Matthew Hunter It had not been a very long walk to where Matthew had heard the water. As he walked closer to the noise the sound of water became very noticeable. He guessed that no one else would have been here, but imagine his surprise when he noticed a kid, that looked around his age, bend down and start to fold some cloths that had been on the ground. It seemed like an odd time to be doing laundry, especially the first day of the school year. As Matthew sneaked in to get a closer look he saw that they were women’s cloths. “Ha-ha, guess his sister is making him do this.” Matthew thought in his head while he began to climb up the tree for a better angle. Just then out of the corner of his eye Matthew saw a ripple in the water, a ripple that seemed to belong to…a seal? Now Matthew was very confused. “Why the heck is there a seal here? …does it belong to that kid?” He whispered to himself. As he continued to watch the seal he saw it starting to change…into a girl. He started to wonder how fresh that rabbit that he had eaten was. Or it might be that he was dehydrated. He did feel thirsty. As the girl noticed the boy she let out a terrific scream that then vanished back into the water. The boy seemed to be just as startled and was just standing there. Matthew was now wondering what was going on. Another reason for this interesting display could have something to do with there powers. “Yes that is a lot more logical then me being crazy.” Matthew thought to himself. The next thing to do was on how to approach this. He hadn’t really met anyone since he had gotten here and reviling himself to these people didn’t really seem like a bad idea. The worst that could happen would be that the seal would scream again. Yes that is what he would do. But what would be the best approach? “I might as well jump out of this tree and show myself.” He thought, but didn’t do. “Or I could sneak up on that kid…ha ha, ya that’s what I will do.” He thought to himself with a smirk before he turned invisible and got down from the tree. Matthew quickly moved himself across the ground and over to the boy. He then leaned up still invisible and whispered in him ear “I believe she screamed only because you weren’t meant to be here.” |

Ryan Tills In short succession Ryans friends dismissed themselves from the table giving there own reason of needing some air. They'd all finished their food like Ryan had so it was bound to happen. He waved good buy to each of them as they left their seperate ways while he continued to twirl his pencil in his other hand trying to think of something to draw. He wanted to draw SOMETHING he just couldn't figure what. Ryans pencil stopped twirling in his fingers as another sense of Deja vu washed over him. looking around he noticed his new roommate at the entrance of the Cafeteria Ryan couldn't figure out Sonny's gift and if deja vu was involved he might want to know. For informational reasons only. However seeing as everyone had left for the seperate directions and Sonny seemed a bit busy with getting food, he grabbed and put away his pencil and paper before grabbing his tray and depositing it in the usual dirty dishes spot making his way though the crowd and out of the cafeteria. Where to go now...? he probably should head back to his room and unpack. It wouldn't take him long and after that he might have a better idea where he wanted to go. Making his way to his dorm he quickly unpacked his things. Taking a deep breath of the room he lay back on his bed to think of where he wanted to go for the time being. Everyone else seemed to have gone outside so the idea was tempting, but not enough to get him outside."I guess i'll go to the libary... hang out a read a book or something" Rolling off the bed Ryan grabs his dorm key and heads out in the direction of the library. On his way through the halls he just took the time to admire the decor of the buildings the old private school look Hidden hils had was fun to draw sometimes so much more detail and look to the place then the plain unifor look of other schools. Reaching the library he begins to scan the books for something to read eventually deciding on a book roughly covering the topic of supernatural dolls. He wasn't looking to do any evil voodoo rituals, but it'd been hinted that his gift might be extended to 3d objects like paper dolls or the like. |

Zack The Physician was very surprised when he heard a second voice, a much younger and female voice, coming from the teacher's room. When Raphael opened the door and dismissed the student, Zack glanced at the girl then to his friend with a smile, "Yes, of course." He stepped inside and was surprised to find the light on. Usually, Raphael had it turned off and the room bathed in darkness. Then again, he had just been entertaining a student. "My apologies for intruding, but today has been... taxing for me." He said as he turned to face the vampiric professor. He knew Raphael would understand what he meant. The two had reached something of an understanding in that regard. Zack found it so much easier to relax in the vampire's presence. His undead nature meant that he felt no such urges around him. Although there were times when Raphael had offered to be Zack's punching bag, so to speak, when his sadistic urges had stacked up and become unbearable. "How about you? The usual reaction to the sudden influx of students?" He was pretty sure the answer would be much the same as last year, but something he felt compelled to ask anyway. He knew Raphael's handle on his urges was probably stronger than Zack's. After all, it meant being reviled by the entire student body if he gave into his urges. It would probably mean the end of his teaching career as well. |

