The Legend This is the letter that five fighters received, one temperate early fall morning. The receivers were wildly different, but they all have one thing in common. Though they may all have different fighting styles, they are in fact, the best of the best. They are the bravest, the strongest, the quickest, the most intelligent of warriors, which is why they have been selected for the mysterious “special task”. None of them know who sent it, and why. Never one to step down from a challenge, and never one to turn down a reward, they assent. Our story begins here, at their first meeting with the others in Bakir port, as they search for the ship Myst. Needless to say, they are all ready for this “great challenge”. But they do not know exactly how much danger they will be in. It is a task, as the letter says, will require everything the warriors have. And in the end, even that may not be enough. Other Important/General Info Essentially this is a sort of quest type of roleplay. If you hadn’t figured out from the brief introduction (so much briefer than any of my other ones), your character will be one of the five chosen (which I may move to seven, if I have enough people) that agree to set out on an unknown quest. They are the best warriors in their country, which is why they have been chosen. This roleplay will be unique in a way, becuase I will be playing the forces around your characters, “directing” the roleplay, if you will. So essentially, I’m acting as the world, including all NPCs. I'm going to try and keep the plot I have in mind hidden, but if you must know, I'll probably tell you. Still, it's more fun if you don't know ;) Some notes: I would prefer the warriors to be human. And because I will only have five roleplayers, please make sure you can post at least three times a week to make sure this roleplay keeps going. Literacy: I will be expecting literacy from this roleplay. That is, very few spelling/grammar mistakes. By this I mean none, but we all slip up, so I’ll be lenient. Still, if I see this is going to be a problem, I probably won’t accept you. Post length I would like to be long, but it’s not that important for me. This roleplay will be in roughly medieval times The skill level of your character will evenly match with other characters. Npcs will be a different story. But please do keep in mind that although your character is among the most powerful in the realm, they still do have weaknesses and can be wounded. The following is list of "occupations" that I would like to see in order to create diversity. I will strike out the ones that are "taken." For the sake of the roleplay, once an occupation is taken, it's taken. You're more than welcome to have your character have some skill in that field, but whoever's character has that skill as his/her main occupation will naturally be superior in the art. This is me, hero, warrior, savior Here is your lovely lovely skeleton. I trust you know what to do with it. A couple notes: I would very much prefer it for your fighter to be human, or if not human, magic-less of sorts. Minor magic is allowable. But they will gain certain items that will give them powers later on so... Skeleton The Legendary NPCs Edited by toxias, October 12, 2010, 10:37 pm.

Username: Toxias Name: Seryta Alenne (Most people call her “C” or “Ryta”) Nickname: Summer Gale Age: 24 Gender: Female Race: Human Orientation: Heteosexual Job: Former Mercenary, current bounty hunter. Still, pay her enough and she’ll do any combat job you would possibly imagine. Personality: Seryta is a fairly simple girl to get along with, hence the “Summer” part of her nickname. She’s friendly to the point of charismatic, and she loves to have fun. She’s pretty light hearted and sometimes a bit crazy. She loves to help people, but she’s also extremely proud and often arrogant. Opinionated, Seryta isn’t usual afraid to speak her mind, but that isn’t to say she doesn’t have a sense of when she should keep her mouth shut; she usually only does so for the sake of others. She dislikes working in teams since it means she’s relying on other people, but if she thinks that they are worthy of her, she has no problem working with others. She doesn’t mind being in charge, but neither does she like it. So long as she gets the credit and the job is done well, she doesn’t care. She comes off as selfish on in a while without completely realizing it. She’s usually tolerant and teasing too, but at times she can snap into raging furies that leave carnage in her wake. Despite this, she’s sharply intelligent and she knows it. At her worse, Seryta can be sharply sarcastic and demandingly fierce. In a battle she’ll leave all other things behind and throw her whole self into the fight. She is, after all, practically made of battle itself. Bio: All Seryta can possibly remember is the fight. Daughter of a renowned general and a cruel gladiator, Seryta’s entire life centered around fighting. With her two older brothers, might made right. She often lost to them and broke several bones over their fierce and petty spats. But no matter how much Seryta got beat up, she always stood back up and plotted revenge. It was the way of the Alennes. A huge family, the Alennes were known for their fighting prowess as well as their…let’s say fruitfulness, shall we? Seryta had dozens upon dozens of cousins, all of them involved in the business