The breeze felt nice and Miz took that moment to read over the quest again while still enjoying the breeze. A pack of wild dogs were harassing people as they traveled to and from WeißerStein, she was asked to thin out to numbers to drive them away. Easy enough.

Taking the next moment to look around before starting toward WhiteRock, she saw a horseman off some ways, probably around here because he didnt want his mount being eaten. Then a group of people slightly closer. She gave a light shrug and decided to go see what they were doing, perhaps she could get some help, or help them. After all groups are always smarter to travel with than going alone.

She stopped near the group and listened.

S-20 smiled and nodded. "That sounds like fun. I've never been to any of the fishermen huts. They're all too far out for me to get there." She said with a bit of a sheepish grin and rubbing the back of her neck. And it was true, the fishermen were all out on the edge of the inner island, and the animals were still known to be tougher farther from the city you got. There was even a pocket of giant ants out near the river around the island before they were wiped out, and hadn't repopulated yet. Those who ventured out of the starting island town of Whitestone usually either did so in a considerable group, or did so after they reached level 5.
"I was supposed to hut 7 more of these Giant, but I think I'd rather go to that fisherman thing instead." She said with a grin. The quest list was mostly all just salvage searching and population control up until now.

The group off to the side was stood there bickering back and forth. They were speaking English, but a very strong and slightly varied accent of it from the American style that The German born and recently American lived girl was used to. They shouted and pointed and laughed. There was one person who was out to the edge and back just a ways from the group there was a man who was sat there chuckling. He was clad in what seemed to be some sort of segmented plate armor that wasn't usual equipment. there was a few of them in the groups that had it on as well. The man sat over to the side had short cut hair and a beard.

Itchira gave a light nod before turning, she motioned for her rat to come back over and it did but she made sure to tell it to stay behind them. "The fisherman is up this way." She said with a smile and motioning toward the direction of the fisherman.
She gave another smile as she started walking toward the fisherman hut. With help it should be easy to take out anything that gets in their way, assuming they don't get unlucky and aggro a lot of them. The rat will act as a damage sponge, their tank, even if a little weak. S would be able to deal some damage on the creature, and Itchira had her drain life and heal her undead rat.
Which actually reminded her, turning around for a second she cast Unholy word, this way by the time they get in a new fight she would be at full mana and her rat would have more hp to work with. Once she cast it she turned back around and continued walking.

Miz continued listening the bickering before slowly moving over to the man, his armor marked him clearly as a higher level.
"Um." She said slowly, "What's going on?" Her voice wasn't quiet and held her accent within but she was hesitant. Not because she was scared, but rather because they were most likely higher level. She didn't want to impose, but she did want to help. Perhaps she could level, that would be nice as then she could make better equipment, like pants that were better than what she wore currently.

The land to the north of whiterock up to the river shore where the fisherman's hut sat was rather unseemly really. It was a rather simple task if they should so wish to get around the rats without purposefully going into the fray, but the area beyond was another matter. Out about mid plain between them and the river there was wild boar. Nasty creatures with a nasty disposition and holding anywhere from a 1-3 challenged rating on the island. Not that big a deal, save for the fact that it was rather harsh on newer players. The truly horrible thing about the boars, and this holds true for almost any size or level, is their ability known as tenacity. They were able to postpone death, even after the reaching of 0 hp, for up to 10 seconds in oder to deal as much damage as possible to their target. They are also immune to knock back and impalement. This ordeal left for rather nasty work regardless of the levels in involved. [provided of course that the character is scaled to the area.] The area past beyond the group was pocketed with the animals, and as they drew onward, the two women and rat saw that their path was somewhat blocked by a pack of a three of them in the distance some. These or course were rutting about chewing on shrubs, and grass, and anything else they could find.
S-20 seemed very uneasy by the sight, but she tired to hide it, not wanting to look like a scary cat in front of her new found savior. "Um, perhaps we should go round and try and find a clear spot to pass." She said, trying to be helpful and hint at it was a bad idea to try and get through these.

The man over to the side turned his head and looked up at the girl when she approached. He just kept chuckling and shook his head. He had a wide grinned smirk on his face. "These bleed'n idiots are part o the same Guild. The two sides can't agree on what the bleed'n area they want ta focus their efforts on, so they're argue'n it out, and from the looks o' it they'll be split'n." He said with a full chested laugh.
Guilds were curious things. Factions of players joined together to share experience, recourses, aid each other, and take part in events and quests that are only available to guilds. You had to be at least Lvl 10 to make a guild, and you have to have the guild start with at least 3 members when you go to register it. As such there are very few guilds because there are very few players (only a handful which are not Beta testers from back in the employee only betas) that were over Lvl.10 and most of them were already in a guild with one another. The strong stick together and all that.