![]() Ama "Muse" Rosen Location: Music Room/Library Ama sighed as the song came to an end. She scrolled through her internal playlist for something else to play and came, sadly, blank. She'd been away from the instruments for too long. Sure, she'd dabbled with a flute or a violin every once in a while but usually she kept her hands to herself and now she had nothing in mind to play except her own raw songs. Ama felt uncomfortable playing them just yet as they weren't fully developed and she needed to adjust certain things before bringing the songs to life. It was then, Ama got the idea to do some searching. If they had a music room the school had to have music books and sheet music right? She stood up from the piano bench and shut the lid down on the keys to keep dust from settling. She smiled to herself as she decided to search the room for anything that would contain compositions for the piano. There were shelves of textbooks on how to approach playing on the piano but she didn't need those. Her fingers would always know the keys she loved so dearly since birth. It was part of her gift to be atuned to the sounds and keys of music, but she still wanted to sharpen the make the talent smoother. No matter what kind of 'prodigy' some labeled her as, she still wanted to learn. Ama came up short on the shelves, not finding many compositions to play. She frowned, wondering where she may find any and finally realized, quite slowly, that Hidden Hills may have them in the library. She pulled out her map and scanned the first floor for its location and smiled in satisfaction as she found it. The library wasn't too far from here... "Hmm," Ama mused as she wandered into the library and shoved her map back into her pocket. She didn't want to look too new. She gazed up at all the walls and walls filled with books. Why hadn't she come here first? The place was delectable in its hidden wonders. She walked down the isles, searching for what she wanted the most out of these books. "Come on, give me Bach, Mozart, something," she mumbled as she scrolled the shelves. |

![]() Raphael answered that question rather plainly as he took the blood packet out of his pocket. He shrugged before biting off the end and starting to sip the blood through the tube end like a straw. Though it tasted a bit like plastic, it was still what he needed. It had been torture holding off on drinking it while surrounded by all of those students. He sat down on his bed as he continued to sip on the blood. A definite hint of crimson had crept into the lilac of his eyes, and he almost seemed to be purring slightly as he drank the blood. Drinking blood had always felt rather good to him, though his reactions to it were somewhat subdued at present. Quite frankly, the vampire looked tired. No wonder. It was the middle of a rather trying day. He was always like this for the first couple days of the school year. "I believe it goes without saying how I am faring today," he said to the doctor before taking another sip of the blood. "Especially since I spent a short time in the cafeteria." That should probably surprise Dr. Garrison. Raphael usually avoided such student-filled places. Edited by That Butler, July 21, 2010, 4:27 pm.

![]() Ryoku was still sitting on the bench, doing his usual thing. He ignored most of the activity and got up. He stretched down for a little bit and adjusted his hair to the side a little bit. He looked at the cafeteria's front door and it was pouring with students going in and out. Then he walked back down to the statue he was sitting in the first time and sat back down on the statue located in the center of the courtyard. Ryoku didn't know what to do from this point on, he's not really a social type of person, what choices where there. He was thinking of going back to his dorm, but it'd be even more boring there. He looked up, over in the distance by the meadow hill he was sitting on earlier. All he could see was a massive tree blocking the view from the left side. He picked up a stone right in front of him and threw it over the gates of the school, hopefully it doesn't hit someone, or hit a car. He grabbed another stone, slightly larger, but this time he didn't throw it. He played with it like a baseball, tossing it up, and catching it. |