of fighting in one way or another. Anyone in the Alenne family who didn’t fight was outcasted. This led to a harsh and nearly unforgiving family environment. But Seryta never felt unloved. Never. Just as she knew her brothers and parents would fiercely defend her, she loved them unconditionally, black eye or not. It was with her family that Seryta learned the family trade. Like all kids growing in the Alenne family, Seryta dabbled in nearly every single fighting art there was. You name a weapon (or no weapon, for that matter), regardless of how obscure or strange, and the Alennes probably had used it before. Seryta was no different. At a young age she was pitted in the traditional gladiator battles where the blood thirsty crowds called her name. It was in the hot, messy rings that Seryta began to make a name for herself. She picked out a fighting epithet for herself, and the whispers of the Summer Gale began to spread through the grapevine. Eventually Seryta topped even the best in her class and she stepped out of her father’s shoes into her mother’s, taking a relatively high-ranked position in the army. Unfortunately, despite Seryta’s joy in being able to fight all she wanted, she felt chained down and trapped by rules and regulations. Still a hot-blooded youth at this time, Seryta beat several prominent generals down over some ridiculous argument and nearly killed them. Only the Alenne family honor held her back. Knowing the punishment would be severe, Seryta proudly admitted to her malicious deeds and left the army. She liked flying free, and so she would. By now, Seryta was filled with the pride that ran through the veins of every Alenne that ever lived. She refused to join the mercenary groups. Instead, she made her name once more through hard work and grit. Countless fighters fell before her blade and soon the Summer Gale had become the most famous mercenary in the world. She was clamored for all throughout the world. Hundreds came to challenge her and not a single one stepped away victorious. It was said that if one smelled the scent of roses upon the wind in a battlefield, the Summer Gale was about to strike. Even the sight of the girl could turn the tide of a battle. There’s a saying that goes “If you have haters, you’re doing something right.” This was certainly Seryta’s case. Though no one dared challenge her in one to one combat, there were those whose pride had been injured as they were toppled from their thrones. No one knows who plotted her demise, save perhaps Seryta, who killed off anyone even rumored to have plotted against her. It was an overcast day, threatening snow. It was the kind of day that Seryta loved the most, next to the sunny winter days. The two armies were already engaged in battle. After a short briefing, Seryta plunged into the battle, carving a huge scythe into the ranks of the opposing army. They were on the verge of breaking the enemy lines when Seryta’s side unexpectedly drew back. The Summer Gale would have been extinguished that day, despite the fact she fought with crimson fury that should have gone down into the legends. The enemy, paid by her unnamed rival, captured Seryta and imprisoned her for years upon years. By the time Seryta managed to escape in an ugly, crimson haze her name had faded into legends. No matter what she said, no one would believe she was the Summer Gale. Even if she killed hundreds, they all simply called her a mass murderer and chased her down. Raging and ranting, Seryta went to her family. Although they were sympathetic and absolutely overjoyed to know Seryta was alive, they strongly believed that she needed to make her own name once again. However, Seryta did not leave without suggestions. She wiggled her way into the world of bounty hunting, continuing to go by her old alias. However, it was a frustrating experience for Seryta. She felt as if the entire world was disrespecting her. So when she received the letter from Somnium, she pounced at the chance to revive her former glory and stoke it back into the raging fire it had once been. Weapons: Seryta carries two swords with her, as well as a hunting dagger strapped to her leg for emergencies. This dagger is tipped with a paralyzing poison. She also carries her own unique weapon: Two aerodynamic daggers linked together by a long length of chain. Mythical Power(s): None Physical Power(s): Seryta can use literally anything as a weapon. She also has a working knowledge of most weapons. However, she is most known for her sword work and her explosive skill with a little known weapon. Motivation: Glory. Seryta wants her former fame back, and she’s willing t go to great lengths to do so. Others: “Summer” refers to her deceivingly friendly personality and “Gale” alludes to her powerful yet quick fighting style. She’s not the fastest person out there, but she is stronger than she looks and has an eye for how people might move, so she can protect herself from quicker opponents. Still, she’s got enough speed to impress most of the general populace. Appearance: The Summer Gale

Oh good, I was worried for half a second my profile didn't get saved/transferred. Funny how this RP keeps beginning on one site and ending on another. |
| You don't only belong to yourself, you know. I doubt there is a single person in this world that belongs only to himself. When someone makes a connection there is always something shared. And so people will never be completely free. It's that which brings out fun, and sadness and love. | |

