~ Paris ~ The studies have been conducted, the tiny hints all pointed to somewhere in the Himalayan mountains though it was purely speculation at this point where the Phoenix Heart had actually fallen they now needed to gather a team together that could survive the conditions out there, people who could pool their abilities together and find the Heart, or any clues to where it could be. The first target of "abduction" was a young man who could bend the wind to his will, Zephyr Killian. A tactical team stepped into the clearing, tranquilizer bolts loaded into their rifles. A man in a dark grey suit, neatly combed hair and eyes the color of faded money strode confidently, almost arrogantly, up to Zephyr. "Missuor Killian, I would like you to come with us. You've been elected as a part of a scientific excursion and I'm afraid that you've got no choice as to whether or not you go. You may come along willingly and quite comfortable or you can resist and be shot." The man's voice was cool and polite but left no room for any real negotiation. The man signaled and a car rolled up behind him. The negotiator smiled, though it never touched his eyes, the car door opened and he signaled towards it. ~ U.S ~ A car rolled up to the house belonging to one Hayley Rinslet, a known woman with very combustive abilities, a fire elemental with a tendency to blow things up would be good or bad depending. A couple men in silver suits and a voluptuous woman wearing a black blazer over a silvery white blouse, a matching business skirt revealed much of her smooth legs. Her dark hair bounced in ringlets as she walked, her hips swaying enough to be a distraction to most men. Her small hand knocked on the door and it opened to the girl this woman was after. "Miss Rinslet...I'm going to have to ask you to come with us. You've been selected for a scientific mission. In this, you've got two options: one; you may come with us quietly and no one will be hurt. Two; you may resist and you shall be...put down...We are well aware your...sensitivity to cold and I'm sure that you won't appreciate being stuffed in a trunk with much ice." She smiled, her blue eyes twinkling with honesty. The men in silver suits would have no trouble taking the young woman with liquid nitrogen guns that would spray her with a light mist of the chilling mixture. The door of the car behind the three opened and the woman stepped to the side, still smiling and held out a hand to the car letting Heyley know that it was her move now. |

The wind calmed around him, the rustling leaves slowly coming to a stop and the grass stilling itself. The little sounds surrounding him, normally present in this part of the forest, seemed to slowly fade out as the air pressure dropped. It was obvious to the animals that something wasn't usual here, and they quieted along with the wind. The stage was set. Zephyr raised a single hand slowly, deliberately pulling it upward. The air slowly pushed up, the trees surrounding him in the small clearing shaking just a little bit. He pulled a second hand towards himself, wrapping himself in a pocket of calm air so that his next few moves wouldn't damage him; humans were extremely sensitive to air pressure. He had learned that well enough after making his nose and ears bleed during his first few more experimental excursions. The wind gathered in the air, forming an almost visible pocket about him and within the trees. That small area was in turmoil, the leaves flitting about as if they were in a hurricane. Zephyr closed his hand, bringing it to a violent stop, then slammed his hand downward. The sticks and leaves he had picked up slingshotted themselves to the ground, propelled by the violent and powerful winds. The sticks jabbed into the ground, some breaking on impact while some stuck like javelins, making a small twanging sound that was almost inaudible over the rustling of the trees overhead. He raised both hands this time, pulling quite a bit more energy than he normally did from behind. That was normally how he thought of it when he mustered up the force of the winds: "from behind". It was certainly what it felt like, and was an apt enough explanation for what he did. The wind certainly wasn't from him, and it always felt as though it was rushing in from behind him, but within his body. It was a rather difficult feeling to describe, almost impossible to put into words, and equally impossible to explain to anyone who hadn't felt it. Then again, who did he have to tell? Zephyr clenched his fists, making a conscious effort to keep the wind going. He imagined a massive hurricane, torrential winds, violent tornadoes within himself, and poured as much energy as he could into the air above the small forest. Suddenly, he heard the snapping of twigs and the movement of grass in the area around him. His hands instantly fell, still holding in the massive but silent energy above him. "Missuor Killian, I would like you to come with us. You've been elected as a part of a scientific excursion and I'm afraid that you've got no choice as to whether or not you go. You may come along willingly and quite comfortable or you can resist and be shot." said the man who had approached him. He was obviously of some importance, but held no insignia to indicate such. This man somehow seemed much more dangerous than the forces surrounding the clearing, which didn't exactly make sense considering the situation, but Zephyr felt it all the same. Being who he was, Zephyr didn't quite know what to say. The energy above him seemed to be flitting away, and this distraction was making him lose control of the winds. He would have to work quickly if he wanted any chance at escape. It would be a slim (nigh impossible) chance at that. He would have to choose his words carefully. "I like the comfortable option. But let me show you something first." He said, his voice slightly strained and obviously panicked. He fell to the ground, opening his palms and forcing them into the soft soil around him. The torrent fell upon the crowd, knocking everyone down to his level and throwing quite a few weapons out of their hands. The disorientation would only last a few minutes in the best case scenario, and he was a bit dizzy himself already. Zephyr stood up, stumbling at first, and ran blindly into the forest. He already knew that he probably wouldn't make it, and he normally would've given up at first, but he took what chance he could. Anything was better than total capture. |

