Uncas, for once, decided to break this silence of the grave. His ancient black eyes looked over at the man simply known as 'A' and said in his accented voice, "Who are you, what information do you have on this 'League'?" One would find it somewhat difficult to resist Uncas' voice, he had long since learned the correct tone all humans seemed to respond to, and the fact he had enough knowledge of the human body to make even The Angel of Death shiver in disgust tended to make him get information. Uncas was not above torture, but was of rape. He had seen too much of that during the french and indian war so many centuries ago.

He got up and noiselessly approached 'A', the air around Uncas would seem quite calm, but there was no mistaking the power, like the calm before the storm. "I also wish to know how my ancestral forest is being defended. I do not want to go back to find it cut down by those things out there." He waved vaugly in the direction of the outside world, he did not know the name of the vehicles he just knew where to hit them in order to make the largest explosion. He used the metal from the wreckages to make his bullets, and he had found a way to make the bullets so they could go through ten men with a single bullet, but it was a painstakingly long process.

His eyes went back to the other man and said, "I'm sure you have questions aswell?" This man seemed old, but not as old as Uncas. Ever since The Doctor took him into his blue box Uncas seemed to be able to detect strange disturbances in what The Doctor called "The Space Time Continum", Uncas had heard a man with crazy white hair had thought of it.

He never raised his voice. That was the worst thing - the fury of a Time Lord - and then we discovered why. Why this Doctor, who had fought with gods and demons, why he had run away from us and hidden. He was being kind.

Somewhere in Oz...

"What's that?"
Dorothy quickly looked up from her foraging at the sound of the voice. Not seeing anyone at first glance, she looked again, finally noticing a large gray cat sitting on a rock near her. Watching her with intelligent green eyes, it asked again.
"What's that you're picking?"
"Just some herbs for the palace kitchens," Dorothy replied, looking for Eureka. The somewhat smaller but still respectably sized purple, pink and white cat looked out from behind her booted legs, hissing at the stranger. "That's strange," Dorothy muttered. "Usually she likes new acquaintances, unless..." She turned to the cat again, and asked suspiciously, "Just who are you?"

The gray cat chuckled appreciatively. "You are indeed Dr. Gale, and worthy of such a title. Hopefully you will get on with the Doctor you will encounter. " He paused, then added, as if musing a sad thought, "Would be a poor thing indeed if you did not." Looking straight at her, the cat declared, "You are needed on Earth to help the League."
"You're crazy." Dorothy stated this flatly, without thought. While talking cats were common in Oz, so was the knowledge of Earth. "If I ever return I shall die, and not a very pleasant death I might add." Picking up the still hissing Eureka, Dorothy ordered the cat, "Now go away. You aren't the type of crazy wished for here."

Turning away, she barely heard the disgusted mutter of "Children," before a sudden tornado, emanating from beneath her feet. Clutching tight to Eureka, she held her breath, knowing what was to come. Why did it have to be a tornado?

July 21, 1955 Washington DC

Dorothy sat up stiffly, moaning at her new bruises. The cat's voice wandered over to her, sounding miffed. "If you had been a bit more pleasant, I wouldn't have used the tornado," it said. Dorothy only grunted in response.

Looking down at herself, she noticed her usual blue and white checkered jumper and leather boots had been replaced by new clothes. Something that was needed, it seemed, as she had aged to some twenty years of age in the blink of an eye. "Crap," she said. "It started already."

"That's not good," the cat added pleasantly.

"That's why I told you that this is a stupid ide-"

"I'll just have to put the aging on pause for this venture. It would be bad if you aged unto death early. So, someone should meet you soon. Just be nice dear," the cat added flippantly as it's presence disappeared.

"Great," Dorothy muttered, looking at Eureka. "Shall we see where we are then?" Standing up slowly, getting to her now ten years older body, so saw that the cat had dropped her in a hotel bathroom. A very expensive hotel, at least by her standards. Granted, they were from forty years ago, but still....

Catching sight of herself in the mirror, she grinned. She was dressed in a pristine white lab coat over a simple flattering dress of dark blue. The dress stopped a bit past her knees, allowing for the same freedom of movement her younger self had, and underneath were black leather combat boots over stockings.

The sight gave her courage. Gathering Eureka into her new satchel, which had been left on the counter, filled with some of her scientific tools, she went to open the door to the main area.

"What new chaos did you get us into now, Dorth?" asked Eureka as she stepped into the open.
It's kind of fun to do the impossible.

The Doctor looked a bit crestfallen that Erik wasn't exactly forthcoming with the details of his life. He lived the life of a tortured artist, so like Vangogh in a way. But where Vincent had seen things in glorious color, Erik must have heard the inner music in everything. The Doctor was thrilled when Erik asked him if he would like to accompany him in the boat.