"A guild." Miz said as she looked back toward the group, well that made sense, most were in the same armor as this guy. However that meant that a large majority of them was over level ten. "So...do you think I could tag along with one of the groups? Or are you going to be fighting things I wont be able to handle."
A bit of help would always be nice, but then again if they were much higher than her then the use of bringing her along would be useless as she would become a sponge for their healer, her little hp by comparison meaning that their healer would need to heal her more.

The man just laughed and shrugged. "It'd be up ta them on whether or not they'd be will'n ta take you along. Though I'd say from check'n you, ye're not that high up are yeh?." He asked, though not in a insulting manor. "This lot are planning on trying to make a break out of Ereumana. If'n ye're think'n ye're up ta it feel free ta ask. But as for you're word'n, It's not 'you' cause I'll not be joining them." He said with a laugh. There wasn't many who had left Ereumana, for the regions outside of it were all scaled above lvl.9. Some of them considerably so, even though they where directly along side the starting region. It was something that would be quite a handful for someone at a low level unless in a large group. "Sure enough, there yeh are." He said, tapping away manually something that had popped up in front of him. as the groups stopped talking, some of them manually tapped something, others didn't, doing so mentally. And with a few last retorts they headed off in opposite directions, while the man sat just shaking his head in amusement, and tilting his head to the side, a moment later his armor changed to that of regular (and slightly scoffed) heavy Iron Plate. Looking over to Miz he held a finger up to his lips in the 'shhh' kind of way in a wink and a grin. It wasn't unheard of in other games for higher level characters to downsize their equipment when in lower level zones to reduce the amount of attention they drew. So it wasn't unlikely to see it here. Though th fact that the man was waring plate mail and a Great Sword with both the true level and down sized equipment as well(as strange as the higher plate had seemed) took up a good bit of weight. It would also seem that he wasn't out to leave the region just yet either.

Itchira and S-20 easily avoided the rats, however as they passed hopfully the last rat they saw their next objective was boars. Itchira sighed as she looked over the enemies infront of her. It was going to be tricky to make it through here.
When she heard S-20 she nodded, "Agreed." She said weakly, "It will indeed be better to avoid the hassle of avoiding them and just take a little longer to reach the fisherman."

Itchira smiled to S and started toward the side, looking for any place where they will be less likely to get slaughtered by boars.

Miz froze lightly when he said they would be trying to get out of Ereumana, there was no way she would survive that. As they started tapping away at things Miz was mentally sighing.
When the groups started leaving Miz slowly looked up and saw that the man she was talking to hadn't left, and was giving her the sign not to tell. "Um...why didn't you want to leave? You should be high enough to leave here." Her gaze was more or less falling to the ground again, "I mean why would you want to remain in a low level zone?"

A bit farther to the east there seemed to be a clear area. This was still within the first zone of the first region, so combat was avoidable to a degree, though if one avoided it all too often they wouldn't likely be able to level and progress to being able to handle it better. But a little farther down they found a opening to get through. S-20 constantly looking about to make sure that everything was ok and clear. One they passed that second line up ahead to the north a small little shack could be seen. It was a simple enough building, wooden roof, and slightly shoddy walls. The Island itself didn't slope into the water, but rather was raised with little cliffs to stop the sea beasts from getting up into the newbie area. And it was over one such cliff that a man was sat on a stool, fishing rod in hand tapping his foot to himself, a small cat curled up next to his stationary foot.

The man just smiled. "Promise yeh won't laugh?" He asked with a chuckle, and without bothering to wait for a reply he continued. "Couple 'o reasons really. One, I've got a thing fer helping out newer players. Call it a good deed complex if'n yeh must, and that lot are just growing thin on me. Two, I was get'n tired of the bickering going on in the guild anyways. Politics and what not, and I'd just as well wait it out and maybe do a whee bit more grinding around the lower bits till I'm ready to venture out." He said with a grin. "So how about yue? what brings you all the ways out ta Kines? I ask cause I'm not entirely sure. Yeh seem ta be under 6 with the equipment ye've got on, but It's always been hard fer me ta tell with Brawlers." He said with a laugh. It wasn't hard to figure out what she was after all. They were the only unarmed class in the game, and otherwise she would have had to have her weapon unequipped, and at the moment she had a set of knuckles equipped which no other class had access too. So it wasn't hard to figure out.

