Itchira nodded, it was a simple sounding plan, though that didn't mean that a lot of stuff couldn't go wrong. Though she had to admit that a two person wipe against a high level alligator would just be embarrassing, especially with their pets.
"It shouldn't be that difficult to find one around here." She said aloud. She had seen on various nature shows that crocodiles and alligators looked like odd logs in the water, but even so it shouldn't be that difficult to spot odd looking logs. "And when we do find one how are we going to lure it away? They aren't limited to the water so if shit hits the fan were going to be running across land with a high level log chasing us."

Issac laughed at the mental image that came to mind of a massive log on stubby legs running after the pair of them and their pets, all making a mad dash with little cartoon spiny running legs under them. Perhaps he had been not getting enough good sleep if he was starting to have those kinds of dreams.
He shook his head clearing away the comical thoughts and looked back to Itchira. "well, it's quite simple really. When we find it, I'll catch a bit of aggro on it, then I'll make my way down the riverbank, probably on the waters edge on on the shore having it tag along till we get down to the turn off near where the fisherman is. Then I'll hit it with prey scent and hope that the gutter fish around get to it to pull it's aggro away from me." he explained. The idea was sound in practice, but the trick was going to be getting the 'high level log' to trail him without getting eaten. "And besides, if things go amiss, I can always let go of Grumpy and just take the reptile for myself." he said with a laugh as though that wouldn't be too hard a task. One can hope, one can hope.
The idea of finding such a creature however was getting more and more difficult however for as the sky darkened the river began to turn darker and darker, shapes began to merge, and the visuals of what the characters could see were beginning to get less near the water were fewer fireflies flew. "Cursed but to have an owl." He said with a laugh and a shrug. He then stopped and pointed up ahead. "I think we've got a taker." He said. pointing up ahead towards a slightly darker form in the river. The river this far up was much wider, making so it was likely they would have to go into the river to get within rang of drawing the creatures attention.

Kaidi felt the thing brush past her, and as she did so, she froze. Her eyes widened, her heart skipping a beat with shock. Jesus Christ, what the hell was that? Freezing in place, the startled priest cast shadowed eyes around at the surface of the water, but it offered only beguiling reflections, darkness and ripples where she'd just jumped out of her skin.

Just ahead was another patch of water lilies. Should she risk it?

Aw, hell. She'd do it just to get it out of her quest log, neaten it up a bit. That was so perfectionist, and vaguely annoying to herself. Heh, anyway, she needed to get on. It was just river weed, she reassured herself, and gave a grimace. Whatever it was, she wasn't going to stand here all night because of it. Taking a cautious step forwards, she allowed a slight sigh of relief to pass her lips. She'd better get the rest of those roots quickly.

As Kaidi stepped out again to hurry and get her roots which she required for the botanist the water rippled again and before she knew it she felt the clench of something around her right leg, compressing her robes there. As to what it was that snatched her she did not know but before no sooner had it grabbed hold of her than it jerked harshly giving her a massive tug and dragging her under the water. [no, this is not taking it to the combat page. XD ]
The water swirled around her as something sped by and her leg was drug for but a moment and then released. It hadn't been the dull pain of damage or injury but rather just a hard grip. The water swirling around her, and then what ever was holding her was gone.

A shrill scream pierced the night as the same thing grabbed her leg from beneath that shining surface. The fear which had grasped her heart a minute ago did so now with more force - it was almost painful, almost embarassing, how scared she was.

In fact, this kind of made her remember that film - what was it, now? There was a boy in it called Luke or something, and he'd fallen into this giant trash compactor, and there was something under the water trying to pull him under. Star Wars, that was it. It was an old film, practically ancient, but despite how she wasn't in the middle of some star ship or whatever, it was kind of the same as to what was happening now.

Before she could muse any more on this, though, she was yanked beneath the water. There was barely time to hold her breath before the cold pressed down and up and all around her little form. She was glad that her eyes didn't smart when they were left open in this dirty water, as that would have been annoying, though by the time that the swirling debris had filtered away, her wild thrashing had stopped, and the thing had released her leg, whatever it was had long been gone.

