get out of prison uniform and back into some comfortable clothes." He looked up at the sun, squinting. "So do the rest of you have names?" |

This really was such a show for the citizens. To think that the fate of their land rested in the people they despised the most. Oh, the irony. Rajah almost laughed at the hilarity of the situation facing her. Now, it wouldn't be as funny when she was facing the rough terrain beyond the gates. Rajah stood in front of the gates for a moment, curious and strangely worried about what was hidden behind it. She grabbed up her bag and peered back at the others in her group, admiring quietly how the blind male was keeping up so well. He truly was skilled with sound. So, sneaking up on him would probably be hard to do and that did comfort Rajah a great deal. He would be able to tell if something was following them or anything of that sort. But, then again, if it ever came to a point when she'd have to find a way to get rid of him it would be difficult. Once outside the city walls, Rajah breathed in deeply and took in the new freedom that had been forced upon her. So far, it wasn't as bad as it was ridiculous. "One foul move, and the key goes in," Rajah warned as she debated actually undoing his handcuffs. She did, after all, have the one thing that could freeze him in her custody. Rajah highly doubted it would give him the true death but at least it would paralyze him long enough for her to get away. That was always comforting. Rajah hesitantly undid his cuffs. "I believe I do have a name. It's Rajah," she answered, the key instantly disappearing into her pouch after he was released from his hand restraints. |

"Ephirel," the blind demon replied shortly. His voice would have been quite alluring and pleasing to listen to if it hadn't sounded like he hadn't used it in quite a while. He was certainly a quiet one. It was better to listen than to be heard, in his case. Because he needed to listen in order to know what was going on around him. He'd rather not determine that someone was walking his way by bumping into them. He relied on touch for many things, but navigating through crowds was not one of them. He made mental notes of the names that went with the voices he was hearing. By this point he was well-practiced with that, and he could often pick out a single voice from a cacophonous mess. He had quite the ear for pitch, though he'd often found that a high-pitched noise--or just too much noise--could give him a horrible headache. |

Zeeszrom's eye lingered jealously on the key as Rajah freed Sevink. However, as she stowed it away, he turned his thoughts elsewhere; no use brooding on it now. "My name is Zeeszrom," the half-demon half-elf said. His voice was an incredible baritone, undoubtedly the lowest any of them had heard. He readjusted the pack on his back, eye slowly moving over his three companions. The only time he'd ever traveled with criminals was when he journeyed back with them from their hiding spots and lairs to turn in for a bounty; sojourning with them, unbound, was already making him nervous. His hand rested on the phoenix-shaped hilt of his sword, hilt suggesting the nature of flame in the blade. "I certainly hope," he eventually added, "neither of you two will be cause for trouble. If neither of you two are familiar with me, all the better; I am fairly familiar with the both of you, moreso than the masses. Even had I not been, persons of your...vocation grant me mine." He basically ignored Ephirel for now. There was something about him that Zeeszrom didn't trust, either, though he couldn't place his finger on it. He seemed to be, honestly enough, blind and not hiding behind a blindfold, so that wasn't it. Nevertheless, Zeeszrom always trusted his instincts. |

The bow Sevink granted Rajah came across as sarcastic, if a gesture can be so. "So be it, your highness." Shucking the restricting cuffs, he delved into the sack containing his belongings. Removing a suit of clothing, he dropped the cuffs into the sack, mumbling something that sounded like, "Might be useful." Peeling quickly out of the itchy-looking prison shirt, he donned a black shirt and a long coat that was half black and half white. Shamelessly changing out of the prison trousers, showing off his choice of black boxers while doing so, he hopped quickly into his own pants, also black and white, and pulled on a rather well-made pair of boots. He held the bundled prison uniform, looking at it. Shrugging once, he tossed them into the sack as well and removed a rolled-up piece of leather. Placing it on the ground and unrolling it revealed an array of blades that would be slightly unnerving in any curcumstances, let alone in the possession of a serial killer. He selected a stout machete and a quartet of heavy throwing knives, buckled them about his person, and rolled the rest up and placed them in the sack with almost loving care. "Where to? Besides north. It's a bit of a non-specific direction, after all. Don't suppose either of the.." He sniffed the air. "... One and a half Beasts of the Pit here know the way?" |

Zeeszrom shot him a dark glower, one that could either be seen as doubly or half as threatening with the partner eye patched over. "I am familiar with a great deal of the Netherlands; I am not familiar with the Gate. It is farther North still, and the further North one is to travel, the more treacherous lands they are to trespass. All the same, I have reached areas farther North than many others...and from there, we will have to test our luck, unless Ephirel should know the way at all." One and a half demons? That meant either Ephirel was a demon (which would explain the uneasy feeling in his gut about the 'man') or that Rajah was. Some rumors that Rajah was some sort of demon circulated with some groups, but Zeeszrom highly doubted they could be true. Two prisoners, both highly feared, a demon, himself. Oh, what a journey this would be! |

