His voice was only at the edge of my conciousness, but it still made my entire body jump when the warm sensation hit my shoulders. It was Myri, of course, worrying about me even thought I had just met him. Was it because it was just his duty? A teacher to a student? No one actually cares. They just feel as though they have to. Nynx recoiled even farther inside herself, not wanting to bother or waste someone's time. It has always been the same. Feeling so happy and comfortable before it disappears again as though it was playing a trick on you. I've made people worry again,' Nynx thought getting even more upset. ' Ive gotten in another persons way.' The voice that resembled her fathers echoed around in her head. ' Your are pitifuly useless.' Nynx shook her head and crawled out of her cave, knowing fully well Myri was trying to comfort her. She just shook her head weakly, abnormal pink hair covering up her face. She didn't even bother to put her head back up. " Dont even try. " She whispered. 'Teacher' cut into her like a sword. A word of power. A title. 'Father.' Nynx started to recoil but she shook her head again. " Ive always been in people's way, you shouldn't bother to help me, teacher. " She spat at the last word, a spark of anger filling her emotions. Her temperature kept dropping lower as water turbed to ice. 98.9 • "....." 89.3 • "....." 71.5 • "....." 64.7 • "......." 45 • 32 • 20....• "......" Her breath came out in white like it was a winter day but it was a nice warm sunny day, her temperature not affected by the sun at this point. " C-c-c-cold..." Nynx whispered, not angry enough to not pay attention to how cold she was. She shouldve died, but she didn't. You really have problems. She told herself, trying to sense any warmth, anywhere. She grabbed on to Myri since he was the only person she could find as her cold hands felt a bit of comfort. |

Aamya and Aja did not do exactly what Myridion had told them to do. They did go inside the school building, but not to the secretary. The two were not enrolled into the school, so they had to see the principal, first. His office wasn't hard to find. Across the hall from the entrance was a door that had "PRINCIPAL" written on it. That must have been a dead give-away to anyone that was new to the school. When the beast sibilings opened the door to the principal's office, they had quite a surprise. Instead of seeing a well dressed person, they saw a black cat sleeping on the wooden desk in the office. Between the multiple races in the world, including tigers, foxes, vampires, and fairies, this was pretty normal. Having a cat for the head of an elemental high school was totally okay. "You know, you should really knock before entering a room." The cat black said, awaking from his sleep. He jumped to go behind his desk, and reappered in human form. "Welcome to School of Elements. My name is Mr. Storm. How may I help you two students?" "Listen! We have been waiting a long time outside this locked building! So you better enroll us or---" Aamya was cut off when his sister kneed him in the stomach. He crumbled to the floor in pain. "What my rude, older brother is trying to say is that we are new. We would like to enroll in this school, and have dorms to stay in." Aja explained. She was always better with words. |

Stepping through the gates with a sense of definite solitude, the teenager's vision faced firmly foward. Noone else was around, despite him having heard voices not moments before. The administrative building seemed to be in rather great shape considering all the stories he'd heard about it. It even had a modernistic, contemporary approach in its grand architecture. With an firm inhale, the boy stepped inside the school halls, carrying a single backpack that held only the neccesities he'd required to survive the next two years. To be completely honest, he knew not what to expect from this place, but by the sounds of heated discussion he'd heard earlier, Brendan knew that there was a large possibility that once again, trying to make friends was going to be impossible. "Brilliant." he sighed, a sombre tone layering his voice as he continued forward. Up ahead, he could hear voices again and venturing forward, went to investigate. Rounding a corner, he found what seemed to be a teacher trying to give another new student a pep-talk. It was a comforting thought to know that he wasn't the only one who was unsure of the new environment... But no... Something was different. Brendan's suddenly aura became visible, silver flames dancing around him calmly. The boy was quite astounded by this - having never known of this ability. What was its significance, its purpose? Suddenly, the teen's aura behaving a little more unpredictably, the silver flames flaring up with more ferocity. But Brendan could no longer see any of this transpiring, his eyes glowing white. His vision began to see images.. of the girl standing before him; everything became clear. The girl wasn't unsure. She was in pain; in every way. And thanks to his power, the boy knew exactly why. It definitely wasn't the same as his own, but nonetheless surely gave her similar feelings to his own. Sadness filled him for a third time that morning, having received no quarter from his depression so far today. With a jolt the boy came back to reality, the Energy in the form of his aura having hidden itself again. Raising a hand to touch his cheek, he realised that tears had been rolling down his face - and by the sheer number of tears, it would've been reasonable to ask just how long he'd been standing there in that... whatever it was. Not caring enough to wipe away the tears, the boy stepped forward. If people saw him cry; so be it. If they didn't like it, tough. "Excuse me.." he whimpered shyly, hoping to get the teacher's attention while also trying to avoid eye contact with the girl. "C-could you tell me where I need to go?" What a wonderful way to start the day... |