~Cafeteria~ Sabet blinked at the girls outbursts. She continued to pursue Professor Raphael about his origins, despite his obvious avoidance of the subject. He was still surprised when the professor promptly left after speaking in a tone that made Sabet want to obey. He mentally shook the urge from his mind. He then noticed that Aki was gone, having not heard what she said about apologizing because he wasn't paying attention. He turned listened to what Daen had to say. "Yes, my father spoke highly of the professor err...Doctor, so I've heard a great many things about him, none of which were him being a vampire hahaha!" He said with a good demeanor. He scarfed down what remained of his food quickly and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and licked off what stuck to it. "So Daen, do you know the school well? I want to get back to my room but I'm a bit lost here" he said rubbing the back of his fiery head and chuckling. |

Ryan Tills As Ryan read the current book in his hand, he flipped to the contents to find a simple 3d object to learn about and maybe consider trying to make and animate. Reading down the line of objects his eyes stop at paper dolls. this sounds pretty simple.. and knowing from past examples simple is where to start Flipping through the chapters to the paper dolls chapter and began to read. Smiling a bit to himself as he read seeing that if he was looking for simple paper dolls were the way to go. Ryan was in the middle of the chapter when the soft sounds of footsteps on the library carpet passed him by looking up form his book he was just able to watch someone wander into the library clearly looking for something before they passed where he was sitting to go into the row of books behind him. Ryan lifted his book back up to begin reading again when he heard her mention Bach and Mozart. Setting his book back down he bookmarks the page and takes the book with him to go help her. he often studied in the library so he knew where most of the sections were. "Couldn't help hearing you're looking for Bach and Mozart...what about them are you looking for? Because the biographies and autobiographys are over there on the far left wall" Gesturing to the biographies to sho her the way. He stayed put incase those werent what she was looking for. As he stood there he remembered he hadn't introduced himself "By the way I'm Ryan sorry i didn't introduce myself earlier" Ryans fingers lightly drummed on the book he was carrying while he waited for a response slightly hoping he hadn't butted in or bothered her. |

![]() Daen laughed along with Sabet, but he wasn't too sure that it was a good idea for the red-head to be making light of the fact that their teacher might be a vampire. He'd gotten the hint that Dr. Volerus didn't want others to know about it if he was, so why was Sabet still talking about it? Might want to play that down a bit. "Well, I doubt he really is a vampire," he said as his laughter died down. "That would be a little too interesting for a school, right?" When Sabet asked him if he knew his way around, he answered, "Well enough, I guess. Not exactly a tricky place to navigate. Though if you need to be led back to the hallway where the boys' dorms are, I can take you there. Which room are you in?" He didn't for one moment suspect that he and Sabet were in the same room. |

Zack The site of Dr. Raphael beginning to sip on the blood packet was not something that really bothered Zack. He'd gotten used to it over the years. Still, the gesture spoke volumes of his day if he was already needing it. The vampiric professor's verbal confirmation made it a certainty. Then he surprised Zack with the fact that he'd spent some time in the cafeteria among all the students. Zack's eyes went wide and he said, "Really? That's impressive, being able to spend any amount of time in such a place." He shook his head and looked off to the side, "I couldn't... I would snap if I were to go in there right now. And that's never a pretty thing..." Of course, that went without saying. Victims and witnesses alike always got a chill at the look on Dr. Garrison's face when he slipped out of control. The sound of his voice would make them shiver and squirm. He laughed unconvincingly and added, "I could barely handle just running into some solitary students in the halls." He sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. |

![]() "Well, you and I will both have to keep a handle on our respective urges," Raphael stated before taking another sip of the blood. He'd already drained half the packet, and he looked down at the bag with a hint of regret. He could never make those things last. "It is always difficult the first day the students are in the building." Another sip, and another glance at the packet, as though measuring how many more drinks of it he could take before it was gone. The downside to those blood packets was that they were never quite filling enough. They were nothing compared to taking fresh blood from a living victim. Just the thought of fresher blood made more of that crimson shade enter his eyes. Ah, blood lust... Always made a little worse by this packaged blood rather than better. Still, it was better than refraining from drinking blood at all. That would drive Raphael clear out of his mind within a few days, especially with the increased number of potential victims around. |