A light sigh came from Itchira as they worked their way around the boars. She knew they would have to fight them eventually but its always best to do so in a location where one can have the best advantage, and where they wont get any adds.
As the two cleared the boars Itchira sighed and started toward the Fisherman. Sighing again she stopped behind him, "Um. I had a quest to come talk to you." Looking to S-20 she added, "Do you have any quests we can do?"

Miz nodded as she listened, she could understand that, don't want to go and get slaughtered by creatures if you aren't ready. However when he asked why she was here she replied, "Well I'm not that high level actually. I'm only level four." She said with a light blushing, "I would be higher but I only take one quest at a time, its much easier this way but involves a lot more running around."
She looked down toward the ground, her gaze on her hands, where a light flick of her wrists caused the sun to glare off her knuckles. "Besides I like doing it this way as I can level more, and get more gold in the long run because I have to fight more enemies. You know more drops and such."

The elderly man on the stool looked back to the set of girls once before returning his attention to the water down below the cliff in front of him. the smell of the river wafted up from the cliff and the breeze and sounds of the water flowing and lapping against the rocks was a reminder of the realism of this game. "So who was it that sent you and what did they want?" He asked gruffly. All the NPC's where independent from one another and so there would likely be several people in the world that would at one point or another need someone to go to the fisherman's hut. (You can feel free to make something up here.)
To the side of his foot, the cat stretched out lazily. This of course drew S's attention, who girlishly 'Awww'ed and walked over and pet the virtual cat, which felt and behaved like a real on. The cat was tolerant of her petting, though it didn't seem to be overly enthusiastic about it.

The man nodded. "I see. Se yeh must have grabbed a quest that asked yeh ta run all the way out 'ere fer something. But don't folks usually travel in groups when they're leave'n to their scale zones?" He inquired curiously. "I'd be a shame if'n yeh came cross a bear 'er a fellrat while yeh were out here alone. Let alone one of them PKing bastards." He added. Bears and fellrats were the highest level creatures in the region. (or could be depending on the zone you encounter them in) Though Giant ants proved more of an issue considering the numbers the congregated in. And at the moment with the warp gating system down for maintenance people were not able to use the city warp gates to get from one to another and had to transverse the terrain between the two on foot. (Though there was only two cities in this region so it wasn't that much of a loss, and small towns and such rarely had warp gates.) A wide smile spread across his mouth and he chuckled. "Well, I reckon I'll come 'long and lend a hand ta get you where you need to be going. Who knows I might get in my head to start a guild again." He said with a laugh and a wink as he picked up his sword and stood up, sliding it into a sheath on his back. With such a large sword in reality it would be impossible to sheath or unsheathe it on his back, but it was a game after all, and through there was a large amount of realism in this game, it was still shifted to make things a little more fun, as the sheath itself simply held and released the sword from and to the wielders grasp.

Itchira smiled some as she took everything in. This game was amazing, one could literally lose themselves in the game and swear it was truly real. It could easily end up being the game that reminds gamers who they are and why they play games. And its only a beta right now.

She snapped out of her trance when she heard the fisherman ask who sent her. "Oh." She said before lightly giggling when S went over and started petting the cat. Bringing up her quest she started reading over it some before saying, "Inn keeper Natalia. She is apparently worried that you haven't sent anything to her in a while."
Her vision cleared as she looked to the fisherman trying not to get lost in the game again.

Miz gave a light laugh as her hand moved behind her head and she started rubbing her neck some. "Actually I just kinda randomly walked over here." She stated with another laugh, "But I haven't encountered much danger, I also haven't seen a PKer yet which is nice. Granted knowing my luck Ill say that and bump into a PKer or bear around the next tree or something."
When the man stated he would help her she smiled some and said, "Well I have to kill some wild dogs right now if you don't mind killing some weak dogs then I will be happy to have you tag along."

The old man gave off a 'Bah!' and shook his head, pointing down the cliff towards the water. "I ain't sent her nothing cause I ain't had nothing to send. Them damn Gutterfish are at it again, eating up all the fish and not leaving none for my line." He said, spitting in disgust.
Gutterfish were long wide mouthed fish about 3 feet long by 1 foot wide. They tended to frequent large bodies of water, and would eat anything they came across. And though they are technically edible for people, it's mostly monsters and creatures that feed on them, most notably certain mounts that are usually fed on gutterfish diets. however the meat tends to taste like what ever hey have had for the last week or so.
"If'n they get cleared up, I'll be able to ship along some stuff for Natalia." He said and pulled out an apple and took a bite of the juicy fruit.