~ Paris ~ The force of the air leveled the surprised men in the clearing, brining them down with the force of the air and knocking the breath from many of them. The man in the suit was slightly impressed even as he was knocked down, falling just right so that he could recover quickly while the other men were disorientated. He brought his left arm up and spoke into his sleeve. "Target has chosen option B, please put him down." He spoke in a clam tone as if he were lying on the beach on a warm day. From the car, which had been undistrubed by the violence of the air, stepped a man with a large rifle in hand and was already sighting in the scope. He aimed quickly and pulled the trigger once. The dart that shot out flew quickly and silently, led right into the path that Zephyr was running. Just enough pressure to push the dart into his skin and inject the tranquilizer, but not enough to hurt him badly. The fluffy end of the dart just seemed to blossom from the running man's neck and the serum would work nearly instantly. A grogginess and an urge to lie down would be overwhelming within a moment He could run, but running far wouldn't happen. The man in the suit stood up and brushed himself off calmly, making sure to straighten his suit as he walk after Zehpyr. To many, the man seemed to be strolling, nonchalant and bored. He reached where Zehpyr had fallen victim to the serum and shook his head slowly and made a tsk, tsk, tsk sound as if scolding an insolent child. "Missuor Killian, that was a very bad mistake." He didn't sound angry or upset in anyway. But as a disappointed parent in a child that had lied about being in the cookie jar when the crumbs were on their shirt. He signaled to the men who were now gaining their feet and orientation, they came and roughly picked up the quickly fading man and carried him to the car where he was placed in the trunk instead of the back seat. His hands and feet were bound with zip ties, not the weaker one, oh no, but the industrial heavy plastic ones that couldn't be broken even by an elephant pulling on it. The man in the suit looked at Zehpyr one last time and smiled, the action again never reaching the faded money colored eyes. "Good night, Missuor Killian." And the trunk was slammed shut. |

They came with special guns suited just for her. Hayley felt so special. The woman in the suit annoyed her. Hayley never liked anyone that acted powerful with armed men at their back. She almost considered blowing them up but obviously there were many of them and only one of her. Hayley also hadn't perfected her accuracy yet so it would be a stupid move. Hayley also wondered if the woman in the suit had special powers or not, but it seemed unlikely if she needed backup. Hayley looked at the woman and gave her a cold smile, one of the "you better watch your back as long as I am alive" kind of smiles and then walked past them towards the waiting car. |

Paris~ An Irish man was hiding a ways back in the trees watching the scene unfold. He knew as the man had unleased the pent up winds that he would not escape. As the winds rushed toward he quickly dissapated them. His powers had been honed. He had spent many a days training on the secluded shores of Ireland. As the man went down he began to feel the charge of electricity running through his body. When the truck was securely closed he began his assult. The first strike was a few feet from the car leaving a small charred mark in the grass. The second struck the man who had fired the bolt at the wind elemental. He began walking out of the tree line as the third bolt struck another man. Where do you think you are taking him? If he does not wish to go then you can not make him. His voice had venom in it. He hated these men for forcing that man to come with them. |

The woman smiled at the girl, pleased that it didn't have to come to blows. She signaled the men to their cars and got in beside the girl, shutting the door easily. "There's no need for hostility...he solders were for back up in case you got....rowdy. Good to know that isn't the case." The woman smiled at her again, eyes coldly twinkling with undetermined intention flickering back and fourth. "As I said, you've been selected out of a special few to search for an item of great importance for the human race....The Phoenix Heart...a relic that fell to earth not a few years back that gave some people extraordinary power and....evolved them...However, it has also altered the earth as well, it's as if the geological clock is running backwards for the earth and soon, all the fables and stories of "Pangaea" will actually be true." The woman looked out the window and watched the scenery pass by and said nothing more. Soon the car pulled into a driveway of a neat industrial looking building, no markers on the gates or sign to name the building were visible. The car pulled around to the front doors underneath a cement overhang and the woman stepped out holding the door for the fire elemental. "Your future awaits, Ms. Rinslet." ~ Paris ~ The man in the suit looked up as a bolt of lightning struck the man with the rifle and another man that was exiting the woods and spun to face a vehement person babbling some nonsense about taking him. The man adjusted his suit calmly and looked bored at him, leaning against the trunk of the car and still managing to look professional about it. Even as he folded his arms together, putting his hand on a hidden gun under his coat carefully. "I assure you, he already agreed to come with us after his little...demonstration...I do not know you nor do I care about your little..." He looked at the now dead two men and the furrow in the ground. "Light show...I'm behind schedule as is so you'll have to excuse my rudness. Though, I must say, if your name comes up we'll be sure to give you a call." He smiled at the man and fire the gun from under his jacket, leaving a decent sized hole in the expensive blazer as a dart launched out and struck the lightning man in the stomach. The man in the suit gave him no further notice as the tranquilized man dropped to his knees and started to lose consciousness. He got in the back of the car after kicking the dead guard out of the car, picking up the rifle as he sat down. He held up his wrist again and gave the order to move out. A minor caravan of cars drove out of the woods from strategic positions around the clearing and followed the black unmarked car to a private air port where the unconscious Zephyr was loaded into a plane and flown to a neat facility across the Atlantic and in the Eastern portion of the US. The man was cared for and placed in a decent sized room with five cots spread about and another occupant, a girl with a fiery temper. ~ Ray ~ The elementalist stood on a tree branch carefully, leaning out to gently part the foliage and watch as a car rolled through the driveway of the industrial building. All reports gathered said this was the base of operations for this unnamed team of supposed scientists. He watched as a woman in a suit stepped out of the car and was soon followed by a young looking girl. He had to get on the trail of what they were doing, the future of the world and the life of all the elementals depended upon it. He carefully put the foliage back and breathed in deep, pulling the air in around him and reached out ward with his senses, grasping the wind and turned into a living breeze that blew through the tree and due north towards rumors of serious down pours and storms ripping through where they weren't supposed to. He had a feeling that this was the work of a person, an elemental of storms and quite possibly an ally in this fight to save their kind. He settled his presence back on the ground and pulled inward reluctantly forming back into flesh. He was a few miles out of a decent sized town the sign nearby said "Rome" and he supposed that it was a decent place to start. |

