Tyrin was lifted off of the ground by four of the ancients. He had passed out after they had gotten there and now they were taking him back to Kolips abode. While they were doing that Kolip walked up to the young boy. I am sorry but you can not come with us. Your companion is not far off. Now we must take our leave. With that Kolip dissapeared into the woods dragging Kuyler behind him.

(sorry for it being so short, just really unable to think right now)

Thomas groaned as he trudged along to the location where he thought Twilight may have gone.

This was what he deserved for wanting to escape the tedium of his old, sheltered life...

He should have been more appriciative of it.

Now, here he was: walking in the middle of nowhere, his soft, "prince-ly" skin completely exposed to the offending elements of his adoptive mother: nature, toward the place he guessed his strange new companion, the green-haired royalty named "Twilight" was, as per the directions of the mysterious, elderly gentleman who belonged to the group of people who had just dragged his other companion, the vampire-demon King of the infamous Night Kingdom, into the ominously dark forest where he had just spent the night.

Thomas stoped walking, and sighed exasperatedly.

What had he been thinking?? This had been the worst idea ever!

And now it was totally too late to go back!

He continued walking and a doom-cloud of past regrets and self-pity began to form over his dirty, disheveled head.

Some of his thoughts even brought him back to his early childhood, because, of course, all emotional and mental sufferings could be traced back, inevitably, to the rearing. Or, at least, that's what a book that Thomas had once read in the Royal Library had said. He wasn't usually one to be interested in those kinds of things but, for some reason, that script had been particularly curious and, afterward, it had changed how he perceived the things that people did and shaped his current analytical mind.

(This may have started his obscene fascination with people.)

Thomas looked up from his broodings (physically and metaphorically) when he heard a faint and miserable sound being emitted from the distance.

It took him a while to figure out that the sound he had heard was, in fact, sobbing (for he had never heard such a pathetic expression of emotion, except for in his own mind,) and as he progressed he recognized the voice and found the source.

"...." Thomas stood awkwardly behind Twilight as he watched his chest move painfully with each, rough sob. He felt at a loss of what to do, or say. He had always, in the short time that he had known him, looked up to Twilight for answers, and now that his adoptive "guardian" was in need of him, Thomas could do nothing else but stand uselessly and watch.

He kneeled down next to him, and carefully reached out his cold, pale hand to comfort him.

((Wow. This is some of the worst writing I have ever done. My extreme apologies.))

(( In your defense, I loved it. ))

I may have, stayed there forever. Pushing my face into my Night's coat and crying but not actually, no tears spilling out but just the recognizable moans that anyone would recognize. My chest pushed and contrasted at each moan that exited my mouth, I just couldn't go on anymore. I didn't really want to, but at times I felt as if I needed to. Maybe revenge? I really had no purpose in living, except that I was in fact, the last unicorn living. But why was I the only one? I had killed almost all the dwindling numbers of them, it was all my fault, and my best friend had died at the hands of a vampire. I punched my fist upon Night and he snorted in protest.

" Shut up..." I whispered weakly as Night looked at me, utterly hopeless. Why had I started crying anyway?

Than the quiet footsteps that I knew were his, the boy that i had swore to protect since the first second I saw him lying atop the floor outside the Inn I was working at. I tried to finish my dry tears, but they didn't seem to succumb to me, and i cried in front of the person who was the weakest, that needed to protecting. But I just ended up scrunching up into a little ball and rocking back on my heels, not able to make the horrible feeling disappear from my mind.

The surprise that filled my nerves when his hand grasped my shoulder. I looked to him, eyes that were surprised and now melted ice, glittering like an ocean, far and beautiful. I jumped up and instinctevly hugged him, grasped him tightly, trying not to hurt him, as actual tears fell on top of his shoulders, and I cried for the first time in my life. On the little Prince's shoulder, I cried for the first time in my life. Pain seeped out of my mouth, the thing I had been holding in my heart for so long leaving me as I stood in a point of weakness in front of my now best friend, or even better, for all i cared. I finally stopped crying and stood back, giggling softly looking at his now wet shoulder.

"Little Prince..... I.... " My voice broke, and a small smile appeared on my usual vacant lips, a feeling like happiness filling me throughout my limbs.