The man blinked and started to laugh. His head flung back at the fullness of the laughter. After a moment of the full chested explosion, he shook his head and slowly regained control, wiping a tear from his eyes. "Oh, hooo. Lord, yue sure ye're not a thief with 'at kind of luck? dear heavens lass." He said with a final laugh and shook his head to clear his mind of it. "So what 'ave yeh got in terms o these whee pups? It won't do us no good ta wonder round butcher'n random ones less ye're look'n fer salvage." He said. It was true. If the NPC who gave the quest wanted certain dogs cleared up it wouldn't do them much good to butcher wild dogs that weren't the ones that were causing the problems. However is someone was just wanting wild dog teeth, or even the pelts or meat, any wild dogs would do save for a few exceptions. In all actuality, though it was rarely done, the hunt for salvage was actually a rather high end task. Many Players would put out personal quests to pay for people to go farm for them. It wasn't that often seeing as many didn't know they could do that at all, and salvage was easier to come by than gold, but it was done form time to time.

Miz gave a light 'uh' as the man started laughing. She didnt see what was so funny, her luck was bad her first enemy she had fought with she ended up missing nearly seventeen times. And her first non-beginner quest she received was one leveled much greater than she was. Granted currently he luck has been fairly good.

When he asked about her quest she said, "Well the guard said he wanted the ones between WhiteRock and here cleared out. There's no number but he said that all I need to do is clear enough for them to dissipate. So I'm guessing I just need to kill them until they run away." She gave a weak laugh before adding, "Shouldn't be too hard. Right?"

Itchira moved forward and looked into the water below, "So. That a quest? If we clear some of them away, i mean." She had no clue exactly how high level the fish was though. Though she was slightly worried that scaring away the Gutterfish would scare away the other fish, and fighting them would probably do the same.
Slowly she looked back to S-20 to figure out what she wanted to do, unless she was still paying attention to the cat only.

The man was in the process of taking a deep breath when he heard her response, and there after choked and took to coughing. when he had finally gotten himself cleared he looked to her with an incredulous look about his face. "A'tween wha!?! Ye've got ta be josh'n me lass. It's over 3 zones a'tween here and whiterock. There's no way one person can 'ope ta clear that." He said, shocked at the lunacy of the quest. The man ran his hand through his hair and shook his head. "I hate ta say it, but it sounds like yeh got yerself a dud quest there girlie. Best I'd say ta just report it an' 'ope no other sods got snared inta the thing." He said in dismay. It wasn't common, but there was the odd dud quest that popped up from time time to time, where an NPC gives a quest that is beyond what is feasible or even possible in the game. It is bound to happen when every NPC has it's own complete stand alone AI. Reporting is done simply by E-mailing/messaging the administrator of the region in which the NPC resides. From there the NPC is dealt with according to the severity of the issue in case. At worst case (or repeat offenders) the NPC has their ability to issue quests revoked. Something almost no NPC is overly fond of the idea of. "Bogs, 'ow about this. Ta make it up to yeh, I'll take yeh ta do a whee bit of power upping. What do yeh say?" He said with a wink. 'Power upping' as he put it, or what is formally referred to as power leveling, is when a character of high level takes a character of a lower level to an area of higher level than that of the lower member, and helps them gain large amounts of EXP by helping them kill (or doing the work themselves) high level monsters that the lower level would not be able to handle on their own.

The old man bawked at Itchira. "Quest this, quest that, I ain't some fancy knight in frills, I said I can't get the stinking fish out of the river cause of the gutterfish. If you are going to go clear them out, then get going, if not, then clear out yourself." The old man barked, a small bit of spittle streaming out of his mouth as he talked through his aged lips. Much like in reality, wording varied greatly from person to person. What an official might call an order, a simpler person might call a request, or a favor. And to some ornery folk like this old man, using certain wording simply put them on edge.
The outburst shocked S who was still petting away at the feline companion of the elderly man. She was started and stood up suddenly, slightly confused as to what was going one. "Hu?" She said, looking over to Itchira she itched over to her and leaned in to whisper, "Why is the grandpa so mad? what happened?" She inquired confusedly.