Maeve looked around the dark streets of the small town she had just gotten to in her travels. It wasn't the smallest she had come across, but it was not the biggest either. It was a nice town as far as she could tell, with lots of older style shops, and a bunch of church buildings that had been made into town halls after the dooms day. She walked down a "main street" until she reached a sign that read "Forest Park" looking around, she saw that no one else was out in the pouring rain, and walked into the forest. It was road and pavement, but the trees, they were taller then she had seen in most areas around this state, and everything was so green, so lush. She smiled a rare smile, and sat in a pavilion, and just watched the rain drops hit the tree leaves. She felt relaxed, which was rare as of lately. Pulling her messenger bag from her hip, she opened it, and pulled out her sketch pad. Looking out into the dense forest, she took up her charcoal and started to draw. The drawings came to life, and the trees and leaves were beautiful on paper. Smiling a small smile, she hummed to her self. Totally un-aware of things around her. |

~ Ray ~ The elementalist looked around, walking along the sidewalks ignoring the stares and side ways glancing that people did. His appearance was strange yes, but it's how he wished to look and no one could say otherwise. He walked into a larger building, Wal Mart of all things and went to the "Entertainment" section. He scanned the various widescreen TV's they had on display, most of them warbled and shut off when he got near them, his energy messing with the high tech circuits and such. Before one of the screens turned off he caught sight of a Doppler screen showing a storm cell over an area that was close by. He grinned and dashed out of the store, his silver scarf trailing after him. He looked around the skys and tapped into the storms, feeling for where one could be. Even as he did, he spotted dark rain clouds over about fifteen miles away. He grinned and ran around to the back of the store, making sure that no one followed him before gripping the air and turning once more into a living breeze that shot away to the location of the storm. Now that he was one with the air he could feel the currents pulling him towards it, could feel the savage water that flowed down against him. He had little control over the rain, his "family" said it was because of his supposed affinity. Fire however, it dance with him as easily as he breathed. All the others seemed to sit somewhere in between. He touched across the soaking ground, fighting not to be drawn into the storm in his air form. He solidified and was instantly doused by the heavy drops, his hair flattening within seconds. The noise of the rain crashing down was bordering maddening. He had felt the air spiraling over a specific area, it was definitely an elemental of the storms. The man pushed forward through the curtain of rain, walking along a path, attuning to the storm but couldn't lessen it's power. He followed it to who it was being drawn to and paces away looking at the woman under the pavilion. "Elemental! Hold your storms so that we may speak!" His words lanced through the rain's din, making the woman jump in surprise. He may not have been able to lessen the storm himself but he would not be drown out by it. |

Jumping, and her hand jerking away from her drawing just in time, the storm became stronger and wilder for a moment. She took a deep breath, and calmed herself. The rain lessened, but the sky was even darker then before, lightening flashing more. Maeve looked at the man in front of her. "What do you need?" She asked. She wished to be left alone if possible, and she hated when people interrupted her drawings. She thought for a moment. Did he call me an elemental? How did he know it was me .. . . Slipping her things into her bag, she stood and faced him looking him in the eyes. If she was going to have to make a choice on fight or flight, she was going to need to figure where to run. She could always run to the stream and make a flood, floating away from this man, but that could possibly put people around this town in danger . . . She glanced to each of her sides. There wasn't much to run to, unless she got into the woods, and got high enough where she could get into the storm itself, but the last time she had tried that, she got suck in that form. She didn't wish to risk that, and she didn't know how long or far she could hold it to get away. With her luck she would turn back into human form, above concrete. Sighing she rolled her shoulders and looked back to him, staring and waiting for him to answer her. |