" Thank you. "

My body drew close to his, my minty breath going against his face, my scent of forest and wild flowers probably overwhelming him. I looked into his eyes, trusting and kind, the smile still plastered on my face. What surprised me even more, was like a magnet I went to his face and kissed him. It was nothing like I imagined, kissing a boy that seemed human. But it was inhumanly good feeling, my heart was blossoming beautifully to the touch. His lips were kind and cold, but tender. I grabbed his shoulders, broke away and rested my head on his shoulders.

" I... didn't tell you something else... " I started, feeling my eyes drift down. " I'm a .... girl. "

Blackness...I had fallen asleep.

Thomas watched in horror as his companion fell limply onto his chest.

He grabbed Twilights shoulders.

"H...hey!" His voice's usually dull and apathetic tone had risen a few octives (whether from the cold or the emotionally...confusing events that had just taken place, he did not know).

Once calmed down, Thomas mentally refered to medical tests that healers would use to conclude the state of a comatose person (not that he, an adolesent prince, knew what they were, per say; when you're as sickly as he is, though, you tend to pick up a few things).

With an (adorably) serious expression on his face, Thomas leaned in closer to the now-laying Twilight, and gently pressed his ear against his chest- listening adamantly for the faintest sound of a heart beat (which he knew to be a sure sign that someone was alive).

For what seemed like a while, Thomas could not hear Twilight's pulse and was dreadfully afraid that he really was dead (and he had somehow killed him!) Eventually, however, after pressing deeply enough, he could finnaly release his held breath, for inside of Twilights chest there was the mildest sound of a resting blood-organ.

Thomas lifted himself from his uncomfortable position and sighed: relieved that his friend was not really dead, but only sleeping.

Emotionally exausted, he let himself fall backwards onto the grass: pink face expossed to the darkening sky.

It is almost nightfall, and he should do good to follow in it's schedual. Ironically, drained as he is, Thomas cannot help but think about the person who's name is synonymous with that of the occuring time of day and the words and events that had taken place between them- inhibiting his much needed rest.

Question upon question tourtured his mind until finally: he came to a realization.

Of course! Something must have happened between his friend and the demon-king (he also had a suspision that those strange elders had something to do with it, but he pushed those accusations aside for now). That was why his friend had been so unstable. In his state of extreme emotional anguish and delirium, he had said non-sensical things and, inadvertantly, caused strange feelings to arise in him.

But...what had happened to make his friend so sad? Did it have something to do with his secretive past in Royalty? (Which is where, he assumed, that his friend had adopted the manner of greeting that had been given: the touching of lips. Although he can only remember having recieved it during his childhood, before he became frequently ill, Thomas felt as though his friend's kiss had been a little different than that of his own culture. He was from a more faraway land, perhaps?)

With his thoughts disoccupied and his friend dragged safely under the shelter of a tree, Thomas felt secure enough to close his eyes...and rest his sight a bit...

I had work up, with someone's breathing close next to me. My eyes slightly opened, my earrings were cold as they dangled from my ears. My half open eyes caught my surroundings, and I finally knew what happened. Shocked and in disbelief, I fighted off my sleep and took a good look at Tommy. He seemed fine. I sighed in relief, and guessed he probably had some strange reason for everything to happen. Putting my hand on his shoulder, I watched him sleep for minutes. It dragged on, but I was not bored one second.

Feeling the wave of sleep myself I put my head in his lap, surrendibg myself to hin, being innocent for the first time in my life. I felt safe with Tommy, I thought as my hair surrounded me. I trust him

The sun had just risen from it's hidding place on the other side of the mountains in the far-away background and was rising into it's regular early-morning position. Dewy, uncontaminated air fills the atmosphere of this high-altitude plain and it rained regularly: allowing for lush ammounts of flora to inhabit this region, despite it's sligtly colder temperature. It was a small oasis for the human travelers and a stark contrast to the dark, almost malicious, forest surrounding it.

If one was brave enough to travel this deep into the forest, however, it may have even a sort of...romantic spot for lovers to spend their time (huddling together for warmth when it got later, unfortunately....)

On a small hill in the center of this scenery, there stood a lone tree with a thick trunk and many branches and dark green leaves. It bore no fruit, but had a beautiful show of flowers one day every year.

The flower's buds were a slightly lighter green than that of it's surrounding leaves, so it was sometimes difficult to see them in the dark, but in the morning (when they bloomed) it opened to reveal large, blush-colored clusters with dozens of small, silken petals that would then be carried off by a breeze and fall in a breath-taking shower.

As it just so happened, the season in which the flower bloomed had been the present season, and the time of day that they bloomed had been the present time.