Ephirel didn't seem to care all that much that Sevnik had revealed his nature to the rest of the group. His demonic nature wasn't something that he put much effort into hiding in situations like these. Sure he kept it quiet while among the skittish masses, but surely these three were less likely to fret over what he was. Seeing as he could sense that one of them had at least some demon blood in him. Not the same breed as Ephirel, but demonic nonetheless. And as such... "I have some knowledge of the Gate's whereabouts," he answered, speaking far more than he'd done in a long time. "I fear I will be of little use in finding it, however." The reason why was quite obvious. If anyone hadn't figured out by now that Ephirel was truly blind, they'd probably realize it now. He couldn't help because he couldn't see to give any sort of directions to the others. He couldn't even point out places on a map. It was something that was very likely to frustrate him during this venture. |

A snide remark escaped his mouth in the form of a whisper as he listened to the four converse. From his spot behind some near by trees he could hears every word that came from thier mouths. While he could not see them he was still able to size them up due to the tenor of thier voices. He had learned that the group that was to go on this journey where to exit from this gate. So he had sat here for the good part of the day waiting on them to arrive. It would seem that this would be that very group right now. Something that one of them had said caught his attention. He stood up and revealed him self from behind the trees. "If it is passage to the gate you seek then I may be of some use to you." His travels had brought him to the Netherlands twice before and as far as the Gate once before. He walked up to them and introduced himself "Greetings I am Rajin Stratum. I am the best.... man to get you to gate." He didn't want to reveal his true nature to them just yet. |

The snide remark whispered by the watching man caught the highly sensitive ears of the blind demon, who froze and listened more carefully, trying to discern if this person was a threat. When he revealed himself, that really didn't do much good for the demon. He'd already known the general location of the watcher, but now he certainly had a better idea of it. But he knew nothing else about him. Except that by his scent, he didn't smell human. He couldn't tell exactly what he was, but he certainly wasn't human. He was tense as he waited for the others to speak to the newcomer. Let them decide if they should follow someone who had clearly been spying on them and eavesdropping. He honestly wasn't going to be quick to trust this person. That snide remark had swayed Ephirel's opinion of him into the negative direction. |

Zeeszrom frowned deeply. Once again, his gut wrenched at the newcomer, screaming that something was wrong. All the same, he politely replied, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Rajin. I wonder why you were not at the Town Square, with the rest of us, if you had a desire to join us on our quest? Surely it is because, perhaps, you were late or another similar circumstance? I cannot honestly imagine you would have ill intentions?" Thought he spoke with a near sincere voice, the way he raised his brow, the way his eye sparked menacingly suggested that he really could imagine that Rajin having ill intentions and little else. It was, of course, not his to speak for the whole group whether this man could or could not come but at the moment, Zeeszrom didn't see much of a difference if he did; he was surrounded by people he didn't trust, who would have to at least pretend they were working together and not kill each other until the first half of their quest, obtaining a tear, was complete. What was one more person? Maybe when it came to it, when they, undoubtedly, all fought each other for the tear when they acquired it, this one more person would mean one more enemy to his enemies. Ah, but so early, when the prospects of even getting to the Gate were so dim, was not the time to ponder such things. |

Kaida rushed towards the Town Square, just missing the questing party. "Damn..." She hissed quietly through her teeth, rushing through the crowd of people. "I'm joining too." She said simply to the Channeler, making her way out of the town gate, before anyone could stop her. Her metal armor clanked as she ran in fast long strides towards the group of people she saw in the distance, catching up fairly quickly. "Ill be accompanying on your journey, my name is Kaida." She stated evenly, glancing around at the group, quickly examining each member. "Two criminals, a bounty hunter, a blind man, and...." She whispered to herself, studying Rajin but not saying anything. By the bits of conversation she had overheard upon arrival she had decided he was a newcomer to the group as well, and did not join in the town square. |

Rajah smiled at Zeeszrom innocently. "Why, of course not. I'm nothing if not a sweet little darling as long as you haven't anything of value," Rajah replied, snuffling a small laugh at the rediculous nature of the bounty hunter's little speech of righteousness. Truly, did he actually expect a criminal to be on his or her best behavior? Oh, she would try but people's dreams always tempted and swayed her so. She couldn't help but devour them completely. She scoffed at her fellow criminal, her eyes rolling as he took a sarcastic bow. Well, this would be quite amusing, though his collection of weapons was both unsettling and soothing. If anything came around, he'd be able to kill it off instantly but he'd also be just as nimble when it came to killing them off. Oh yes, she'd have to keep a keen eye on his dreams while on this trip. Rajah refused to die by the hands of another. Rajah took stock of all their names, eyeing Ephirel as he spoke of the Netherlands. So he was a demon as well. It didn't surprise her much, though it did cause her to note a higher danger potential for him. She had her hands full. Now, she'd have to watch three people's dreams simultaneously. Oh, she'd be quite a grouch for lack of true rest at night. Suddenly, disturbing Rajah's train of thought, a man appeared out of nowhere and her guard was instantly up. Rajah's hand slid over her dagger in preparation for an attack but instead, the man offered them help. This only made her that much more cautious. Who was he? Where did he come from? Why was he joining so late? Oh, many alarms went off. She studied him carefully as he spoke, raising an eyebrow at his apparent knowledge of the Netherlands and the Gate. It seemed that he was their best bet for completing this rediculous quest but at what expense? She didn't trust him at all. And then, of course, a new traveler sprung from the hell that was town. Rajah grimaced as a female in armor arrived to join the awkward group. "Rajah," she stated briskly, giving a slight nod towards the woman as she sized her up. Oh, what fun this was going to be. How many dreams now? She was not going to be a morning person at all. |