~ Ray ~ The elementalist had enough, his body temperature rose to blistering and the water around him, and all that was falling on him evaporated into steam as his hands balled up and flames danced around them. He closed his eyes and focused on the wind, creating a rain free area while the torrent continued around them. Ray brushed his hair up and out of his face, letting his fire ability go now that he was dry. He frowned and watched the girl shift, he knew that look, he'd been there himself. Fight or flight for his kind because of the mobs of the norms that hated what they were. He walked forward, keeping his position neutral. "Is that anyway to treat your own kind? Surely you didn't think you were the only elemental out there who had enough power to do something like that?" He put his elbows on the sill of the pavilion, looking at her as though he was mildly insulted in being treated with no hospitality. "Since you've not named yourself yet...let me be the adult...My name is Ray Irichi and I'm an elementalist." He adjusted his silver scarf, making sure to keep his hold on the air above to maintain the dry spot, should she give it enough effort the elementalist wouldn't be able to hold it off...but if she made an enemy of him he would just roast her and leave the pavilion to burn with her ashes. The man didn't want that outcome and genuinely hoped that she would rather talk than fight. |

"Maeve . . . Why not come sit in the pavilion at least? I'm not going to bite, promise." she said quietly, scooting more to the side to free up a dry spot on the bench. Names and words were carved all over the wooden table, and it was so strange, to think of all the different people that had ever been here to do that. She didn't feel safe around this man, but the best option was to make friends, then to make enemies. She knew that she didn't know how to defend herself, or even how to control the storms that came with her, but she did know that she would need help. If this man was actually an elemental like herself, then maybe, just maybe, he could help her learn how to deal with it all. Being hunted and avoided was half good, and half bad for her. Being a loner suited her, but being hated . . . it cut down to her inside, even if she liked being alone, she needed someone to depend on, someone to turn to when she needed help. Looking at the man from under her red hair, she waited. Would he make nice? Or would she have to make a run for it . . . |

~ New York ~ A car rolled down the doused streets, the din of the rain bouncing from the metal of the black car's roof was unbearable to the man within. A small caravan of military vehicles rolled along behind, the men inside trying to see through the drenched windows. The man's faded money colored eyes looked from window to window, more bored at the droll rain than anything else. "All units, search everywhere. There's an elemental behind this...one of this magnitude can greatly benefit the research...use lethal force only if needed." He spoke into the microphone hidden in the cuff of his sleeve, even as he finished the order the caravan broke off, going down different side roads, searching for anyone out in the rain. The black car pulled out of the way, down a road past a sign reading "Forest Park". The man in the back thought it interesting that the people of such a small town would actually try to make something like that work. The driver got out and popped open an umbrella, holding it up in defense of the droplets trying to beat him down and noticed a hole in the clouds through the rain. He opened the back passenger door and pointed to the hole. "Sir," The other man's faded green eyes looked up searchingly, following the driver's pointing arm. He smiled to the driver, the action not even close to reaching his eyes. "Looks like we've found our elemental....let's move it. ~ Ray ~ The elementalist nodded and walked smoothly around the pavilion and sat next to her, looking out at the rain and letting go of the dry spot now that it wasn't needed. He sighed and looked around wondering if she either didn't know how to control her powers or didn't care if the storm raged around her. He looked at her and thought of how she could be a useful ally, but first she needed to know how to actually use her powers. The sound of rolling tires caught his attention and two slams of car door made him feel uneasy. He looked around quickly and snarled looking at her. "It's them! They musn't find you...get down!" He pushed her urgently but gently below the window and put a finger to his lips standing up and turning his back away from the window and humming a gentle tune as if he were the one making the storm and enjoying it. "You must be fond of the rain, sir." A firm voice called from a few paces away from the pavilion and Ray turned to look at the man in the suit under the umbrella with the driver standing close at hand as well, holding a pistol directed right at the elementalist. Ray shrugged and looked at the gun. "So what if I am? You know...bullets don't shoot very straight under water...and even less in the rain when it comes down hard like this...you should be warned that if you fire...the rain will come down all the harder..." he made a small signal to Maeve and passed it off as brushing dirt off his pants. "Trouble it...i don't know you and I don't want to know you...so I suggest you go away..." Ray looked at the gun harder not knowing if it would go off. Granted he would easily be able to blow it up in the men's face but then he would blow Maeve's cover. He shifted nervously and stopped himself from looking down at the hidden girl, he'd really blow her cover then. The man just laughed at Ray, a mirthless sound. "Well...this one is certainly unfriendly...I suppose I'll give you the choice of options...Come with us quietly and in a nice comfortable car ride...or you can be shot...I'm not in the particular mood to play games at the moment. You see...i'm not fond of the rain and it's starting to ruin my suit...so if you'd just choose your option now..." Ray glanced around, and that was enough, the gun barked once and now the bullet was traveling straight for his shoulder... |