I'll be putting Othello 2.0 up shortly. Gotta make some changes to his original sheet... ^^;; EDIT: Here he is! Username: Bad Wolf Name: Othello Nickname: "Hey you!" Age: 20 Gender: Male Race: Human, but some people like to joke that he has a bit of devil in him. Orientation: Bisexual. Job: Professional Storyteller, Expert of Local and Exotic Lore, and Performer Extraordinaire Personality: Playful, lively, and jovial are all terms that have been used to describe Othello. In the public eye, he is a charismatic, fun-loving bard who enjoys hearing the thunderous applause of his audience. He frequents taverns, though more for purposes of entertaining others than getting buzzed on liquor. Talking is what he does best, and he will rant about any subject the listener desires, for his knowledge extends to many fields. Some people would label him an attention-seeking idiot, though. His apparent inability to keep his opinion about rather touchy political subjects to himself has gotten him some wonderful approval from audiences, but has precipitated some actions from the local law enforcement that he certainly doesn't want. Or does he? Hard to tell with someone like him. He speaks so much that it's difficult to discern what is the truth and what is fiction. Part of his entertainment style when he is around crowds is to act like a bit of a flirt toward both the women and the men (assuming he picks out the men who wouldn’t be up-at-arms over such a thing) of his audience. It seems like he does it simply for the humor, but like with many other things about him, it is very difficult to tell if he really means it or not. He’s as difficult to read as a child’s first attempts at writing. But when he is flirting, performing, or simply playing around, he tends to drop a few phrases which, in the world of the player, are clearly French. It’s not a frequent occurrence, but it does happen. When the crowds have gone and Othello is alone or not being paid attention to, he is far moodier. There is the occasional smile on his face, but he's mostly in a pensive state that is difficult to break him out of. It makes you wonder which face is his true one: the jovial bard or the brooding young man? Bio: Othello will tell many tales of his past, though the trick is trying to figure out which one is true. One story depicts him as the only child of well-off parents. He was raised with all of the comforts that a child could wish for, learning fascinating subjects from many private tutors and hearing the most wonderful gossip and stories from his parents. In that version, he left home with their blessing to become an entertainer, and he visits them from time to time to share funny stories of his exploits. Another version depicts him as an orphan that discovered he had a knack for telling stories and making people laugh. He taught himself how to play a flute, and he has been earning a living as a storyteller and performer ever since. The desperate origins would explain his pick-pocketing abilities... Yet another version of the story tells of him as a young boy working as a servant in a nobleman's manor. He used to tell the most amusing (false) stories to the other servants as a form of entertainment, and they encouraged him to do the same for his master. One thing led to another, and he found himself a free young man, traveling the countryside to tell his tales and play his instrument. If one of the stories is true or none of them remains to be seen. Only Othello knows the truth of his past, and it would ruin the fun to tell the real tale, would it not? Regardless of his past, it is very true that his name has been heard in the far reaches of the world, and many monarchs would love to have him perform in their court. He is often accosted by messengers from the Prince of Somewhere and the King of Somewhere-Else and the Emperor of Yet-Another-Somewhere, but he turns them down rather quickly with a simple, "I will make it there eventually, but I have many more places to see first. Good day to you! Au revoir!" That has gotten some forceful reactions from the monarchs, and the result of that has caused rumors of his fighting talents to spread throughout the land as well. Though the fame makes earning a living very easy, it can still be quite the bother sometimes... Weapons: A long dagger, and a flute. (Believe me when I saw that the flute is a weapon.) Mythical Power(s): His voice is oddly hypnotic in the sense that it makes others very prone to the powers of suggestion. Maybe people are just more gullible around him, but when he says that there's something big and scary behind you, you look. Might end up getting a blade in your belly because of it, but you look. If he's singing or playing his flute, good luck trying to not listen to him. He is certainly hypnotic. Physical Power(s): He's not too shabby with a dagger, and he's certainly wonderful with his flute. The instrument seems to come alive when he plays it. It's an amazing thing. His voice is also pleasing to listen to. He also has mastered the art of sleight-of-hand, and will use it as another form of entertaining crowds. Motivation: For the stories, good sir! Others: n/a Appearance: Othello’s Face Close-Up Othello Edited by That Butler, July 5, 2010, 7:20 pm.