Miz sighed some when she was told she got a dud quest, she hadn't gotten one of those yet but she heard of them. "Damd." She said quietly to herself before looking toward the man. Her luck hadn't quite turned around it seemed.

She gave another sigh before giving a light 'wha?' when she heard him say he would power level her. "Um...thanks." She said weakly.
Alright perhaps her luck hadn't completely turned around but apparently she still didn't have complete bad luck. This was good. Plus if she leveled up enough she could do any quest she found in this area, assuming she didn't encounter another dud.

Smiling to the man she lightly bowed her head in acknowledgment, incase the thanks wasnt enough, before saying, "I'm Miz."

Itchira was confused about what just happened as well, "I said quest to him." She told S when she asked what happened. The word quest sent him off, this was a first for her.
She slowly thought about it her mind slowly piecing it together. Quest sent him off but the way he said it still made it sound like one. "We will try and help you with your gutterfish troubles." It was the wording, while it wasn't a 'quest' in the typical sense it was close. "Right S?"

The man extended out a large leathery hand to pat the girl on the shoulder. "No worries lass. No worries at all. That's how 'at guild there started after all. Big ones help'n out whee ones, and it just grew." He said with a wink."I'm Aiken." He said and he started to make his way north ward up towards the border of the region. "Best ways ta get cross the river when we're want'n ta power level yeh is ta run through the Steps." He explained. The Steps was a nickname that some of the players who had reached it have given the zone called water step islands. It was the group of small land formations in the river along the north most point of the river in the region. And there were some rather unpleasant creatures residing there. It was also where some of the most high leveled water creatures where in the region, but it was a good place for their goal, because should it get to be too much, they could always retreat back onto the land formations. "Oh, afore I ferget..." He said as he started walking, and a square popped up in the bottom of Miz's sight, it was what happened when a window was prompted for sight, once opened, it would contain the group invite from Aiken.

S-20 looked slight confused as to the cause but then shook her head and nodded. "yep, we'll beat them up good!" she said with a nod. She then waved by to the kitty cat and turned to Itchira and whispered as they walked off, "Um....what's a gutter fish?" She inquired. It wasn't all that surprising. At level two, she hadn't likely left the island, and even if she had, if she hadn't entered into the river, she wouldn't have encountered them. Further more, most people tended to try and avoid dealing with the marine creatures in this stage of the game (by such I mean those whom are in this region and lower level) unless they have quests, or are farming them for salvage due to the fact that fighting water creatures was somewhat different than fighting land ones.

Itchira smiled to S as she said they would get the fish good. As they started walking away she heard her whisper 'whats a gutterfish?' "Its a fish." Itchira answered with a laugh, "The old man needs us to kill some so he can fish. I mean would you want to fish somthing up thats called a gutterfish?"

She had no clue if clearing out some gutterfish would be easy or not but they were fish. The only problem she could see is that she had never fought anything, not on land. In fact the more she thought about it the more she wondered how they would go about doing this.

S smiled when she began to recognize the situation. "Ok, we can go fight the fish. I worked up my athletics are high so I should be good at swimming." She said with a nod and tilted her head in thought as they walked. "No, they don't sound tasty." She commented. They passed by a collection of bushes and ferns. The world of LZ had many different plants, each kind with it's own code and almost all with the ability to gather different kids of ingredients form it. Leafs, roots, stalks, sap, the designers of the game had looked into a great versatility, and were still even as the players walked, working on perfecting them concepts and programs that ran the world, as well as the data that ran it.

"Ohhh, I know where we might be able to find them." S said with a grin. "I was running away from some wild dogs and I ended up running up to a end of the island that did have a cliff and emptied right into the water. I think we might be able to go there to take care of the fish" said with a nod, proud that she could be of help. There was only two places that the island emptied out into the river rather than the cliff. other than those two spots they would have had to cross the bridges to approach the river from the other side, and risk being targeted by more powerful creatures.

Miz nodded, she had heard something about that, a group of small islands. They were still much to high for her, but she could probably get a hit or two in. However chances are the higher level enemy will easily dodge, or even shrug off her strikes.
She was taken by surprise when a small box appeared in her view. Slowly she moved the box more to where she could see it before accepting the group invite.

Go into the higher level area, and level up some. She may not hit a very high level tonight, but with any luck she would level up quite a bit, possibly enough to take on some of these creatures by herself. Granted that may take a while.
