Gabriel Ernesto Morales | Twenty-six | Male

Medical Notes
Gabriel suffers from systemic lupus, and has for the past ten years, although he was diagnosed only five years ago (at age twenty-one). The disease runs in his family, on his mother's side, so it's believed that genetics played a large role in his development thereof. For the most part, his symptoms are fairly textbook: he's often feverish and exhausted, and is prone to splitting headaches. In addition, because his joints are often swollen, he sometimes has trouble standing or walking, on which occasions he relies on crutches to get around. Lately, however, he's ceased bothering to try.

Length of Stay
Over the past five years, Gabriel has been in and out of normal hospitals on a fairly regular basis. It's only been a couple of months, however, since he was "admitted" to Elucidation Hospital.

Personality
Gabriel was once an idealist, a dreamer. He was the type of man who could easily be friends with anyone. However, since the onset and progression of his disease, he's become reticent, asocial, and irritable. He dislikes discussing his symptoms with anybody -- doctors, family, or other patients -- and is waiting to either be cured or die. Even though he's reluctant to open up to people about things, he can be an excellent listener when caught on a good day. Some of his seemingly perpetual irascibility is only a front to hide a growing anxiety of what his future holds. He claims not to fear death (in fact, he often speaks as if he's impatient for it to come) but in truth, there's nothing he's more terrified of.

History
Gabriel Morales was born in Trinidad, Cuba -- the second son of two -- to Ernesto and Graciela Morales. His brother, Camilo, is older than him by only a year and the two are very close. When Gabriel was three and Camilo four, their family packed up and emigrated from Cuba to the United States in order to grasp the chance to be more than what they were. The first few years of their residence, the Morales family lived in Texas, but moved up to New York after being granted citizenship. Things were difficult for a long while, especially for Gabriel's parents, who spoke very little English, but with time, things began to look up. Eventually, the Moraleses achieved upper-middle-class status; it felt like a hard-won prize, and it was.

Gabriel was fairly young when he started to experience the symptoms of lupus. The fatigue came first, when he was around sixteen. At first, his parents thought that he was only trying to get out of going to school, but when he wouldn't wake up for hours and hours, it became clear that he wasn't faking. Shortly after, the headaches started, and he began to experience joint pain. The original diagnosis was rheumatoid arthritis, for which the treatment proved ineffectual. The symptoms progressed and worsened, and eventually, more began to show up. He started developing frequent fevers and ulcers that refused to heal, and even had seizures on occasion.

When word came out about Elucidation's so-called "miracle cure", Gabriel was eager to try it. After all, why suffer when there was a way to feel better? He checked into the hospital as soon as he was able, unaware that he would never check out.

Jessica Drake goes by JD | 28 | Female

Position
Nurse

Affiliation
Patient Torturer

Personality
JD is very twisted, she loves the sight of blood, in a way it excites her. She is fairly sociable, and appears very bubbly to everyone she gets along with, but quiet and shy to those she has just met. She is sometimes rude to the patients

History
JD was raised in upstate New York. He parents were always pressuring her to get into medicine because they had heard that Elucidation paid well. So when she graduated, she applied for a job. After she was accepted and found out what Elucidation was all about, she became very dark and twisted.
In the past four years of working at the facility in NY she became friends with some of the other doctors that enjoyed watching the life leave the patients eyes.

Vicktor Vonworkenstein | 37 | Male

Position
Doctor, Head of Euthanasia

Affiliation
Patient Torturer

Personality
Vicktor is a morbidly precise murderous doctor. His favorite line is "Chainsaws are always nice, but razorblades and knifes are way more precise." He enjoys suffering and watching people beg and plead for mercy. He also seems to enjoy all of Dr. Jack Kevorkian's works including a few of his paintings on display in his office. He even has a recorded clip of his lecture to students in Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida, from back in 2009, that he watches often.

History
Vicktor Vonworkenstein was convicted of one count of first degree murder and 2 counts of second degree murder and was sent to prison. Elucidation Hospital had caught word of his conviction and his style. Soon they had all the right (or wrong) gears turning. Vicktor was released and given a fake Medical Doctorate. He had to stay employed with Elucidation. He was more than happy to commit murder and get away with it.

Ellice Marie Tanner | 26 | female

Position
Nurse

Affiliation
Patient Torturer

Personality
In one word, you could describe her as sadistic. Having a few amusing mental disorders that cause her to enjoy inflicting pain on others, Ellice is the perfect candidate for this job position. When she's not torturing people, Ellice is generally quiet and doesn't talk a whole lot. She likes to use her body rather than her words.

History
Being a multi-millionaire's daughter...Ellice got everything she always wanted. Around the age of ten she started growing bored with playing with the puppies, and started to hurt them. That was more fun. At the age of 15 she started hurting people, and that was even more fun. In and out of a psychiatric ward once she was 18, Ellice was eventually sent to this hospital to get cured magically.

It was here that the head doctor found her particular illnesses to be amusing. She likes inflicting pain on others, as well as pain being inflicted on her. Being brought out of the role of patient, and put into the role of Nurse, Ellice quite enjoys the change. She still at times gets tortured by the doctors, but she likes it a little too much. As long as they don't chop anything off, she's more moaning with pleasure rather than pain.

Taylor Reuben | Nineteen | Male

Medical Notes
Wegener's granulomatosis: a form of vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels) that affects the lungs, kidneys and other organs. Due to its end-organ damage, it is life-threatening and requires long-term immunosuppression. Five-year survival is up to 87%, with some of the mortality due to toxicity of treatment. Taylor developed Wegner's two years ago, he was in hospital for a year being treated with steroids and cyclophosphamide - a chemotherapy drug. He now has to take steroids daily to treat his illness. Due to his Wegner's, Taylor is tired out often and cannot walk very far.