Pulling herself up to the surface in shock, Ianna had Kaidi sit down beneath a particularly twisted-looking tree, whose gnarled boughs and roots were well-illuminated by fireflies, and pulled up her quest log again. There was nothing about strange creatures pulling people under, near the roots. Perhaps she'd report it and see what it was. This time she'd stick closer to the shallows, her close encounter still on her mind.

Itchira followed, also watching the water, primarily close to the shore as she didn't want to be surprised by anything. When she heard him mention a taker she looked to where he was pointing and saw the silhouette. She was unsure what it was, it could be everything from a tree to an area where the dirt was higher in the water.
"Want me to focus a spell toward it?" The question was one more to see what the thing was, as if it was a log or dirt then it would be a waste, if it was an alligator however Itchira figured she could probably get far enough away beore it reached her.

As she pulled herself up to the roots of the three there was a light stalking sound from far to kaidi's right. It was a sound, not quite loud enough to be certain, but it sounded like laughter. The sort of laughter one hears when someone finds something hilarious rather than just funny. It was hard to pick out what it was that was making such a sound in the dark, but there was the sound none the less, farther down the river.
The night seemed to become more quite at the stopping of the sound that took place only a moment or so after having heard it. There was left with the chirping of little night insects which one could only wonder if the anal retentive programmers of this game had given an AI of their own or not, and there, out where it had been sat the lily waiting to be harvested from.

Issac looked over at his partner as she asked if she should target it. He just shook his head giving the whip in his hand a little shake. "No, it's better if you don't get targeted. I'll just trot out a bit and give it a lash and then get back to shore and we can start the chase." He said with a smirk. he then started to wade out into the river once again his legs slowly disappearing more and more into the dark shimmering liquid. When he was about chest deep he gave the whip an outwards flick to spread it, held it up and then brought it back and then forwards, and snapping it back again as the stranded end flailed at the figure. There was a great popping sound and Issac went to jump backwards and start to break for the shore when he saw that the figure was not moving, save for a bob and turning some after the whip struck it. he sighed and just laughed. "well looks like that was just a bit of driftwood." He said with a shrug, starting to wade back to shore.

In the real world the eastern standard time was beginning to reach close to 4 in the morning.

Having thought that she would finally be freed from malice, Kaidi had relaxed into the trunk of the tree somewhat. No sooner had she managed this than a peal of laughter, more malignant to her ears than the ensnaring thing around her leg had felt, emitted itself from lower down the river.

Having had the second heart attack in the space of ten minutes, Kaidi gave a low growl. Her all accomodating patience was beginning to wane thin; this was a game, after all, was it not? She could beat it. She would beat it.

Thus, when the hair-raising cackles died away, and the cicadas resumed their evening song - which, by the way, was extremely irritating after about five minutes - she stood up properly. That water lily would be hers to harvest - and then she'd hunt down the laughing joker and see what they had to say for themselves.

...

Actually, maybe she'd just stick with harvesting the water lilies.

Itchira nodded letting Issac attack the possible alligator. Watching as he waded into the river then brought his whip up and struck. As he came back she noted that the black mass didn't really move much, just kinda floated and bobbed some.
"This would be much easier if we had something for a light." She said with a laugh. It may be easier or harder, after all most likely any light they have will just show them whats around them, so the most that they may know is what they are going to walk into, or onto as the case may be.

Issac sighed and nodded to his companions comment. "True, a light would be great, or a pet with night sight." He said as he shook his head. If they had night sight then he could simply use his creature trait ability to gain it himself, but at it stood he was only able to gain the trait from that of the creatures he had, neither of which had night sight.

"We could always go pick up a touch. I need to get one anyways." He suggested. They could pick up torches from whiterock. They were good for holding light and they lasted for a total of an hour light per torch. Off to the side, a few lights could be seen wandering though the plans off in the distance, probably also players with torches.
There was also lanterns, but they used candles and through they had certain perks, like them being a more focused item, they didn't stay light as long, unless you spent the money for a oil lamp, which would burn for about half again as long as a torch on a thing of oil, and then just need a refueling.