(Or, perhaps it had been fate?)

And so, as the sun rose slowly into the morning sky, one small bud began to open and, progressively, bloomed into a spectacular clustered flower. As if on cue, other flowers began to bloom as well and continued to until the entire tree was completely filled with them.

Time passed, and a small breeze finally rolled by causing a small petal to fall and gently dance through the air before it landed squarely on the sleeping prince's nose.

Thomas twitched a little in his sleep and scrunched his nose. Slowly, he opened his eyes to stare at the offending petal. He sat up a little straigher and removed the petal with his fingers: staring at it curiously.

"....?"

Just then, Thomas sighted another petal falling next to him with his peripheral vision, and turned to watch it land beside him.

"....?"

Suddenly, there were two more petals invading the air...

three more...

ten more...

Then, a sligtly stronger breeze shook the tree's branches: forcing all of the flowers to release their petals, that then fell slowly to the ground in a massive rain-dance of epic porportions. As the petals fell, they wavered in the wind before falling to the grass below in an awe-inspiring (almost metaphoric) display of true beauty in nature.

The young prince stared up at this romantic phenomena with wide, golden eyes.

The wind whistled in her ears, she did not feel as if she was sleeping. She has never in her life actually 'slept'. But at the same time, there was something different. Last night, she had no dreams of blood and fire. Only his sweet face and lips filled her thoughts, the way he looked at her in concern. He was worried for her, actually noticed someone that had no existance. No importance in life. He was, maybe, the one. Would he ever love her back? There was really no time. Soon, she wouldn't be able to return to a unicorn. She had been an 'elf' too long.

Her love stirred, and her earrings clinked as he moved a bit. He seemed to be awake, but why? A surprised vibe came from him, he was in awe of something. So in awe, that he hadent seemed to notice that her head was in his lap, 'sleeping' peacefully. The guy was so oblivious to feelings. Would she ever get through to him? He seemed the same as always, undisturbee by the events that occured. But what would happen next? She had to go to human territory, but she was waiting for that vampire king. Should she trust him? Trust that he would find them?

Twilight opened her eyes, looking up at the face that was so innocent, but yet so attractive. Yawning quietly, and looking into his golden eyes she suddenly wondered what he was looking at. Looking away from his face and before her, she saw a tree that pulled at her locked up memories. A tree that she was in complete balance with, a tree that only boomed one day of the year, the flowers promising enternal love and hapiness to it's viewers. Twilight grasped a petal weakly and felt it's cool and soft texture between her fingers. It was, so mind whirling to see it again. Twilight sat up, her green hair resting in her face, her ppointed ears atune to everything around her.

" You've never seen a Dawn tree have you?" She began in her voice that sounded like birds chirping, a sound that lured you in with it's sweetness. " It only blooms once a year. It promises it's viewers eternal love and hapiness. " A strange warm hot feeling filled up her cheeks, but she washed it away without letting it stay for it felt to abnormal. She than started laughing, trying to laugh off the awkward situation they were now in. " As if that would ever happen right? " Twilight softly punched his shoulder in a friendly gesture, before becoming serious and standing up.

She walked closer to the tree, before she hugged it's familiar bark and caught the sounds of falling petals from her ears. " Tommy, if I were to tell you I loved you, what would you say?"

Twilights eyes watched him intently, knowing that the answer might not be what her heart was yearning to hear. But that was ok. If he would refuse she would move on. Heart-broken yea, but taught a lesson. A unicorn must never love she supposed.

Tyrin awoke to the rustling of leaves a sound both foriegn and fimiliar at the same time. The sounds had unlocked a memory of a time long forgotten. A time before the wars had ravenged the lands, a time of peace. Tyrin was a young boy maybe eight at the time his mother and father had promised to show him something that few people ever saw. It was before the sun had risen and all Tyrin could think about was how tired he was. His mother was lightly stroking his hair as she looked up toward his fire with a burning desire in her eyes. Tyrin could feel that something bad was going to happen on this day but his parents told him they would always protect him. Trusting their judgement he sat up and begin to hum a quite tune. One that had been past down through the royal family for millenia. The song was title requiem of a dream. It was known to have a magical quantity to it. The song could end wars as he had been told. He knew not how this was possible but it always seemed to bring him peace when he hummed it. As the song came to an end ten warriors from the Winged Kingdom stepped into the clearing with swords drawn. His father quickly drew his sword and slowly walked in front of Tyrin and his mother. As the men charged his mother quickly pushed him behind a large tree and drew a small dirk. His father and mother were able to kill the warriors but an arrow from an eleventh found its way to his mothers heart. The lome warrior fled as the sun finally rose. With the sun pink flowers began to bloom on the tree he was hiding behind. A gentle breeze caused the petals to fall from the tree and they began to dance on the wind. Tyrin not knowing of his mothers demise stared in awe at the beauty of the tree. He quickly rushed out eager to share the time with his mother. That was when he saw her lying on the ground an arrow through her chest gasping for air. He quickly rushed to her side and held fast to her hand as she faded. Tears began to stream down his face as she took her last breath. As the petals began to land on her so did his tears. He looked up towards his father with a questioning look on his face, but his father said nothing. He only began to cry as he collapsed to the ground. That was the last time Tyrin had seen his father show any emotion.