![]() Ama "Muse" Rosen Location: Library Maybe she just wasn't in the right section because no matter what she looked under, there was no mentioning of the two most famous composers. If they didn't have those two, what was her luck going to be like trying to find the others such as Yurima? She kept back a stream of curses. Maybe she'd have better luck at a public library but would she be allowed to head out? Ama sighed and put back the book she'd been flipping through in vein. It was just another tutorial on the piano keys. She was past those steps and just wanted to play something! If only she hadn't spent so much time away from her music, she'd had better memory of the songs she wanted to play. She jumped in her own skin at the sound of someone's voice. It had been so quiet that she thought no one else had been in there with her, or had she been too focused on her mission to notice? "Oh, no, no. I'm looking for sheet music," Ama confessed somewhat sheepishly. She felt so much like a freshman when approached by others who weren't as new to Hidden Hills as her. It was a pain to have to ask for help. She smiled kindly at the boy, Ryan. "I'm Ama, sorry I didn't notice you before." |

Hana pulled a chair out and sat next to the other students. She silently ate her chocolate bar, listening to the buzz of conversation around her. She finally realized what they were talking about before, and why Dr.Volerus left. They thought he was a vampire. She supressed a giggle and the thought but then turned serious again. 'It could be possible' She thought curiously. 'That'd would be kind of cool' She didn't really care that vampires drank blood, she lways found other races and powers fascinating. She suddenly stood up and left the table. Even with being there so long she still felt out of place with all the other students. She really didn't have any friends and didn't think shed get any by the end of that school year. Hana walked out of the doors of the school to get some fresh air . She made her way quickly though the ground os the school and into the courtyard. She started running towards the other side of the courtyard but ended up tripping and falling face first, almost hitting her head on the base of the statue that was right in the middle of the courtyard. She slowly got up on her knees and wiped the dirt out of some cuts on her forhead, wincing as she did so. Noticing a boy sitting on the base close to where she landed she turned a bright red. "I-im sorry!" She stammered, embarassed. She She slowly stood up, sucking air in through her teeth as she pushed a small rock into a cut on her knee. 'Why couldn't i have landed on the grass instead of this stupid graver' She thought. Edited by Bittersweet Silence, July 21, 2010, 8:00 pm.

Sahiba Sahiba hid a frown as everyone made their excuses to leave and headed off in their own directions. What a way to make a mess of things... She made a mental note to avoid jumping on anyone for a while, just to be safe. The girl sighed and, getting a cup of soda, made her own exit from the cafeteria. Like the others, well, most from her table, she found herself outside. Taking a drink of her soda, Sahiba wandered around the courtyard, enjoying the warmth like she had upon her arrival. Such an interesting first day of school... She passed close to Nika's tree as she walked, not noticing the girl as she was too caught in her own thoughts. A usually uncharacteristic frown formed on her mouth, she never meant to cause trouble. This wasn't a good start to the year. Her next thought mimicked Nika's as the girl stopped nearby. She use her power over nature to bring a higher branch down and sat on it, then the branch moved to it's original place high in the tree. She likely would have climbed up, instead, if it hadn't been for the soda she had in her hand. Her current perch, though, had her just above Nika and Sahiba blinked as she spotted the girl. "Hi, again..." She flushed, embarrassed from the earlier scene, but she moved down a little, so she was next to the girl instead of above her. |

Zack Zack nodded and sat up straight. Raphael was correct, although Zack felt sometimes that his urges could be dangerous in a much more... subtle way, than simple blood-lust. Certainly, the overt urges to hurt people were the most garish and prevalent of them, but it wasn't that simple. It could that, or it could be as simple of an impulse as say, adding a nerve cell to a place it doesn't belong or disabling one somewhere else. Things that might not have results immediately, but cause trouble and pain for someone down the road. It didn't matter whether or not he actually witnessed the pain, just the simple fact that he'd planted a seed was satisfactory for the less noisy side of his desires. Those were the hardest to ignore. It would have been so simple... and nobody would ever be able to see... or know that it was his doing. Unless they knew about his powers. And some of those rare few that did, usually heard about some sickness or health issues about alumni and faculty and would wonder... was it Dr. Garrison's doing? Another one of his slips? As of yet, he had yet to give in to those urges. At least, not without correcting the anomaly put into the person's body. Filling his mind with grim thoughts was getting him nowhere. And it wasn't why he had come to speak with the good vampiric professor. No, he came for some discourse, hopefully of a subject that would help null his desires and being in the presence of an undead man would prevent any new urges from arising. "At any rate... tell me, how has your research been going? I'm interested to hear if you've made any new discoveries." Edited by Drakedragon, July 23, 2010, 1:39 am.