Nynx sighed, her breath almost freezing in the air. When she heard a soft stuttering voice much like her own, her eyes sadly looked up to this boy. His aura was strange indeed, but at the same time it felt welcoming. Tear streaks were left on his cheeks, but what was he crying for? She wasn't entirely sure, and her ears twitched in curiousity and confusion. But Nynx was exhausted. She had memorized the school lay out before coming here, so she knew where everything was, and could probably help this boy. But all this girl wanted was a bit of warmth, and shying away from Myri, she grasped a hold of the boy and nuzzled into his chest like a cat. ' S-s-so warm.' She whispered, her skin as cold as ice, her heart baely beating. The warmth collided with the cold, and Nynx could start to talk without frozen air coming out of her mouth now. " What ... Is your grade and... And element? " She asked, nuzzling deeper, so cold and frightened. She just wanted to be warmer. Was that so much to ask? Nynx's fingertips grasped ahold of the boy's shirt, and she gasped before asking again," Who were you crying for...?" Before suddenly realizing her position and blushing a bright pink before breaking away. She shivered, the abscense of warmth making her body moan. ' S-s-sorry j-j-just so cold.' DShr put her arms around herself, and tried to contain heat. |

Brendan nearly recoiled back as the fox-girl approached him, frost emnating from her mouth as she exhaled. But, somehow he found the strength not to. He knew why she was cold, in addition to the fact that her element was water. How he knew this was a question even he didn't have an answer to. Were his powers doing this, giving him the insight into people's lives through their own auras? How... disgustingly invasive. Had he not been looking at the girl at that moment, the teen probably would've frowned at himself in disgust. Maybe his abilities weren't a gift - perhaps they were a curse. It wouldn't have surprised him; he'd always considered himself a monster beyond help, one that didn't deserve to live. In any case, as the girl made contact with him, immediately the boy could feel a large chill. She was definitely freezing. She snuggled up to him so easily, like she felt safe with him. It was true that he wouldn't hurt her at all, but things didn't quite add up; he was aware of her dislike of males as well. He could feel her heartbeat, despite it being faint; the energy within it still pulsed. And then as her body began to warm to his own, he found that her heart rate began to increase again. It was still fairly weak, though she was no longer on what seemed to be Death's Door. She'd just wanted to be warm, and he'd given her that. Her emotions began to flow into his head; feelings of fear. "I'm not going to hurt you." he whispered quietly, unsure if she'd heard. While he wouldn't hurt her, he didn't feel as though he'd be able to protect her from her fears either... When she responded with a question; notably concerning his grade and ability - Brendan stuttered with his response, partly due to the coldness of the fox-girl's body against his own, but moreso due to nerves; he wasn't good with people. "I, I uh.. Elev-v-venth G-g-grade. M-my Element is Energy." He could feel her grip on his shirt tighten as she gasped; as if it were her last breath of air. Thankfully though, she defied death and asked him another question - more difficult to answer. "I think I b-best k-k-keep that to m-m-myself for now." Suddenly, the cold left his body; the girl having shifted away and... blushing? What an odd thing to do.. "I underst-stand." he stuttered, obviously still battling his nerves though the cold had withdrawn. "I think I sh-should g-go." He stammered, looking for a sign. Seeing the administrative office down the hall, Brendan's vision dropped to the floor as it had before, deciding that he wanted to end this rather odd meeting. However, there was something that made him want to stay with this girl, something about her different to everyone else. She was damaged, just like him. The boy even began to hope that he'd see her around. "..Thanks." he completed, stepping away silently towards the desk. |