(oh so short)

Itchira sighed some as she thought about it. Walk to Whiterock, buy a torch, walk back, bug some alligators, book-it, use alligator to annoy gutterfish, kill whatever survives. "Sounds like a plan." She laughed, "Its better than wading out and kicking logs."

Issac chuckled and nodded. He then shook his arms and legs out and then started to walk back along the river towards whiterock. As they walked along though he tilted his head as a small notice box popped up in his vision. he looked over to his traveling companion and spoke up. "one sec, I've got a message" he said as he opened it up. he kept walking, but his eyes were scanning around in front of him, not that it was easy to tell with the dark of the night.
It was a notice from one of his coworkers who was actually on duty at the moment. He grinned to himself. He would often get random 'I'm bored' mail from his fellow testers and mods when he wasn't on the clock. He jotted back a response and then sent it on it's way. Returning his attention to the cornucopia of sounds in the night he looked about once more. "So you check the boards often?" Issac inquired, trying to make some small talk as they went along.

Itchira was quick t follow after him, not wanting to lose him in the dark. as they walked she somehow managed to pass him, though that may have been because she was starting to notice familiar shapes on the ground, thouhg that could just be the night playing tricks on her. She curses the in ability to crank the contrast up to negate the darkness as per many games.

She barely heard him state to her that he had a message. And again barely heard him ask if she checked the boards. "No, I only look on those when I find a bug, and thats only to report it. Though I may go on to report their 'fun' hidden chest system...If you can call falling into a large pit and hitting your ass on a chest 'fun'...that shit hurts...well it would if you didn't just feel a light tap in here...yea Im not exactly sure where Im going with this so feel free to stop me at any time...preferably before I start stating something odd...cuz I probably will...I start nervously rambling on about random shit...seriously just you know...say when and stuff..."

(XD yay for late night posts of randomness)

Issac cocked an eyebrow as they walked along. The girl said more in the last minute than she had in the entire time they had been working together. It didn't bother him though. It got things off of the slightly awkward feeling of unease that he had had previously about the girls silence. Either way he just chuckled and shook his head. "heh, it's alright. It's not like we're trying to keep quiet or anything." He said as he checked back at the boar and wild dog that were fallowing them. He sent the mental command for Grumps to head over towards the side, and the wild boar trotted out farther from the river. He then had it sit and they carried on without it. He would eventually when they were far enough away release subjugation over the creature, because the boars weren't so well received in whiterock, so it would be easier to get products without the boar, it would also save him hassle with the guards. He then turned his attention back to the girl he was walking with. "But the reason why I ask is because the possible sub-event coming up, figured I'd see if you had any ideas what it might have been." He himself wasn't sure. Because though he worked for KSI, he was a tester, and not focused on the management of the events or creation of them, and his admin coworkers were keeping a tight lip about it all.

Itchira sighed some before shaking her head, "No, but they will probably let us know soon right?" She laughed some before looking behind her to see her rat laying down. She would need to get a new one later. The NPC's in towns and cities don't really seem to enjoy seeing an undead walking around, the guards especially. It probably didn't matter though, just a simple kill then raise and she would have a new undead following her.

(ok, no more procrasinating. We will push forwards!!! ^(0.0)^ )

Issac just laughed as well. "You never know, they might just drop it on us all at once and not give us any other warning." he said and then grumbled something to himself in German. In actuality he was grumbling about his coworkers not dropping him so much as a hit about what was going on. It was rather off putting to be honest, but it was of little matter in the long run.
They made their way along the river bank, and luckily didn't run into any creatures that were naturally aggressive. They spotted several things darting around in the dark, but nothing that came close enough to be made out. They finally got back to the dip in the cliff and after wading across they were greeted by fields of fireflies. Outside of the island they were here and there making things a little eerie but a little easier to see from time to time. On the island itself, it was like there was whole fields full of them, lighting up the night with their soft blinking glow. making their way back to the walled gates of whiterock the nights of the city were not as busy as the day, and many of the NPC's that filled the streets had retired to their houses, leaving more room for those whom wished to move about. As then entered the city Issac looked over and asked "is it alright if we get them from Tross's?" Tross's was one of the few night shops in Whiterock, and it was a general store run by a middle aged olive skinned man.