As Tyrin came out of the flashback he felta wetness of his cheeks. He quickly brushed away his tears as the voice of Kolip came from behind. "We have much work ahead of us if you intend to bring her back from the dead. Come we must get started." With that Kolip walked off and Tyrin followed locking the memory deep down and prayed that it never resurfaced.

Thomas stared at him with lidded eyes as he bore through him with his own mysterious ones. Twilight hadn’t left his sight since he woke up; his head would subconsciously synch to his movements. Now, the other “boy” was returning his gaze, and although, under normal circumstances, this mild-mannered Thomas would have looked away awkwardly, he was strangely comfortable in his presence, and captivated by his stare.

A subtle breeze rolled by causing one final flower to disband and fall, leaving the once glorious tree naked, and pitifully alone, with only it’s dry, dead bark as company.

Thomas’ skin tightens to adjust at the drop in temperature, and he shifts his head down to contemplate his friend’s question.

'If I were to tell you I loved you, what would you say?’

‘What would I say…?’

It really wasn’t that difficult of a question, nor was it awkward for him. Really, it was just surprising, and Thomas had to take time to think about it.

Of the times that Thomas has been told he was loved, only one, vague memory stands out in his mind…

‘Thomas….what would you say…
If I told you that I love you?’

Although there was no image to accompany this memory, Thomas knew that the person speaking was a young girl, early in her first decade, with long, brown-haired braids going the side of her head. Even though he doesn’t remember experiencing this memory, he has a strange, nostalgic feeling coming from it. He knows it was during spring, because he could smell the sweet Zauan trees blooming and the indistinct sent of sanitized floors….

“…..I guess,” Thomas started, not shifting his deep gaze off of the petal covered grass beneath his knees,

“I would have to say....

‘I love you, too’.”

As soon as the words had left his mouth, the comforting, warm silence surrounding Thomas turned into awkward, embarrassing one.

"........"

“Aw! We missed it!”

Thomas’ heart skipped a pace at the sound of a strange, new voice. He turned to look almost directly into the face of a young woman, standing at the base of the small hill, with a young man tailing close behind her.

“I told you we should have left earlier,” said the young, black-haired gentleman in an uncaring tone.

The young woman turned back to glare at him.

He simply rolled his eyes.

The blond haired maiden turned to face the bare tree again and whined eccentrically.

“But I really wanted to see itttttt…..” She pouted.

Suddenly, her expression changed as she rested her sight on the small patch of land next to the tree.

Her wide, blue eyed latched on to Thomas’ own, forcing a nervous eyebrow twitch from the prince.

The girl’s companion (surprised by his friend’s uncharacteristic silence) quickly caught on, and followed her gaze to Thomas and Twilight’s hiding space.

His green eyes narrowed cautiously.

“Oooh~,” the girl finally said, climbing up the hill carelessly, much to the dismay of her companion (who sputtered at her lack of caution in the face of strangers).

“Who do we have here?” She finally said, as she approached Thomas and closed her face in on his.

She smiled warmly at him.

After a few moments, she glanced over in the direction of Twilight (smile never ceasing).

As her partner approached, she finally leaned up and moved her pale hand over her mouth to suppress a giggle.

“What’s so funny?” The boy asked, annoyed.

“I think we interrupted a romantic moment….” She giggled again. The boy looked down at Thomas and smirked, raising one eyebrow cockily.

“Oh, yeah?” He said, teasingly.

Thomas’ eyebrow twitched nervously again.

He really didn’t like to be the center of attention like this.

Suddenly, the young woman gasped in realization.