" Im not going to hurt you. " The voice was apparently his, it sounded so. But, why would he say that? Nynx fear was always a common emotion around men, but how would this boy know that? Curiousity, but more fear filled her brain as her body's first instinct would've been to run away. Did he know her from somwhere? No, she was locked in her house her entire life.... And if not in the house always covered in a black coat... So... How did he know? Nynx felt some sense of comfort, her eyes somewhat softening and her respect for the boy growing. Maybe... Just maybe... She could trust him. 'No!' Nynx shook her head. ' What am I thinking? What if he hurts me too?' Nynx looked down and sighed, the frost freezing the air still. She was becoming cold again. ' You're wrong. He's a good person to trust.' She didn't know if it was her voice or someone else's, but it made her look into the boy's eyes head on, never feeling so confused about a man before. Eleventh and Energy.... He was in the sane grade. Now that she thought about it, the boy seemed to look around her age, but as most boys do, slightly older. More masculine, she guesses she could say. But also.... He didn't want to tell her who he cried for? It was ok, she was used to being left out of things. But also was used to the privacy of someone wanting their secrets. As she wanted to be private about hers. But at the same, she felt as she could tell him anything, and that thought scared her even more. The ease she felt when she was around him, how was that right? She wasn't calm next to the nicest boys, worse around men, and even little boy children sometimes frightened her. So why was it just him? Nynx looked at her now paling white skin, her hands tingling as they tried to hang on to some kind of warm blood. Nynx also wondered what energy was, to try to get offthe other topic. Energy? Like steal energy from others abd become a caffine freak? She wasn't sure how that worked... When he began to leave, the feeling of ease seemed to drift away with him. Like her hapiness seemed to want to crawl up and follow him home. She didn't want to feel alone again, to feel abandoned. To be scared and fall to the floor as a boy walked by, she wanted this easiness to stay. Not knowing how to react, she ahought her freezing cold hand, still becoming colder, and grasped his shirt sleeve, barely stopping him as she gasped and started breathing harder, for it seemed to be slightly harder to breathe. " I- I don't know where to go ether. I'm- Im just so cold and ... And!" Nynx fell on top of the boys shirt, crying diamonds of ice as she clung to him. The pain wouldn't go away, but it dulled when she was around him. The warmth felt good.... |

The tug on the boy's sleeve made him spin around in surprise; the freezing had returned as quickly as it had left the girl's body. Her breathing was more laboured and her touch was unintentionally frosty. As they fell together, Brendan could literally feel her cold, unforgiving pain coursing through his own body. Or.. was it his own? Hesitantly, he wrapped his arms around the crying fox-girl, attempting to comfort her and keep her warm at the same time. All the while, he wondered exactly why he was doing this. He barely knew the girl (sort of; he knew more than he should), and she barely knew him. And yet, he felt a strange pull towards her. He wanted to be there for her. The only question was, who would be there for him? The boy ran a hand through the girl's hair, very careful to make sure that she knew his intentions were honourable. "Listen, maybe we should stick together for a while. It'd be a good idea to get to know someone here." he proposed. "That way.. neither of us will be alone." A tear streamed down his face, and he cursed himself in his head. 'Don't you dare let her see you cry! She doesn't need anymore of this! She can't know that you have depression, and she can't know that it was her you were crying over.' Allowing his hand to leave her head, he quickly wiped away the traitorous tear. Looking down, his deep blue eyes met her own. And then, for the first time in years, he gave a smile; lifting one side of his mouth into a crooked, yet welcoming grin. "So, what do you say we find out where our classes are?" he asked, now wiping away her own, cold tears. "I'll be right here beside you the whole time." Brendan's mind was racing on the inside, battling to be strong for this girl. There was definitely something about her. Something that was keeping him from running away - like he would've done with anyone else. He could barely take care of himself. Scratch that, he couldn't take care of himself. He was a mess just as much as she was, his life in tatters, just like hers. So how was he going to take care of her? He didn't have the answer, only the determination to be able to do it. |