"But if its a sub-event then it wont exactly be as bad than if it was a...say...game changing patch, like removing a class or power." Itchira said with a laugh. She then heard Issac say something in German, which she wasnt really that fluent in so needless to say she didn't catch a word of it.

The pair passed through a field of fireflies causing Itchira go give a lot of 'Ooo's. The game was truly quite pretty, amazingly so.

When they finally arrived at the city it was fairly empty of NPC's, which was understandable as the city was 'alive'. When she was asked about going to a shop she just nodded, it didnt matter much to her where they go for the torches, and besides they were out in the middle of the 'night' its not like they had that many options so being stingy wasn't in the 'option list'.

Issac passed down the city streets, now kept visible by street lamps that were stationed every so often. It still cast a bit of a dull mystery game feel to things as they made their way through the streets towards their destination. As they made their way along Issac came to a stop in front of a building that had a large window in the side of it along with a banister across the bottom of it. The window was open, and on the far side of the banister was what seemed to be an oil lamp. Behind the window, seeming to be sat down was Tross. He had a long forehead and slightly graying hair and in his hand he sipped something from a metal mug. He gave a light smile at the newcomers. The window had no glass so he was sat there right next to them. "Welcome welcome. Fine evening isn't it?" He said in a pleasant enough voice. "Indeed it is" Issac replied. "Would you happen to have any torches we could buy from you?" He went on to ask. Tross nodded almost to himself it seemed. "yes, yes I've got some torches. How many would you like?" He asked. two should be fine. Was the response from Issac. The shop keeper nodded again and walked back from the window after standing up out of his seat. he returned a moment or so later with two thick, smooth sticks with sizable, round cloth wrapped ends. He set them on the banister/counter at the bottom of the window and nodded. "There yeh are. That'll be 40 gold." the shop keeper responded. Issac in turn nodded and reached into his clothing and pulled out a money purse. he drew out 40 coins and put them on the counter. Tross gathered them up and after a quick count offered a casual "Come again". Issac then turned and headed off again with his companion, slipping one of the torches away and holding the other out to Itchira. "here, I can't use one very well while in the water, and less so when I'm using my spear." he said. As a two handed weapon he couldn't hold a torch while using his spear so the necromancer would have to hold the torch when the time came.

Bright-eyed and bushy-haired, Kaidi finally gathered the courage to approach the water again. That blue star water lily looked so very tempting - if she got the quest out of the way now, she wouldn't have to worry about it later. Still, the idea of those monsters being in the water still made her shudder. Jeez, girl, would ya just look at yourself? You're a wimp, I tell you! A wimp! Maybe a little bit more self-depreciation would man her up enough to harvest that lonely, deceptively innocent little flower...

"Ah, bugger it," she muttered, "Here comes Ianna, whether she likes it or not!" Taking an energetic step forwards, she extended a hand out and began harvesting. Nothing pulled her under so far...

The little dialogue box cropped up a few moments later, and she groaned. Not the root she'd been looking for, then. Damnit! Damnit to Hell, or whatever the equivalent was in this game-world (she hadn't researched it a lot, to be perfectly honest). And - yes, she could hear her alarm clock beeping. That meant it was time for her to take off the VR goggles and actually sleep, which was unfortunate; she'd been hoping to actually accomplish a little more than pwning a few wild boar and collecting a couple roots.

Bringing up the box for safe log-out, she felt the tired burn of her eyes and carefully, feeling that her limbs were still heavy from the sleeping pill's eight hours of dead sleep, removed the game console from her face. Placing it almost tenderly back within its box, she switched off her alarm, curled up, and fell almost instantly back to sleep.

Itchira remained behind Issac the whole time he bought the torches, then followed him as he left. "Thanks." She said as she took the torches. She knew that she would need to use both torches, as even if he was using a one handed weapon the chances of keeping the torches dry was slim.

(slight lead ahead otherwise all your getting is above and thats bloody short >_< )

The walk back to the river was shockingly uneventful. Lighting the torch she held it toward the water more so they could see the gators.