![]() "No new discoveries of mine," Raphael stated with a small shrug. His eyes were very nearly the color of blood as he looked up at Dr. Garrison. "However, I have been asked by one of the smaller scientific journals to review a new submission of theirs. Naturally, I have been running through that study with a fine-tooth comb..." And attempting to replicate the results of the research. Because if the results couldn't be replicated, then the study shouldn't be published. He was going about this the most thorough way possible. A bit on the expensive side, but you tend to accumulate quite a bit of cash if you are clever and have been around for longer than two natural human lifetimes. Reviewing that study had been eating up his time during the summer. He drained the rest of the blood in the bag before discarding it and sitting down on his bed again. His eyes were still that crimson shade, and they would probably remain that way until he managed to calm down a bit. He wanted to grab another bag and send it the way of the first, but he'd run out of stored blood very quickly if he gave in and let himself drink as much as his thirst called for. |

![]() Courtyard/Statue As Ryoku was about to toss up the stone, a clumsy girl came full speed at him, and hit the ground, about an inch from his shoe. "I-im sorry!" the girl said, and Ryoku responded with a blank look. There's just too many surprises today he thought to himself. Looking at the girl, eye to eye, his eyes slightly changed hues from blue to red. Thinking that would either scare the girl off, or get her curious enough to ask questions about himself. After a few seconds, he went back to playing with the stone in his hand, knowing that not many people will talk to him. What will happen next? thinking to himself. "Why couldn't i have landed on the grass instead of this stupid gravel" said the girl to herself, he chuckled for the first time in a long time. "Because the grass is that way" he said, pointing towards out the gate, where it was full of grass and vibrant bushes. His attempt to be humorous for once. |

Hana looked confused for a second, not realizing she'd said that out loud. She stood up completely just to flop down beside Ryoku. She noticed his eyes change color but didn't say anything about it, noting in her head to maybe ask him about it later. She smiled sheepishly and laughed quietly at his joke. "Im Hana..." She said with a smile, "Sorry to..umm... bother you..." Finally after thinkig for a few seconds her curiousity got the best of her. "H-how did you get your eyes to... umm... change like that?" She asked quietly, hoping the question wasn't too weird. "Y'now from like... blue to red..." She didn't mind if he didn't answer her questions, some people didn't like talking about their powers or what they are. She waited awrkwardly, not used to talking to people. |

![]() Courtyard/Statue After realizing how bad his joke was, he gave up and changed his expression back to a blank and bored look. "You can call me Ryo for short. A few minutes after they greeted each other, the girl asked the exact question he was expecting, he smiled. He answers. "I really don't know how it happens. It just does, I've no idea how or why me eyes even do that. But they tend to do it often when I lock eyes with others, like what happened just now." Having said that, a flashback occurs after. Ryoku was at his old house, looking at a little clock. It was broken and ancient, the red hand going back and forth. Then, he heard his parents yelling as always, he stepped down a narrow hallway leading to the kitchen where his parents yelling. As all sounds faded, he watched the two scream their throats at each other. Ryoku stood and watched, and finally, when he couldn't take anymore, he involuntarily blasted and shattered a window with his lightning powers. Ryoku snapped out of the trance like memories, his eyes once again, changed colors to red. He doesn't know what the flashback meant, or why it even happened. He looked down on his hands, and little sparks were starting to discharge. Ryoku at this point was clueless and confused. |

