You underspent significantly. Remember to apply your racial modifiers AFTER spending all your points. With your racial modifiers in place you actually only spent 16 points. Here's a tip. When buying your stats do it in two stages. First start with your "natural" scores, which don't include your racial modifiers. In this case your natural scores would have been str: 12=2 dex: 10=0 con: 12=2 int: 12=2 wis: 16=10 cha: 14=5 which equates to only 21/30 points spent. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT ADD YOUR RACIALS BEFORE BUYING INTO YOUR ABILITY SCORES. If you new the numbers will be way off and you will have spent more points than you needed to in order to get the stats you wanted. |

i've edited my char accordingly so far....you're gonna have to explain how to deal with the skills involved as well and how many "feats" we can select per level...once that's up I'll edit more =w= |

I edited post #21 which contains the majority of instructions and information pertaining to customizing your character. @V&E: No worries, I did the exact same thing the first couple of times I made Pathfinder characters. 3.5 rules are hard to shake, but Pathfinder is much more rounded and exciting, imo. @Kira: I've started your character sheet and edited a few of the rules such as including wolf form for the wolfken. Though your character sheet is by no means finished, you're welcome to request a copy so long as you have a pfd reader like adobe acrobat. In answer to your request you have the following Feats: 1 Skill Points: 8 Please note any prerequisites necessary before choosing a feat. Also keep in mind that at level 2 you will be able to choose a "combat style". With your high dexterity I would like to suggest you consider the Archery style, but the choice is yours of course. Either way, when choosing your feat it might behoove to consider ahead of time which style you're going to use and use your standard feats to further bolster your combat ability. But again, this is just my suggestion; there are dozens upon dozens of feats available, any of which may interest you. You can follow the link in post #21 under the Feats spoiler to direct you to the page containing the full list of feats. The list of skills can be found on the link under the Skills spoiler. Please note that you can have no more than 1 point in any skill at level 1. In addition, any points you place in Class Skills will also receive a further +3 bonus. I honestly don't quite understand. The modifiers are entirely different from what I'm familiar with. >.> And what about negatives? |

Modifiers are the same as normal 3.5. 10=0, 12=+1, 14=+2 and so on. Perhaps you're confusing Modifiers with Ability Score Cost? The 30 points to be spent on Ability Scores doesn't mean you will have a total of 30 +1 modifiers to move around. |

Correct. 7 gives you 4 extra points 8 gives you 2 extra points 9 gives you 1 extra point 10 is free (all scores are naturally supposed to start out at 10) 11 costs 1 point 12 costs 2 points 13 costs 3 points 14 costs 5 points 15 costs 7 points 16 costs 10 points 17 costs 13 points 18 costs 17 points |

Ah, see I wasn't sure if you had any experience with D&D before. I was kinda under the impression that you didn't because your first choice for class was a rogue/monk which is impossible by normal D&D rules (rogues have to be any nonlawful while monks have to by any lawful). Oh I forgot, you're fully customizing your character? You get to make her level 3. |

alright, I'll go ahead and work up the stats. I have a question though, are we factoring in the additional +1 to a stat per 4 levels? (once we get four levels sense I think we start at lvl 3) Edited by Jester, August 31, 2010, 7:04 pm.

Correct. In fact I was also planning on including equipment that boosted ability points rather than standard enchantments. I thought it would give it more of a MMORPG feel. Also, now that I think about it, this RP needs a banner. Anyone want to volunteer? |

Alright, well I have something to throw in. A lot of the skills, such as diplomacy and bluff, and intimidate and such, would only work on NPC's and Monsters because it would be the player behind the character of a PC's choice as to whether or not they believe/agree/or are afraid of you. |

GG neg. In my games if you want to appear intimidating to other players for whatever reason you're able to roll against them. If they themselves can't accept that their characters are intimidated when some one does manage to scare them (and it's a hard thing to do since they get to add various modifiers, plus the fact that you would take a penalty for being considered "trusted" or whatnot) I will enforce the ruling and produce a result. That said, there are certain skills which aren't applicable to this game such as Fly, Heal, a number of the knowledges, and so on. The same goes for certain feats I'm sure. |

See it doesn't quite make sense unless you're using the system of fear simply putting negatives onto a character, and not actually the moral standing of fear. But bluff and diplomacy wouldn't really be applicable against another character because that is the person believing or not believing what the other player is saying with nothing to do with their character. It would be similar to any other MMO if a player says that they just got back from such a such zone, and are bluffing, it has nothing to do with actual in game abilities it has to do with the controller of that character, and the controller of the person they are trying to influence. |

Ever play the Star Wars RPG games? In there you're able to do the whole "*waves hand* these are not the droids you're looking for" thing. In THE WORLD you would have a similar ability. The way it works is like any other rpg. For example... NPC: "those aren't goblin ears... I'm not giving you money for those!" What will you do? <"fine, I'll just have to go out and get some real ears to satisfy you"> <"You'll pay me for these ears or I'll cut YOURS off and sell THEM to the Goblins!"*intimidate*> <"What are you talking about? These are 100% genuine goblin ears!"*lie*> |

indeed. I was expecting them to applicable for NPC's but they wouldn't be effective on other PC's because it's left up entirely to the player of the game if they believe or not. And no, I never played the starwars RPG. |

In normal D&D games I expect me players to refrain from Meta-Gaming, which is something I also intend to enforce here. But you're right, within THE WORLD it's a moot point because the bluffing abilities between PCs would have nothing to do with their THE WORLD characters. |

16 is a +3 Want an easy way of figuring out the mods for any score? The equation is "Score, minus 10, divided in half". *Aoberaz only knows this because he once had to figure out what the modifier of 137 strength was. For the record, it was +63* |