As the dart hit him he quickly pulled it out. He looked down at the dart. Too late he thought. He began to feel the effects of the dart as he started to walk through the trees. This was not good he could not pass out here he would be helpless to who ever may come along. It was just one dart so maybe he was in the clear who knew. His reactions vecame more sluggish as he made it to the tree line. Nearby he could hear the gentle lapping of waves washing ashore. He began to make his way towards the sound and soon found himself on the beach. His eyes were growing heavy and before he could pass out he did something that hopefully an elemental near him would see as a sign. As he fell to the ground twenty bolts of lightning struck all around the beach. |

Maeve ducked down, after Ray has pushed her down and motioned to be quiet, and half laid, half sat under the wall, listening to the conversation. She bit her tongue and stayed quiet, and when the other man made the threat, she clenched her hands together out of anger. She was sick of being hunted, and hated that this man was too, just because of who they were. She didn't even notice the signal that the man, Ray, had given her, but the water came down even harder, and lightening crackled overhead menacingly. Grinding her teeth, thunder rumbled over head, and flashing through the sky lightening burst. When the gun went off, she jerked pulling Ray down to her by sweeping his feet out from under him, and the rain made a blanket, almost like that of a waterfall, around the pavilion protecting her and Ray. The water raged at the men outside of the pavilion, and lightening flashed wildly. If it hit anything it was all chance. The water was hard, and almost like bullets themselves at this point to anyone unlucky enough to be caught in them. Throwing Her bag onto her shoulder, and tightening it, she motioned for Ray to follow, and closed her eyes for a moment, before running into a tunnel that she had just formed from pure will, straight into town and to a house she had found to be empty. The rain came down like buckets onto the mens heads, and most likely blinded them a little. The sky was pitch black now, with small flashes. The run was only about a mile, and the house was dark. She slipped into the back door, scared out of her mind, after waving Ray into the house, she closed the door, locking it, and taking his hand, leading him through the pitch blackness, she lead them into the cellar, and lite two candles. It was a large cellar, and the door was actually a hidden door, made to look like the rest of the wall. She breathed a long breath, and looked at Ray, smiling weakly. "Welcome to my pseudo-home." She said half mocking herself. Setting her back pack down, she sat in a love seat, and patted the cushion next to her. She was going to at least get to know him, seeing as she was risking her life for him, and he had done the same for her. Edited by Reaxeons, September 3, 2010, 8:40 pm.

-presses play button and puts remote down- alrighty...movie's back on...grabz da popcornz ~ Ray ~ Ray felt his belt grabbed and his legs were kicked out from under him. He landed on the cold concrete with a meaty slap and saw that the rain was now nearly a solid wall. He heard a thwack against the concrete as the bullet was forced down in its path towards Ray and the two men cry out against the heavy fall of the water. He pulled himself to his feet and whistled, impressed by her ability to control the storm to this extent. He watched as she created a bend in the rain's path, a tunnel, motioning to him as she ran through it. He looked to where he last saw the men and figured it was best to follow his new ally than to wait to see if the men survived the hard down pour. ~~~ They hadn't, when the rain became bullets, the drops ripped appart the umbrella and forced the men to the ground, beating them down and drowning them as they tried to breath. Once they were found, the local authorities would begin an investigation and write it off as a murder perpetrated by an Elemental of unknown origin as the rain had washed away both Ray's and Maeve's footprints. ~~~ Ray had no issue with keeping up, at one point he had almost ran her over due to his leg length. He followed her unhesitantly into the house, through the dark and down some stairs, he guessed into a cellar. He felt the fire before she even struck the match, feeling the building heat as she set the flammable head of the stick against the sand paper. He clamped his mouth shut, forcing himself not to call to the fire and set the whole match box off. He calmly watched her light two candles, still forcing back his urge to make them bigger and rage brighter. He was left feeling a little saddened as she waved the match out too, as if he had just said good bye to a friend he wouldn't see for a long time. He walked over and sat down slowly on the love seat, looking at Maeve. He wasn't sure of her motives or even if she'd help him in his quest to end the hunt for the Phoenix Heart. "Thank you, Maeve, even if you were only protecting your identity you still saved me." He leaned back and sighed, he might be able to rest here if she offered, if she didn't he'd likely go to sleep in a tree where no one would see him. Either way he was going to have to rest soon, though some believed that elementals weren't human they were and had the same limits humans did most of the time unless they trained to go beyond them, but even then, they were still flesh. He suppressed a yawn and turned to the woman. "I came to you because i'm looking for allies to help me...there's an unnamed group of so-called scientists looking for the Phoenix Heart....the source of all our abilities. From what i've seen from observing them, that man that we just met was the head of one of two collection groups....They have taken two elementals so far, though i'm not sure of their abilities nor of their current status...but they've been putting together search parties to find and obtain the relic. I've been sent by my Community to stop them. I may be an elementalist, but i'm not the best at everything." He studied her face as he spoke, unsure if she would be willing to leave the safe confines of her life style. He hoped at least she would give it thought. He stood up and walked to the door, and stopping before it. "I want you to help me...consider the offer...I won't invade your space here, but I'll be around for a while watching...I'll find you when you need me." He waited in the door way for her response. He wasn't good with people often, preferring to keep away from them, but he did need others to help him, he wasn't a god, nor even close... ~ The HeadQuarters ~ Sadly, when Zephyr was brought in, the organization was unaware of his allergy to sedatives. The high dose that had been injected into his system was enough to throw him into a coma, though the doctors did all they could to revive him and keep him alive, his vitals quickly failed and he died. The feisty red headed Hayley, however, got aggravated enough that she began to fight her way out, torching and burning anyone in her path, but as she made her last break for freedom, she was shot in the back of the head by three different vantage points and killed even before the other two made contact, it was a sad end to two elementals indeed. The organization cleaned away the bodies and erased the two dead people's life, including that of any close family and friends then began searching for others to replace the two as well as other elementals so that the search team could be finalized. ~London~ Layla sat in a shadowy part of the cafe's terrace. Her paper cup was half empty of its contents. Her eyes were glued to a book in her hands. It was a tale of adventure and it had her sucked in. Her dark eyes were glued to the pages. Every once in a while, she would reach out her hand and pick up the takeout cup. She would sip at the coffee, never letting her eyes leave the page, before setting the cup back down on the napkin. Reading was one of the ways that kept Layla's mind at ease. She was focused on the words or her mind was in that world. She didn't have to think about what was going on around her. The stories never provoked her. Her abilities were dormant as she read on. Now that she was older and more in control, she liked being around other people. She never struck up conversations with many and a book meant to them that she was unapproachable. The breeze blew lightly through the fake trees that surrounded her. The pages of her book bent slightly, giving way to the wind. She slid her fingers up to keep it down. Her eyes never left the sentences she was looking at. |
| You don't only belong to yourself, you know. I doubt there is a single person in this world that belongs only to himself. When someone makes a connection there is always something shared. And so people will never be completely free. It's that which brings out fun, and sadness and love. | |