Beautiful Mistake
|
![]() Leena's heart would not stop pounding. She had been found out. All this time she had tried to hide it and she had been found out by a simple mistake. She had assumed she was safe, assumed that no one was around. But she had been wrong. She peaked out of the reeds and looked at Kael. He looked more embarrassed than shocked. But hey, they went to a school for the gifted, shapeshifters were not a rarity. He must not know quite what she is. But Leena would have to tell him then, in case he looked it up on his own and used that knowledge against her. What was she thinking? She could trust Kael, he was a friend. "So uh... Leena... you're a... shapeshifting seal thing?" Kael awkwardly began, trying to relieve the situation, "Um... sorry about that. I didn't mean to stare like that... I mean, I could have guessed you weren't human, it's just kind of surprising to find out exactly what." Leena smiled, he was so genuine she couldn't help it. He didn't know, and his intentions were certainly not bad. I guess now he had a right to know. Slowly, she changed back into her human form, making sure that the reeds and the sealskin still covered everything that needed to be covered. She popped her head out of the water and smiled weakly at him, letting him know that she wasn't completely upset about the situation. "You found me out," she said jokingly, "Sorry you had to see any of... this." She gestured to her body, letting out a weak laugh. "I might as well tell you know. I'm sure I can trust you not to tell anyone... I'm a Selkie. My main form is actually a seal. But I can take off my skin and change into a human. I'm so protective of my sealskin... well, because without it I can't change back. Without it I can't go back into the ocean..." She left out the fact that he mother was being held captive on the land for that reason as well as all the other baggage that comes with being the race she was. It was a discussion for another time. Right now, she needed to get back into her clothes. She blushed at the thought. Right now she was naked in her human form in front of a human boy, it was incredibly inappropriate by human standards. Selkies themselves found no fault in it, for they were naked in their seal forms, why not in a human form as well. But Leena was learned in the ways of humans, and clothes were a must. Leena changed back into her seal form and swam back to the edge of the pond where her clothes were to be found. She looked over to Kael and barked, hoping he would get the point that he had to turn around. But that's when she heard the other voice, her higher level of hearing in her seal form clearly made out the whispered statement. Leena's seal eyes widened with fear and without thinking, she sent an orb of water in the direction of the voice, which happened to be right at Kael. |

![]() Aki smiled back at Dr. Volerus. This had gone a lot better than she originally thought. A small part of her had thought she was going to be scolded for speaking out of line or something. But this teacher seemed to be reasonably understanding. He ushered to the door when the voice of another man was heard at it. She guessed that the teachers had friends too, and that they wanted to hang out too, so she was fine with leaving. "I hope you enjoy the rest of your day, Miss Omallia." Dr. Volerus said to her as she leaved. "You too sir," Aki replied, "And... it's getting late. So have a good night as well." Aki grinned at him, and skipped off out of his room, just barely glancing at the other man. She assumed he was another teacher, but being merely a freshman on her first day, she did not know. Aki loved being part of a secret, and she would be sire never to tell anyone at the school. Maybe her parents, but no one else. Aki may seem like a ditz, but she knew that secrets were secrets and they were meant to be kept. Aki in fact held thousands of secrets in her mind. The spirits would whisper to her secrets of their past. Some spirits would even follow others in her life around just so they could return to Aki and talk about the secrets of another to her. Aki did not encourage this, but she did not discourage it either, for it could be useful someday. |

Hana smiled. "I wish i could do that...." She smiled. "My names Hana...." She noticed him go blank for a about a minute. She looked concerned as he snapped out of his trance. "Are you alright..." She asked him, wondering why he looked so confused. She narrowed her eyes slightly, looking almost as confused as he was. "Your eyes are red again...." She commented quietly, beginning to wonder what exactly was wrong. She looked down at his hands and saw sparts shooting out of his fingeres in every direction. She moved away an inch, not wanting to get shocked. Then she looked up at Ryo, focusing on the real problem again. |