Length of Stay
Two years.

Personality
Taylor is a happy child, he's very optimistic and doesn't let his illness control him or get him down. He likes company and enjoys talking, though doesn't mind quiet time and doesn't crave people to talk to. Taylor gets very nervous around the doctors and has a tendency to hyperventilate which is often, considering he's quite a scaredy-cat. Due to not being able to run around and have fun as much as average kids, Taylor enjoys books a lot more - though he liked books before getting Wegner's but developed a deep love for them when he was hospitalized with not much to do every day.

History
Taylor had a very average life; he was the baby of his family, with a big sister and his parents. They lived a relatively nice house, though they couldn't afford much luxuries. Taylor's parents were smart people, his mother an English teacher and his father a social worker. Luckily, Taylor and his sister inherited the smart gene and did well in school.

Afew months before Taylor's seventeenth, he started to get sick. He'd start developing headaches, be very tired, and achey. It took a while before he went to the doctor's about it, the doctor's waved it off as "growing up", and possibly a case of the flu. However, the flu never developed and Taylor continued to feel worse, though he tried to hide it, thinking maybe that he was overreacting. Eventually, his mother grew worried enough to force the doctor's to test his blood - when they found he had Wegner's, and thus was hospitalized into Elucidation.

Effy Stonem | Seventeen | Female

Medical Notes
Psychotic depression: a form of major depressive disorder. Effy's symptoms include psychosis, delusions, paranoia, hallucinations, mania and depression. She is kept on a combination of anti-psychotic and anti-depression medications, of both the tricyclic and a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors variety.

Length of Stay
Three months

Personality
Effy has varying days. She can go from manic and hyperactive, talking in rambling sentences and not making sense, to screaming and violent, then to tearful and frightened. She is incredibly intelligent and highly manipulative. She uses her attractiveness to her advantage, and is very confident. She tends to be quiet and mysterious with people she doesn't know, and even people who've known her for a while. Effy is impulsive and incredibly wreckless; she will always think through every action but despite possible consequences, Effy will always go through with something simply because she wants to.

History
Effy was born in Britain; she had an older brother, a mother and a father. Her parents argued quite frequently. They lived in a slightly run down house, in a bad area. Effy never tried hard in school, but still managed to get high grades. Effy's school began to notice her more, finding her behaviour odd - though they'd found her odd for many years. She was sent to a psychiatrist and diagnosed with psychotic depression. When she was fifteen, her brother was involved in a car accident; he was hospitalized and unfortunately died only a few days after the accident. Effy's parents argued even more after their son's death, her father eventually leaving the family. Her mother started to take drugs to cope with the grief.

One day, Effy simply decided to leave. She packed a bag, took her mother's credit card and got herself to the airport and picked a flight. She found herself in New York. Effy managed to bag herself a job and an apartment with a kind boy. He had many friends, a gang who spent a lot of time on the streets, which were virtually empty due to most of the population being dead, in hiding or at the hospital. Vans were sent out frequently, taking people they found and testing them for disorders, searching for their medical records. The young girl spent her time drinking and doing drugs, becoming manic and having severe delusions, since she had run out of medication only a few months after moving to New York almost two years ago.

Around three months ago, Effy was captured on the street. Her medical record was found, showing she had a mental illness and she was taken to the hospital immediately, where she has been ever since.

Here are my CSs, guys! :3
I may make a staff member as well, but not right now.

Seeing as there isn't many of us in this RP, all patients will be staying on one ward, and all doctors and nurses will be posted to that ward. This way, there will be a lot more chance of interaction between characters!

The IC will be up momentarily and I'll post a link in the first post of the OOC.

Naava Almassé | Sixteen | Female

Medical Notes
Naava was born with type one diabetes. Her blood sugar levels were through the roof when she was diagnosed, and had to have an insulin pump put in her stomach later on in life. When she was thirteen, she was diagnosed with scoliosis, and that was the point in which her parents decided to put her in the new hospital, the one with all of the cures.

Length of Stay
It's been three years since they first sent her to the hospital, and it's also been three years since she's seen her parents again. Hell, she's starting not to remember what they look like any more. She never brought a picture with her. They told her that they would fix her, and she would be home within the next few months. It never happened, and her back is beginning to get worse.

Personality
Naava is actually a sweetheart. She's not violent, or spiteful. She's soft-spoken, and barely has a temper. She likes to run and jump around like most other teenagers, but she doesn't ever use extreme emotion, she's always very chill, and very content. She's very frail, and is physically very weak.

History
When she was born, she was taken to the hospital after failing to breathe and respond. Her blood sugar was up way too high, and she was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes. She was fitted with an insulin pump at age ten, and sent on her way. Being diabetic has never really bothered her, however. She lived a fairly normal life, with friends and a loving family. Three years later, at thirteen, she complained of back pain, and was taken to the doctor, where she was told that she had Scoliosis. Instead of corrective surgery, her parents chose the hospital. She went willingly, knowing that her parents knew what was best for her.

She went, and found that it was nothing of what they said it would be. She made friends with one very elderly doctor, and he took pity on her, only giving her saline instead of the poisons. She called him 'Grandad' after the first year, and three quarters through her third year of residence, he passed. She's tried to make friends with the other doctors, but to no avail.
