  • He opened the door of his sister's apartment and immediately threw the visor off his head that he was obligated to wear at work.

"Is anyone home?" he called out, shutting the door behind him. No answer. He peeked into the living room, seeing no one. "hmmm...". He walked into the kitchen, where last night's plain spaghetti was still on the oven and it smelled of spices. On the fridge was a small piece of paper held down by a magnet with his sister's handwriting on it.
At work. Be back soon. it said, followed by a phone number that he couldn't make out, as his sister's scrawl was like reading a doctor's note. He chuckled a bit, then started his way back to his room, which hadn't been moved as of yet. He took off his bag, and set it in a chair. Across the room lay his first few boxes eager to be taken to the newly acquired apartment. He picked up the largest box head-on, not wasting any time on the heavy things. Then, as he walked backwards through doors, more and more had he wished he'd seperated the things in the box into two. Out the front door and to his car, Charlie leaned the box on a single arm and shoulder. Only now had he realized he had forgotten to unlock the door before he went inside.

He grunted. He didn't want to drop the box and get his keys from his backpocket, that'd only waste time. Rather, he reached for his keys in the pocket to press the button, furtherly straining his left arm that held the box. As soon as he did he reached for the door and swung it open. Catching himself off balance from the hard swing, he leaned his fall for the cushioned seats a little too well, and some loose objects fell from the top of the box. He whispered a curse, then righted it before he headed back to the important for the next box.

After fitting all the boxes in the backseat, -most with less effort than the first- he started his car and quickly drove off, in search for his new apartment.