Nika Ookamidai Location: Courtyard Nika watched from her perch as Sahiba came into her view, seeming a little troubled. Possibly about the incident in the cafeteria, which seemed to have dampened the mood of everyone involved. She herself, however, wasn't too troubled by it. A little fresh air would do everyone good, and everything would be better tomorrow. She took another sip of her coffee, enjoying her view, in spite of the fact that it was partially blocked by leaves. When Sahiba came over to the tree and claimed her own perch in it, moving the branch around, Nika thought to say something, but kept silent. She had absolutely no idea what to say to her. "Hi, again..." She was very surprised to hear Sahiba greet her, but quickly regained her composure. "Hello," she replied with a nod and a smile. It was then that she took notice of the senior's truly embarrassed state, and her smile faded to a concerned frown. "You shouldn't beat yourself up too much over this," she commented, taking another sip of her coffee. "It wasn't as though any harm came of it." |

Ryan Tills Ryan smiled glad he hadn't bothered her. Some of the students at hidden hills could be jumpy about how close you got to them or their things. like what happened recently at the cafeteria, though sometimes it was because of their powers they didn't like people getting close."No problem Ama, I'm really quiet and hard to notice in here..I prefer the library to be quiet... any music or noise to be held in the music room or hallway"Ryan shifted his book to his other hand before continuing"As for sheet music...the music section of the library is back a few more isles...I think..I don't go there much myself." Ryan shifted past Ama towards the music section of the library gesturing her to follow him. A few isles in they got to the music section of the library. Glad he'd remembered correctly he theatrically gestured to the shelves as a little joke. "I don't know exactly where on the shelves the sheet music is, but it's there. I did a project that required me to be able to play a song." his fingers started to drum on the book he was holding again they were a bit restless, he wanted to draw something but he didn't know what to draw. Ignoring that fact he asked Ama "New to hidden hills?...or just don't remember stuff from last year?" Ryan ran into the issue of forgetting wher everything was during the begining of sophmore year. Having to find everything again wasn't fun when there wasn't much time between classes to get to your next class. |

Kael He was relieved to see Leena smile and not get any more upset. At first, he was worried she might run off and that would create all kinds of new problems for both of them. His face gained a subtle tint of red as she started to walk further out of the water in her human form again so that he could see her more clearly, very much aware that she was naked and only scarcely covered. It took conscious effort to keep his eyes from wandering, but he was able to keep looking her in the eye as she spoke. The laugh helped him relax a bit, feeling the tension that had earlier been filling the air siphon off and away. He listened attentively as she explained what she was, why her seal skin was so important to her and what could happen to her without it. But more than anything, he realized she was willing to tell him all this in good faith. He pondered the significance of that for a moment before the Selkie's transformed bark brought him back to the present. He looked over to see that she was watching him expectantly and nodded. He was about to turn around when someone whispered in his ear. His reactions were immediate. First, his powers activated on impulse and he became light as a feather. A second later he kicked off and launched high into the air... far, far higher than he would normally dare to try, until he was an ant to those on the ground. He let out a loud curse, but he was so high up that the wind drowned his words out and made them into an incomprehensible exclamation to Leena and Matthew. It was close to a full minute before he finally landed back on the ground, sneakers splashing in the shallow water on the opposite side from where he previously stood. He stumbled a step and glared over his shoulder at sneak... Zack The Physician was disappointed that Raphael had nothing too new to talk about, but that was taken care of when he mentioned reviewing a study by other scientists. He nodded with a smile in understanding. He had only dabbled in attempting to publish or critiquing the works of others, but he knew much of what went into scrutinizing them. At the discarded bag, Zack glanced at the vampire's eyes and noted he was still not entirely satisfied. Still, bringing it up now wouldn't do him any good, so he went on and asked, "I see. How is that going? I imagine you're performing the experiment, so how far along are you?" He didn't bother to ask, 'Have there been any errors' because if there were, the study would be labeled false or incomplete and there would no longer be a need to review it. His own dabbling experiments have been producing... interesting results. But those weren't things he liked to share very often. At least, not all of them. He knew if he tried to publish anything, the first thing to be attacked would be his lack of a real degree. Then there would be exactly what he was doing and how he was doing it. Science didn't really like things that they considered 'mysticism' and his powers would certainly be labeled as such. |