She listened, and watched him get up. Something inside of her stirred a bit . . .she didn't know if she trusted him completely, but he had risked his life for her, and she for him. She felt a bond, more so then anyone she had met since her parents double suicide. She needed someone to depend on, and if that meant going with him, and helping him . . . then she could deal with that. Staying here wouldn't work much longer anyways. The people and towns folk would get suspicious of the rain. Swallowing her saliva hard, she looked up to him with determination in her eyes. "I will help you. But I will help you only on one condition. You will never turn your back on me. If you ever leave me, or ever betray my trust that I am giving you right this moment, you will be like those men out in the rain. I will not take it nicely. Do we have a deal, Ray? I will be as good of a friend and ally as possible to you, if you do the same in return to me." She said, standing form her spot, and reaching a hand out towards him. If he wouldn't agree to her terms, all he had to do was walk out that door. He would never see her again, as long as she could avoid him. She would keep her word, and risk her life many more times, and die for him, if he did agree though. It was all up to him. Edited by Reaxeons, September 4, 2010, 2:54 am.

~ Ray ~ The man grinned and looked over his shoulder, the light that the two candles gave off not really able to reach his face, causing the shadows that danced across his face seem to put scales under his eyes, eyes that had a burning deep within them, a flame of their own. He wasn't aware of how he looked to her, all he knew is he was smiling. But his smile gave away a hidden nature that was chaotic, wild, and merciless. Not even Ray himself knew his true nature, the true nature of Fire and the Beast Within. It would scare the girl, it would scare her greatly. <i>"I like your style Maeve, you've got yourself a deal..." He turned around and walked into the full light, the look vanished as quick as it had come. To say that Maeve had made a deal with the devil was close. Ray's path was preordained when the Phoenix Heart fell, though he wasn't aware of it. When his hand closed on hers, she caught a glimpse of it. ~~ Phoenix Heart Memory ~~ Maeve would seem to stand on a frozen mountain side, looking down at a large crater, and a temple built in the center of it. She would fly in closer to a road leading to the temple, seeing four people slowly making their way through blizzard conditions but not being touched. Behind them a ways was Ray, nothing but a mass of clothing as he moved forward in the snow, but it was Ray, this she would know. Beside and behind her she saw a faint image of herself, as if she could exist there or couldn't, fate could sweep her aside, or she could choose not to go. ~~ End Memory ~~ Maeve collapsed, what seemed like an eternity was only the two seconds which Ray gripped her hand. She reeled from the shock of the memory and nearly hit the floor before a stunned Ray caught her. He lifted her gently back to her feet looking concerned. "Maeve? What happened? Are you alright?" A voice overpowered Rays as he spoke to her, an echoing, omnipotent sounding voice that threatened to bury the woman in a tide of dominance. She would hear it, and she would listen well. "You will tell no one of what I have shown you child...not even Ray knows what is to come. I am the source of your powers and Ray must find me. Four will come looking and he must be the one to stop them, or the world will burn..." Though the voice was strong, it was also feminine, sounding of a woman in her youth of 40's but filled to the brim with wisdom. "Should you come through in Aiding Ray, you will be rewarded greatly. If you don't it matters not. The timeline moves forward with or without you, Maeve the Rainstorm. The choice.......is yours...." The voice rippled away, leaving nothing but shreds as if it had been a dream. But how the woman took that dream was up to her.... Ray laid her gently on the love seat, looking concerned. A blank stare of wonder and shock had formed on Maeve's face as if she had just seen a god. Ray frowned and patted her face gently to try to make her come to her senses. "Maeve...hey...talk to me here...hey..." He was starting to become panicked, she had done this after shaking his hand and he was concerned that he had caused it. |