Hmmm… Yes that sounds excellent. If you need my help packing, I would be glad to lend a hand. I’m most curious to see your dwelling if you’d permit me. Shall we be off?

The Doctor gestured to the boat illuminated by the gloomy lantern light.

"Yes, but not in the boat," Erik stated, knowing that was likely to confuse the man. There didn't seem to be anything around them in this darkness other than the lake and the boat. But the reason why Erik had initially been so confused over this man's presence was because the alarm on the other side of the lake hadn't triggered before this one. They were on the same side of the lake as Erik's home, at present. No need to take the boat.

He gestured for the Doctor to follow him, and he led the way to what looked to be a plain wall. For the purpose of secrecy, Erik covered the light as he worked the mechanism that opened the front door, so that the Doctor would not see.

The wall slid aside to allow them entrance into Erik's home, and he stepped inside, leaving his cloak on for the time being. He wasn't going to be staying here long enough to warrant taking the cloak off, anyway.

Leaving the Doctor on his own to explore the subterranean house as he wished, Erik went around to collect up the things he would need for this adventure. One of those things was, of course, his supply of morphine. He wasn't about to leave that behind. He also brought some little trinkets and such which were useful for minor magic tricks like shooting sparks from one's fingers. Anything that could be used to gain a few moments of time in a sticky situation.

Once he had collected what he needed, he went to make sure his Siamese cat, Ayesha, had enough food and water to last until he returned. Which he certainly hoped wouldn't be more than a few minutes, in this time. His experienced time was going to be far longer, he knew.

The Doctor would probably have no shortage of things to look at while in Erik's home. There were normal things there, yes, like a sitting room and bedrooms and the like. But the Doctor would likely take particular interest in two specific rooms: one of them was akin to a laboratory. The walls were lined with shelves laden with all kinds of metal and glass contraptions. These were all working models of various natures, and they hinted so well at the unique genius of their creator.

The other room of interest was visible only through the wall of a viewing area, though there was a door that led into it. That door was closed and locked at the moment, and the room on the other side was dark. But even in the darkness, the haunting silhouette of a metal tree could be seen, along with a thin rope that hung from one of the branches. The infamous torture chamber, a mirrored room which existed as a death trap for those unfortunate enough to be caught within it. Upon being ensnared by the room, the mirrored chamber would heat up to a temperature which caused terrifying hallucinations and usually compelled the victim to commit suicide within minutes. That's what the noose hanging from the tree was for...

The Doctor was truly impressed with Erik's little machinations. The Doctor followed close behind him as they entered Erik's dwelling. It really was an interesting place, he wandered the room his agile mind working to put together a clearer picture of the real Phantom of the Opera. The Doctor was also looking at the things that Erik decided to take out of the corner of his eyes. There were plenty of interesting shelves lined with interesting thimgamabobs in one room. That was truly fascinating as it seemed to be a laboratory of sorts. In an instant the doctor had his screwdriver out and was waving it over things. He looked at the screwdriver, very interestin thingamabobs but they seemed only to be models or something of that nature. The Doctor wandered a bit more until he came to a viewing wall. He looked inside and, after peering into the gloom for a few moments he could make out a mirror room in the center of which stood an odd tree. It disturbed the doctor to look at, this was a place of suffering, then again Erik wasn't always the nicest person from what the doctor had gathered. A mistrustful man certainly, but such an elaborate way to torture? Still he was an ends to a mean, the doctor wanted his friends back.

Okay, are we almost done here, need any assistance and all such pleasantries? By the way nice, er...Torture chamber thinger... Yes very... unique. The doctor said the last part with obvious distaste. He looked through the wall again and saw a flicker of movement in the mirror. He would have to remember to visit her soon... It was about that time...

Erik didn't feel the need to justify that with a comment. He could hear the distaste in the Doctor's voice--it was quite obvious--but the Doctor didn't know Erik's past. At least, not that Erik knew. He had no real idea of how much this time-traveler did know, but he had to have at least heard of this torture chamber to recognize it for what it was. Otherwise, it just looked like an odd mirrored room with a tree and a noose. Strange decor, but that didn't exactly scream torture chamber.

He finished collecting what he needed before stated, "I am ready." The pretty Siamese cat which had been taking a nap on the sofa blinked at him in confusion, then looked over at the Doctor with a look of dislike. Erik was quick to mollify the diamond-collared creature with a gentle caress, but she still looked mildly annoyed that Erik's attention was being drawn to someone other than her.

"I will be back soon, my darling," he whispered to her, his melodic voice so very tender and loving. "I have left you plenty of food and water. Keep out of trouble." He gave her another quick caress which had her arching her back in pleasure, then strode nearly soundlessly over to the waiting Doctor.