This boy, wasn't normal. He wasn't like normal ones, headstrong guys that would've just left her in the middle of the hallway. The guy actually cared, and something in the back of her head told her that was only because they were the same. The liquid that came out of his eye made her look up to him in a saddened surprise, was it for her? It must've been. A guy crying for her..had she dropped that low? Oh well.... He was warming her up, and he was attempting to comfort her as well. Nothing could be better than that kind of treatment. Neither of us would be alone..this boy was alone. he needed comforting too. Nynx's brain was lagging, but it was still sharper than most. She clenched his shirt even tighter, and whispered in it,' Yes...I think we should. ' She at first said, before looking at him and smiling just a hint. ' I- ' The smile he gave was so radiant it stopped her in her tracks, even if it was only half. It made her heart jump, and she gave him a smile back, not really sure what to say. He seemed to be acting like a guardian, but he didn't seem like the type of guy. He seemed to ... damaged if you knew what she means. Why haden't she run away? Collapsed in the hallway and screamed to leave her alone? That was not a question meant to be answered for her mind wouldn't give the answer. Nynx's cold body shivered as she finally answered," I wan't to take care of you too...You need.... help too...It won't be fair..if you just help me..." She said slowly, as her eyes slowly drifted closed, and her heart stopped beating. Bump...bump...............bump. -------------------- A jump, and than nothing. Th body of Nynx turned furry and stayed in the boy's arms, as it snuggled into the boy. It was a fox with six tails, to be exact. |

A moment of happiness flowed through his mind as she agreed to come along with him, and when she smiled back at him, Brendan felt something he hadn't felt before. He wasn't really sure what it was, but he wanted to keep feeling it. Soon however, the feeling - whatever it was - turned into confusion as the girl offered to take care of him as well. 'Was it really that obvious that I need help' he thought, the smile disappearing at the idea. 'Am I really that pathetic?' The tears began to well up in his eyes once more as he held her. It wasn't like he chose this life, not like either of them did. So why had things happened the way they had? These questions and more ceased to matter as the fox-girl's body became lifeless. Was she dead..? Brendan almsot began to panic, until the girl's body grew.. fur? His eyes grew wide as the girl shapeshifted into her fox form. No.. more accurately, her Fox-spirit Form - the additional five tails was the give away. When she began to nestle into his arms - at least two thirds smaller than she'd been before - the boy held her closely, careful not to drop her. She looked so cute, but at the same time still looked as vulnerable as she'd been before, if not more so now. A look of concern spread across his face, and he pet the fox worriedly. "Hey, can you hear me?" he asked, a begging tone layering his voice. "Please live." ((I wonder where the heck Myridion went..)) Edited by Blue, September 25, 2010, 9:16 am.

((Same here.)) After talking to the principal and offically joining the school, Aamya and Aja left his office. They were in there longer then they imagined, since the beast girl had several questions about Ryohei. They were questions about exactly what he was. Aja became rather curious on what type of race that their principal came from. She was rather interested in almost everyone in her school. For most of her life, she had lived in a clan that was made up of beast people. Some things were new to both her, and her older brother. Onced they enrolled, the siblings got their class schedule and dorm rooms. Since Aja was already late for first period, she made her way to class. As for Aamya, he went to his dorm room. His first period class was math. The subject that he disliked the most. The beastman could never understand math. Why did there have to be so many different problems, when you already know addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division? Either way, he decided to skip class by spending the rest of the remaining time in his dorm room. Ryohei sat patiently in his office. This time, he stayed in his human form, so that no one would get the wrong idea. He enjoyed going into different forms, mostly animals. Though, who would want to walk into the principal's office, and see him as a mocking bird? Oh, they might just ruining his reputation along with the school. The shapeshifter would have to act more professional. Edited by VongolaPrince, September 25, 2010, 9:33 am.

I made a sound somewhat like a our as a hand brushed against my pelt, and I felt myself gradually warm. I knew that boy was there, holding me in his arms, but I made no effort to leave him. I was comfortable, for the first time in my life, even when my mother was alive. I felt the itching come to my eyes, but I wouldn't let myself cry. Not when this kid saw my true form and he looked like he might break any moment. So why was he helping me? It was clear he couldn't quite take care of himself. But, nether could I. That small connection between us seemed small, but at the same time belt as vast as a sea. My eyes started to open when he whispered,' Hey can you hear me?' My ears twitched and I almost laughed. Of course I can. ' Please live. ' My eyes snapped open as I watched him with delicate eyes. Please live? Like he actually cared if I did? I cocked my head, and in his mind, ( yes I'm telapathic ) I said this," Yah you better live to. Your my only friend." I tried to make a smile, which is unatural for most animals, before I nuzzled back into his shirt again, basking in his smell. He smelled of sadness and solitude, but a bit of glee from finding me. He strangely smelled of sun and forests. It smelt good none if the less. My six tails curled underneath me, in a attempt to sleep, but I was always listening to hear his sweet voice again. |