“Oh, baby!” She kneeled next too Thomas again (much too close for his comfort), and placed a hand on his forehead.

“Ain’t you cold? It’s the middle of the spring mornin’, and you ain’t wearin’ a shirt!”

Without taking her eyes off Thomas, she leaned her arm back to her friend and said, in a very commanding way, “Tohan, give baby your shirt.”

“No effin’ way.”

The smile on the woman’s face was replaced by a look of irritation.

The boy crossed his arms in front of himself rebelliously.

Thomas tried to scoot away.

The girl turned to her incompliant boy-friend.

“I am telling you: give this baby your tunic.”

He turned his head defiantly.

“Make. ME.”

Suddenly, the boy groaned and doubled over - holding his crotch with his hands.

She held out her hand, and the boy complied with her request.

“Here you go, baby~” she handed him the bluish-gray tunic. As the other boy recovered, Thomas slipped on the scratchy shirt (that was, admittedly, a pretty good fit).

The other boy finally stood up, trying to salvage what was left of his dignity.

“Y’all ain’t from around here,” the girl looked over at Twilight expectantly. “Are you traveling?”

The tree had bled it's last flower. Twilight looked down to the bountiful pink blossoms that covered the ground beneath her, that seemed to remember her from the last time she had been here, from the only time she ever wanted to be here. Why had she turned up in a place she had sworn to never go back to? Twilight only grumbled to herself and shook her head. The beauty was lost on her. She was called beautiful herself, so the word had no meaning in her eyes or even her mind.

When the words of her friend, or in her mind her love spoke in her ears, her sharp eyes penetrated his own, looked at him with a softness they had never excuted before. She waited patiently for his answer, but at the same time she didn't want to know it. What if he technically rejected her? No she couldn't be selfish, everyone had a right to their feelings. You could never order someone to change their heart or mind, it's their choice. Not torture, not pain. If they have it set in their minds, you can't ever change it. And if he didn't love her, if his heart loved someone else, than she would deal with it. She would take it as a message. ' You aren't allowed to love.

Twilight was prepared for the worst. When he uttered those first words, she thought it was over. She thought he was trying to soften the blow with uncertainty. But she was wrong.

I would have to say.... ‘I love you, too’.

Twilight almost cried, liquid gathered at her usual vacant eyes and she was about to reply when she was interrupted. Wiping off the water from her eyes and hiding anything that was ever there, she sat her back resting on the tree, pretending not to have a care in the world about anything. The words that this new person had interrupted the moment with, were annoying, and toyed with Twilight's patience. But she said nothing, as she crossed her arms and closed her eyes, listening to what lay ahead.

When the woman and her companion, most likely a strange new couple that the woman surely had control of, entered the clearing, contrasting personalities Twilight opened one of her eyes giving off a masculine and dangerous aura. Digging an eyepatch out of her pocket just for fun, she put it over her left eye and put her hands behind her head, where her green hair rustled in the wind. When she knew that the people had drawn too close to her treasured companion, Twilight exited from her relaxed position and opened both of her eyes, even if one was covered.

The woman turned to her, a smile that was surely going to end Twilight's fuse if it stayed plastered on that untouched face. Twilight could play the part of a boy, that was what this body was for, since she could practically make two human identity's of herself, and she didn't really ever use her feminine one. Getting irritated that they were caught by such mindless beings, and being very wary of being recognized, Twilight stood up, her one eye that showed glowing with anger. Her golden earring that hang from her elven ears started shaking as they warmed near her pale skin. Her face was dirty, a bit of blood was dried on it, and scarred.

" I believe you are mistaken, woman. Twilight hissed. " As you can see we are both men, and unless you are implying that we are both gay, there are no romantic feelings here. " Twilight continued, her voice deep with a sense of authority. She started walking with the grace of a tiger toward Thomas, always keeping an eye on this strange couple.

The woman had concern for Thomas, so Twilight let that go as she hurt her man for a shirt. It was pathetic really but Twilight wasn't aware of the ways of a lady, so did all of them act like this? Twilight could only wonder. When the question was aimed at her and no one else, Twilight kept a cool and non-chalant face, her voice came out disinterested. " Well yes, we travel from time to time. We aren't that far away from home actually, we just needed to run an errand for Pops. Isn;t that right Tommy? " Twilight looked to him with an imitating look in her eye, a warning. Go along with it.

Cinder giggled nervously in the presense of Twilight's malicious arura.

Tohan cocked his eyebrow.