She smiled, and took his hand. She had only just clasped her hand to his, when she felt like she was falling . .. She looked around, and realized she was at the top of a frozen mountain side . . .there was a bowl in front of her in the mountain, and at the bottom in the center was a temple. Shivering slightly, she went into her elemental form without thinking, and flew down to get a look. She flew along a road towards the temple, and saw four people, walking but not touched by the snow trickling from the sky in such a way that all she could think was blizzard. She looked around, and saw that a bit farther back, was Ray, trekking his way through the snow, and covered from head to toe in clothing. She couldn't see his face clearly, but she knew it was Ray . . . how she knew was a mystery to her, and she just stared a bit, before realizing she saw herself . . . or what would be a faint ghost of herself. It was as if she could be there . . . or she could not . . .it was like overlapping a picture when taking photos with an old camera. She shivered again, but not from the cold. Suddenly she was soaring high, not in control of what she was doing anymore . . .She soared so high, and suddenly, without warning, dropped, and plopped back into her body, falling over from where she stood near Ray. He caught her, and seemed worried. His mouth moved, and she could feel him talking, but she didn't hear him. Her eyes glazed slightly, and she heard a different voice speaking to her. "You will tell no one of what I have shown you child...not even Ray knows what is to come. I am the source of your powers and Ray must find me. Four will come looking and he must be the one to stop them, or the world will burn...Should you come through in Aiding Ray, you will be rewarded greatly. If you don't it matters not. The timeline moves forward with or without you, Maeve the Rainstorm. The choice.......is yours...." The voice was not loud, or frightening, if anything, the voice made Maeve think of a mother, or someone to look forward to and almost be loved by . . .The voice rippled away, like water in a pond, and she was left wondering, in awe of what had just happened. Ray took her over to the couch, and laid her there. She heard him now, and he sounded panicky. She blinked hard, and shook her head slightly. "I . . . I am fine Ray . . ." She said, turning her head and looking into his face. Searching for something, she didn't even know what. She sat up, and felt sick to her stomach, but that would have to pass, they needed to be heading out. Reaching a hand up, she hoped he wouldn't mind her needing the help to walk for a while. She would lead him to a car that she had found and hot wired to use around here, and with the money she had, they would be more then set for a good while with gas and food until they got to wherever they needed to be. She stood, and for just a moment, felt that presence, almost hear that voice Remember Rainstorm . . . tell no one of what you have been shown . . . She nodded to herself, and looked back to Ray once more. "I have a car that we can use to get on the road and move faster then just walking . . . my other form . . . the one that would be the fastest . . . I haven't figured it out just yet . . . I fall out of the sky if I don't focus completely on staying up there . . . and if I can't think to where I'm going, its no help for me. Not yet, anyways." She said, almost embarrassed. What kind of elemental was she? She couldn't even do her form. . . Edited by Reaxeons, September 4, 2010, 11:09 pm.