Username: Takeru123 Name: Talaka Nekozowa Nickname: Childhood nickname: Tala...Legendary Nickname: Hand of Death... Age: 5015 Gender: Male Race: Human Orientation: Homosexual Job: He does odd jobs that he can secure, since he is now the most wanted man in the world and can't find work without being attacked or being ratted out to local authorities... Personality: Tala is a very docile boy when he is left alone, he loves animals and is scene as very gentle...But when he is with people, his personality changes and he dons a manipulative, and emotionless evil like persona as a split personality... Bio: For some unknown reason, the gods frowned upon Talaka from the moment he was born, and inflicted a curse upon him, though some might consider it a blessing...Talaka found himself with a natural instinct for the fight. But no gift comes without a price...Talaka also found an unquenchable thrist to kill kill kill...Even when he did not wish to, he did...Many found him to be a monster, making his life terribly miserable...Even the slightet brush of skin to skin could set off this curse, and whoever Talaka had come into contact with would find himself dead in a matter of seconds...Unable to do anything else, the village banished Talaka...Angry and bitter, Talaka vanished into the darker world to become one of the world's most feared assassins... Weapons: Tala's primary weapon is a poisoned set of bandage wrap that he uses to poison people when it touches an open wound when he pretends to act like a medic in order to kill... Mythical Power(s): Eternal Life... Physical Power(s): Tala is very fast and agile, his agility over all makes it good for him to escape damaged from slow attacks... Motivation: Tala's motivation is purely and simply to kill and to find a way to end his seemingly eternal life... Others: Tala was once considered the most powerful Assassin of his time, before he went into hiding... Appearance: The bottom half of Tala's face as well as his chest and arms is covered by bandages made from a steel like fabric and acts as an armor...His hair is long and pink, and his eyes are electric blue...He retains his youthful appearance despite his age...He wears black pants that accent the color of his hair and a old sash faded green with holes in it is wrapped around his waist that was given to him back in his childhood... Hopefully the final revision...Thanks Toxias for the Bio that i use...It fits me well and gives my character a power that I accept as a reason for his actions... Lol, raven, I'm glad I actually didn't procrastinate saving everything in the rps. XD We moved pretty fast this time. But hey, we'll get this going sooner or later ;) Badwolf: Othello 2.0...approved! Takeru: Yay yay! Welcome to the rp and to EL! ^_^ I would love love love to have a character considered on the "bad" side. >.< Unfortunantly, your character has a pretty huge and offensive mythical power, and you'll have to edit that. And I see his life is kind of based around his power, so I'm really sorry. Miena! |

Huzzah! I did not have Connor saved anywhere. Takeru, the whole point of the characters is a minimum of magical ability. I recall Tox having a suggested "character archtype" list on the other board. It was just a list of one- or two-word descriptions, like "bounty hunter," or "archer," or "mercenary," or, in my case, "martial artist." I'd recommend trying for something along those lines. If you look at the other characters, mine has no magic, Toxias has no magic, Ravenrose's character talks to dirt and trees, and Bad Wolf has the supernatural ability to make people fall for the "hey, look over there" trick. You are trying to pass off a five-thousand year old soul eater. Edited by Third Time, July 6, 2010, 2:56 am.