"Giay?" he mispronounced inquisitively.

Cinder, looking over at the two, tried to supress a knowing giggle.

"Really?" She looked over at Thomas who didn't vouch for Twilight's claim, nor deny it with his awkward silence.

"Well," Cinder said looking up at the cloudy sky,"It's gonna be raining soon. It always rains after the blooms..." Although her smile never faded, Thomas couldn't help but notice Cinder's eyes sadden, as if she were remembering a bad thought. Behind her, Tohan's posture visibally softened.

"Yep," Cinder said, streaching, " That's one of the reasons that people don't come out here anymore. Well, that and the curse..."

"SO," the girl said, standing up once more, "How 'bout you guys come back to our village with us? It's just down in that forest over yonder." Thomas looked over in the direction that Cinder pointed.

"I would really hate for you guys to get caught up in the rain. It really poooouuurs out here."

Thomas sneezed.

"See! You're sick enough as it is! Come on!" Cinder pulled the young prince off the ground.

"Y'all can stay at my family's inn! My mamma makes a mean Cress soup! Guaranteed to slap the sick right out of ya."

The aura around Twilight was mysterious, it was becoming more snappy, like it was to bite the people in front of it like a vicious dog. But Twilights face didn't match her body language, it just stayed as unemotional as it pretty much always had, until she had met her two best friends. Now that Twilight thought about it, where was Tyrin? Shouldn't she wait for him? Twilight looked through the dark trees, but could not find the figure she wanted to see. Her inpassable face started to quirk down slightly, but it returned to nothing in a flash. He was a vampire after all, he would find them.

When the man mispronounces the word as if he didn't know it, Twilight instantly wondered if these people were educated at all. Did they live on farms in the country? Live normal lives away from all the pain amd suffering? Twilight only wished she couldve had a life like theirs, but she knew if she did she wouldn't be the person she was today, not felt and seen the things she knew, and would have never met Thomas or Tyrin. Maybe she was born like this for a reason. Twilight made a slight smile to Thomas before looking coldly again with one eye to the others.

When the woman looked up at the sky, Twilight couldn't help but look up to, her eye definitely noticing the dark clouds rolling in, and instantly grumbling to herself about her back luck and how her luck wasn't guiding her today. However, she did nod at the womans statement, just to let the woman know that she was listening. Very unlike Twilight, for she loved to observe others, payed no attention to the two humans for she was deep in thought about what Thomas meant by I love you too. And not just that, but that she said if, and since she said if, maybe he thought it was an imaginary question, just something she asked out of curiousity. That's what she made it sound like, but she wondered if what he really said was fake. Twilight picked up a flower and put it in her pocket, hoping to ask him about it later.

The mention of the curse though made Twilights head snap in her direction, and Twilight just shook her head. " Ive heard of of it. " Was all she said, the memory already coming back. They had made an excuse of what really happened, and Twilight was there when it did. " Any two lovers that are not sure of their love will be cursed, one surely to die anytime soon. But I do nor believe in that sort of thing. It's only what humans have created to explain unexplainable things. "

When the girl asked if they could come to the village with them, Twilight was surely going to say no, but when she talked about pouring rain and even to top it off Thomas sneezed, Twilight tensed up remembering the first time she had ever met the prince, his frail body soaked from the rain, unconcious in front of the Inn she used to look at. Sighing, Twilight pulled her fingers through her hair, before she finally decided what she must do. She wasn't alone anymore, she had to take care of Thomas.

Twilight actually smiled than, her once cold face warming and softening somewhat. " Thank you, you are very kind. My companion here gets very sick in cold temperatures. May i take my horse? "

Twilight whistled, and Thunder came to her, worry on his face as he nuzzled her cheek. Petting his face and holding it so delicately, for she loved him dearly. Twilight's whole body language changed, and she was suddenly the kind, warm person Thomas knew. " Hey boy. " She cooed, as he neighed in response, his beautiful black hair glistening. " Follow me. " She whispered in his ear. The supplies still sat on his back. Twilight was still wary of these strangers, so she kept a cold face again.

" May I know your names? I am ready. My name is Razul, and this is my little brother Thomas. " Knowing that Thomas probably couldn't go under another name, she let him keep it.

"Um, yeah," Cinder's eye seemed darkened again at the mention of the curse and, as dense as Thomas was in some matters, he felt as though there was something she wasn't telling them.

More ominous still, the smile stayed plastered on Cinder's face.