(and its still short XD yay >_< )

As they made their way towards the river the fireflies on the island danced about. After making to over the dip in the cliff and onto the land past the river, the more isolated light have a are eerier feeling that it had prior. After all, before this was just how it was, but now they were just returning from brighter areas and there was now subtle decrease to the light. This gave the landscape a far more dreaded feel to it. as they made their way along the river, torch light by simple activation Issac was looking about. Hey had managed to once again avoid the larger night predators, but there was not as many in this starting region as there had been, so it wasn't as bad. However he sighed when a small flashing light came up to his attention to the side. He opened it and sure enough there it was, his notice that in the outside world it was now going on 5am. He sighed and looked over to Itchira. "well, looks like I have to log off and get set for work so I won't be able to help you drag a gator back to the area. But the Gutter fish we cleared should stay gone for at least another game day. So you should be able to clear it up before they repopulate." He offered apologetically.

Itchira sighed some before nodding. "Yea, I'll kill a fish and use that to kill more." She waved some before quickly adding him to her friend list. "Ill talk to you later I guess."

Stretching some she moved over toward where the gutter fish would be, thinking of a plan. She could probably just keep draining one over and over, then make a skeleton from said fish, then use it to kill the others. As she guessed that these gutterfish acted much like piranha, rip flesh from bone, but not much they can do against bone. Though teeth is always a bitch on everything.

(Legal double post)

The Gutter fish wasn't much of a problem once she killed it off, a few undead fish later and she had finished them all off. Only really finding two gutterfish scales, though that was probably because she had to bring a few back and she couldn't search those. She gave a sigh as she started back to the fisherman. She could feel her stomach starting to growl, she would turn this in then go eat.

Though as she was walking back she decided she would log eat then turn in the quest. With a sigh she hit the log button and waited until everything shut down.

[yes the post was approved. XD ] [alright folks, here's how it's going to go down. I'm'a post a day activity for my guy, you can feel free to post your own day activity or paraphrase it all and lead into a re'logging post. Up to you. If you're going to be logging again before Robert's work day ends do so, cause I'll be running you personally then.]

The world had gone black and Robert stretched out. the muscle suppressant had worn off but he had fallen asleep by then so it hadn't caused any conflicts. bringing his hands up to the headset slowly he removed it and just kind of let it lay there over head head for a moment. He was definately going to have to get a proper night's sleep tonight because he was starting to feel drained. He had been on the net so much it was starting to ware on him. He also still had to run to the gym at some point so he started to slowly set what he planned to do that day. Either way the man stretched out a bit, sat up in bed and turned to look at the headset. He sighed and went about packing it back away. After it was done he walked over and clicked up his computer. As the light flashed through the monitor he sighed and yawned. He brought up his work fine and started to jot down a few notes he'd noticed in the night passed and the gameplay and such. When he had submitted the file he stood up and headed off to grab a shower. After he had washed and gotten dressed he got some breakfast, a single fried egg on toast, and then got on his shoes and got his laptop packed and read. He walked over to his tower after tying his shoes and removed the zip-drive with his files on it and stuck it into his pocket. he then shut down his tower and heading to the door he unlocked it, stepped and, and then locked it again and it was off to the transit to work, which was a total of a 30 minute walk down the street.
[work post coming later. So yes, you're allowed to post about you every day life and not just the game. :3 ]

Sera sighed and stretched, before slowly removing the headset. "Okay why didn't you activate?" She asked as she set the headset down and moved over to the timer, before sighing as she saw it wasn't moving. "Died...great..." She sighed as she moved into her kitchen and opened the fridge. Grabbing the milk she opened it and drank some before putting it back in the fridge, "Okay food."

Her look around her kitchen revealed that unless she felt like eating cardboard she would probably need to go get food. A sigh came from her as she opened a drawer and grabbed a doubleA battery then put it in the timer and set it for the right time. "Useless piece of crap." She sighed before starting around her apartment.

She gathered some cloths and a towel, deciding to take a shower to run some time away until everywhere opens up so she can go get some food.