Yay! Third Time, you made it! ![]() I'm glad I made an effort to save those profile then ;) @Takeru: I can find the list of the character types I was looking for, if you would like. Oh and >.< I'd hate to find another thing you have to edit, but "He is the most powerful fighter of all time" is a general term. What was he? Gladiator? Soldier? Bodyguard? I'd like him to be classified, because the idea is for the cast of characters to be made entirely of extremely powerful physical fighters. Again, I can find that list for you if you need it! |

Username: Chuva Name: Senki Atashi Nickname: None, sorry. >__< Age: 19 Gender: Female Race: Human Orientation: Strait Job: n/a Personality: Tender.Gentle.Soft.Strong. Senki is the type of lady that is into all the of little things in life. Breathing, life, and other things. She finds peace in those things. She's often shy, and keeps to herself. Senki is very empathetical, and hates seeing pain, especially in children. She is the kind of person that wants to spread an inner peace and joy into the person, just how she has it. However, Senki also has self-esteem problems...she often looks down on herself, and she has a terrible problem of Comparing herself to others. And when she does, she gets down, because everyone was made to be different. Senki's personality is often based off of others, as she tries to be like them...so she can feel "accepted" and what not. Bio: As a child, she grew up on a small island village, learning the practices of her people; honor, respect, hard work and love. The boys in her village would practice their form of martial art, while the women would practice a type of natural healing, acupuncture, plant medicine, etc. While the village people were a people of peace, they used the men used their martial art as a way of life; not just as fighting. Senki, was always influenced by wise people, for her family was always busy with work, and her grandparents were the ones who took care of her. She wanted to learn how to fight. She'd learned the human body; the chakra points, how to open up chi flows, acupuncture. Which flowers were poison, which weren't. She wanted to take these skills, and hone them to the offensive. Doing this would be going against the system, but it was inspired from her Grandfather's words, "You know how to fight so you don't have to fight." She was a lady of peace, and that was all. Taking this advice, she begged her grandfather. It was always the same simple answer: "No, customs are customs," Until one day, she showed her wit a speed. A boy was stuck in a tree, and well, he couldn't get down, because he was holding the cat that had gotten stuck in the tree. The "men" of the village were too busy to notice, and he was a wimp if he couldn't get down himself. Senki, feeling sorry for him, decided to do something. Though scared and uncomfortable, she did what she thought to do. She went around the village, taking the middle piece of wire and eventually forming a long thing strang of it; enough to get the boy and the cat down. Taking a handful of acupuncture needles, she "nailed" them into the tree. Holding the end of the wire rope, she got her running distance, and said, "I'm going to try to save you," And starting running. Her run blended into a jump, and as she stepped on the first needle, she had to go the next, as the needles would collapse after being stepped on. She was at the top, and the rather fat boy was sighing with relief. Taking the wired rope she constructed, she found a thick enough branch to tie it around, and grabbed the boy with one of her hands. The boy was rather small (only a 5 year old at most) and it's cat was tabby. "Hang on to me," She said, as she grabbed tight to the rope, and slowly eased themselves down. In the end, the family was rather happy, and her grandfather saw what she could do. She would be trained. (In secret, of coarse.) Weapons: Needles. She carries aroud many antidotes with her~ :o Mythical Power(s): None...yet. Physical Power(s): Senki has amazing speed. She's hard to spot at times. Her aim is almost dead on, and she has a very keen mind. She uses a martial art form that her grandfather taught her, where the main focus of the technique is to take the opponents energy and use it against them. She knows of all the human pressure points, and how to use them against the opponent. Motivation: Once the village found out she was practicing martial arts and the like, creating her own style, she was very much left to be alone. Kicked out. Upon receiving the letter, she put it as an exuse to escape. Others: Appearance: Linku |