"Yeah. That's all bumpkin talk." Tohan finally said, "But, whatever. It means that there are less people coming here now." He shrugged.

Cinder giggled.

"Yup. And I ain't afraid to come here 'cuz I got Tohan with me!" She clasped his hand with her own, freckled ones.

Tohan couldn't help but smirk at the praise.

"Well," he said, nonchalantly wrapping his arm around Cinder's waist, "You know how it is...." Using his free arm, Tohan flexed jokingly causing Cinder to roll her eyes.

Cinder dislodged herself from Tohan's embrace and took a step toward them.

"....You guys are...brothers?" Cinder examined their distinct features disbelievingly, but if she thought that what Twilight had said was a lie, she didn't verbalize it.

"Oh!" Cinder placed both hands on her rosy cheeks (gushing at Twilight's politeness), "How ruuuude of us!"

She smiled, "My name is Cinder~...," she gestured at her companion, who was currently staring at the empty tree to his right,"And this is Tohan." He looked away from the tree at the mention of his name, and made a half-hearted gesture to mean "hello".

Just then, a heavy thunder growled in the sky above them, causing Cinder to glance up.

"Oh. Looks like we better get a move on!"

**(There's not alot of Thomas in this post; in the next one, while they walk to the village, I'll add in his thoughts on the two, and a more detailed description of them.)**

At the question of brothers, Twilight instantly interjected saying," No we aren't. I sort of have the habit of saying that. He's actually the son of my Master. It's my job to protect him. " She announced gruffly, looking at the two people with a suspicious glance. She didn't trust these people, they were hiding something, which only made it worse for Twilight didn't trust easy anyway. Twilight protectively hovered around Thomas, as Night stayed close to her side, looking at the people with the same wary look.

Cinder and Tohan huh? Such strange names, but pretty much everyone had a strange name, so people rarely asked about them. Bored and trying to be a little more friendly, Twilight becomes Night before walking near Tohan. The man was taller than him, for Twilight was actually quite short for a boy but big for a woman. She was around 5'8" But this guy looked well into six feet. She felt small but she stood tall, since no one really phased her dangerous or not. Since the storm was closing in, she followed with much reluctance.

" So. " Twilight practically yelled over the howling wind. " What region are we in? Or Kingdom persay?"

"Hu-yu?" Cinder said, looking back at Twilight, "I thought you guys were from around here? Shouldn't you know?" She continued walking and took up a space next to Thomas, and began to converse with him.

"We're not in any region." Tohan answered for Cinder, "This is neutral territory that is free from reign of both Shiria, a small region of the Winged Kingdom, and Garoza: an independent country just west of here."

"Say," Cinder said as she grasped Thomas' arm between her arms (and breasts), "You're pretty cute for such a little guy~ That gent' there said you were a master's son? Thomas is a really cooool name, too. It's so foreign.~ Where did you say you were from? Do you have a gal waiting for you back home? Sorry for laughing sweetie. You're blushin' is just all kinds of cute.~"

"Oh, Yari, Cinder; do ya have to flirt with every guy you meet?"

Cinder giggled and moved closer her face closer to Thomas', "Only the cute ones~"

Tohan rolled his eyes dismissively, but anyone could tell he was upset.

As they were walking, Thomas finaly took the time to notice how the strange pair looked.

Cinder was quite slim, but had clearly defined....erm...."curves" that Thomas couldn't help but notice. Her complexion was was quite freckled, which suggested that she had, at one point, spend alot of time in the sun. Other than that, her face was probably quite nice, but a large scar over her nose and cheek took away his attentions. Her long, dirty-blond hair was tied up in a braid behind her head, and she donned a modest, tan peasent dress that went down just above her ankles. She was about his height standing up.

Tohan, on the other hand was very tall, and towered over them. He was no longer wearing his tunic, but his body was still covered with a long-sleeved, cotton under-shirt. Through it's thin layer, Thomas could make out the definite shapes of lean muscle that framed his slender body. Peaking out of the back of his shirt, was the end of a scar that seemed to go on down across his back. The most notable thing about him were his bright-green eyes that were brought out even more by his long black hair. Even by Winged standards, Thomas couldn't help but notice how hansome Tohan's face was. For a human, he was probably a pretty good catch.

Tohan scowled at him, and Thomas noticed he had been staring.

"Whatchu lookin' at?"

Thomas looked away.