~ Ray ~ The elementalist took her hand and set her back on the couch, frowning at her fiercely. "No. We're not going anywhere till both of us have rested. As for learning how to take your form...I'll teach you on the way. I've gotta contact my Community before we leave so I can get the latest rumors on elemental activity...more allies if possible or at least someone that will help when the time comes." He patted her shoulder and looked around, the furnishings were limited to one person living but he didn't mind. He was used to sleeping in discomfort considering it was how he kept hidden from the organization so long. He relined against the love seat and closed his eyes slightly, sighing more from the exertion of multiple powers today than anything else. His eyes stayed shut but he didn't sleep fully, he had learned to be aware of his surroundings while he rested but not fully sink into sleep. All of his senses perked, on guard against anything while his mind slowly relaxed. @ravenroses and boomstick: if you'll hold on just a little longer I'll be gettin' to you ![]() planes+elementals=fail! She smiled as she saw him sit next to her on the love seat, and close his eyes. She wasn't sure if he was actually asleep, but she hoped if he wasn't he wouldn't lash out when she did was she was planning. Standing up carefully, she walked around to the back of the love seat, and pushed a button. the love seat leaned back at a 180 degrees angle, and the reclining part of the foot rest shot out, banging and making a loud clang. The love seat now resembled an oddly pillowed full mattress. Sneaking over to a corner, she picked up her huge comforter, and threw it over Ray, climbing on to the love seat/ bed, and snuggling down into the blanket. It was a warm blanket, and soft, being worn down from continual use over and over. She turned on her side and looked at Ray. " . . . Sorry to seem too straight forward, but this is much more comfy then the usual set up, and I figured you might like it instead of sitting all night . . . And if I roll in my sleep . . . just shove me off the side, I don't mean to do it, but I have been told that I snuggle into people when I sleep without knowing it . . . " She added the last warning quietly, not knowing if he would be creeped out by her or not . . . she was surprised at herself even, for feeling comfortable in a bed with this man . . .she didn't know him . . . but she trusted him . . . and that was not how she normally acted . . . She buried her face, which was turning bright red, into her arm, and fell asleep quickly. In the night she did slowly make her way to Rays side, and snuggled into him in her sleep. It was up to him wither she would wake up on the floor or where she was at the moment curled into his side, one hand over his chest. Edited by Reaxeons, September 6, 2010, 6:52 am.

~ Ray ~ He jumped when the love seat sprang outwards, not expecting something like that to happen, his eyes snapped open and stared at the piece of furniture. "Alrighty then... He stood up and sat back down on the edge of the new "bed" and was attacked by a flying comforter. He peeled it off of him and frowned a bit, he wasn't used to this kind of treatment at all, even back at his Community. He watched as the woman snagged the blanket and made herself into a near cocoon in it. He laid down and nodded, not really thinking much of what she said as he entered his state of near sleep once more just before she had finished talking. Sure enough, later that night she had rolled nearly onto him, slapping her hand across his chest, making him grunt in surprise. He opened an eye and peeled her off of him rolling her so that she face the opposite direction once more. He wasn't rude enough to just flip her off her own "bed" but he wasn't quite comfortable with someone that close to him either. He sighed and stood up quietly, walking out of the basement and abandoned house silently so that he wouldn't wake her. He stood on the sidewalk near the house and looked around the empty street, it was still dark but hints of sunlight were starting to show as well. He doubted that there would be a pay phone around this place at all, and contacting the Community would have to wait till he found one. He walked back inside and patted Maeve's foot. "Hey, come on....time to go... He finally realized that it was dark in the room, the candles having burned out while they slept. He went over and waved his hand over the extinguished candles and two small flames sprang to life from what little remained of the wick. |

She felt her foot be touched, and kicked out hard, and hitting something. Looking up and sitting up straight as an arrow, she heard Ray speak. Her heart slowed its desperate beating and her mind cleared a little. She wasn't in danger, she was fine. She got herself to breathe normally once more, and got off of the bed love seat. Folding it up, and grabbing her blanket, she stuck her head through the small hole she had cut and sewn into it, and wore the thing like a Pancho. Turning to where she had had head him walk to, she saw him light the candles. Is he just a fire elemental? . . . She stared for a moment longer, before lowering her eyes, and walking over to him. "So . . . what are we doing now?" She asked, cracking her neck and back. She wasn't tired, but she could have gone for a little more sleep. But beggars can't be choosers, and she just needed to be told what to do. She shook her red hair from side to side, and looked up at him with her clear eyes. |

~ Ray ~ He frowned and jerked his hand away from her kick, instead he was struck on his thigh and shook his head sighing. He frowned and watched the candles dance as she stretched and spoke. "I already told you, I've got to contact my Community and see if there are any updates...two people were brought to the organization yesterday...I need to find out if they're targeting any more elementals and if there are people who can aid us." He looked up at her, not turning his head he had a feeling she was wondering if he was just a fire elemental, though, he could've been wrong after all he had put a hole in her storm so that he could dry off. He turned and walked to the door of the room, pulling out a piece of cloth from his pocket and looking at it. The cloth was ornate, much like a miniature tapestry, it had unfamiliar writing on it to anyone but those in the Elementalist Communities. It was not only an identification but it was also a schedule, a time frame of who would be keeping an ear out for the call and what language would need to be spoken. Ray looked back over his shoulder and frowned. "Get what you need...and only what you need. This is going to be a long trip...Ever wanted to see Ireland?" He chuckled and left the room, walking carefully through the house and outside, it was still the morning twilight and a few cars were rolling by. He put the cloth back in his pocket shaking his head, he needed to get to a pay phone so he would be able to contact the Community, but at the same time he needed to return so he could get a full status report. He frowned, Maeve's lack of ability to take her storm form was only a minor problem, the elementalist could easily teach her since he could take most every form but for the snow, plant, and water. Those skills he greatly lacked. ( there is a week time on this rp for any who are readin' this...I need main characters to progress with...of which i've only got one e-e should I not have at least three mains by the end of this week this rp goes to the graveyard) |