The training had been arduous and long but in the end he got the ritual right. Kolip had been surprised at his dedication and the speed with which he mastered it. The sun was just setting as Tyrin mounted Kyuler and started to guide him toward the scent of Twilight. It took him about an hour to finally sit at the crest of the hill that overlooked the small town. Warning bells were flashing in his head as the realization of what this town was came to him. He could faintly smell the smoke of a cooking fire and food being prepared. This town was the source of a highly potent sleeping drug and they would use it in the food perpared for nights such as these to make it easier for them to harvest their blood.
Nearby Tyrin heard the crack of a twig and the whistling of what was most likely a guard. Silently dismounting Kuyler he crept to the guard and pulling out a small knife thrust it through the mans neck. As he removed the knife he took off his breastplate and put bit on the man. His plan was to have Kuyler get to Twilight and surely she would notice his armour. Hefting the man onto Kuyler he sent him off galloping. He would be anle to find her and he would be smart enough to kick the door in when he got to her. Unsheathing his sword he quietly ran down to the town staying out of sight. As he neared he head voice and quickly dove behind a cart. The rain was coming down to hard for him to hear a word said and as a bolt of lightning flashed Tyrin could be seen directly behind two unsespexting guards two daggers in hand. Clearing his throat caused the two men to visibly jump and turn around. As they faced him both received a dagger to the eye and fell to the ground as they were removed. Picking up his sword from were he left it he heard the shatter of wood the thud of something hard and the yell of a woman. Making his way toward the center of town he neared a manor. This place had been a nuisance to the Night Kingdom for as long as the Kingdom had been around and now was the time to be rid of them.

Even if Cinder had caught him in a tight spot, Twilight showed no response to be used against him. When Tohan answered for him, Twilight looked to him respectfully, suddenly showing a glint of surprise that was quickly hidden as Twilight pondered over what he just heard. Nuetral? Twilight hadent heard of such a place, not be taken over by any region or kingdom and purely independent. Interesting, it surely was. The clouds only threatened rain more and more, making Twilights green hair rise.

When she saw Cinder get well..er.. ' friendly ' with Thomas, instantly her eyes darkened and she hissed," Id like you to get off him ma'a- I mean Cinder, he's a taken man. " We he wasn't, or at least she was pretty sure, and her jealousy got the best of her in the situation. It made her blind almost, but she was just being protective a man who saved her from something she could never forget. He was the first person to ever see her cry, and hopefully the last.

Twilight hated saying good bye to her favorite horse, but it wasn't as if he could come into the building with her. The town gave her a very strange and tense feeling, but Thomas didn't seem to notice, so she tried to relax but her body could not. The rain pelted the building from outside, and they offered her food but she politely refused. Thomas ate a lot however, and set them all in laughter when his stomach looked as if he was pregnant. Wondering what the whole fuss was about for the food, Twilight ate some of her food, and even though she was hardly picky she thought it tastes funny and refused to eat more. They than went to bed, but Twilight refused to leave Thomas' side so they slept in the same room.

Thomas had bonked out instantly, but Twilight found it strange she was drowsy. For she was never exactly tired, and not after she had slept so little time ago. Something was suspicious. Going into her half concious stupor, Twilight's body was readied for any funny buisness.

Boom.

The door creaked open...

"Well," Tohan said as he rose from the table, "I would love to stay and eat with y'all, but I have some buissness to attend to on the other side of town."

As this happened, Cinder's mother, a volumptous, older lady, had arrived at the table with a large serving pot of soup inside of it.

"Really?" Cinder said and worried her lip. "Shouldn't you have at least a little snack before you go....?" Her statement was interrupted by a light kiss on the lips by Tohan.

As he rose away from her, a light flush came to his cheeks, and he cleared his throat nervously.

"W...Well, I guess I better get going now," he said as he walked through the door. Just then, Cinder ran up to his side and said, "It's going to be pourin' until mornin', darling; you best be takin' the Dry Rout, and stayin' out of the rain."

Tohan smiled, and kissed his love once more on the cheek.

"I'll see you guys later." And he departed into the rain.

After a few moments of Cinder gazing out longingly from the door, she finally shut the rain out, and took her seat at the table to eat, hoping that he would get home alright.

"Now," Cinder's mother placed the large pot on the table, causing it to vibrate, "Who here wants some dinnah??"

And so everyone in the Inn at that time ate a very nice meal of Cress soup and meat, with the exeption of Twilight, who ate very little, and Tohan, who had gone out mysteriously into the rain.
