What you need to know Lumiva Lumiva is a world of plentiful wonder covered completely with water. In some places it is shallow, in other places so deep that the lost wonders that have been consumed by their depths will never be found. But perhaps its most intriguing characteristic is the gravity. Lumiva’s gravity defines the entire planet. For it is this gravity that separates the Endless Ocean into fresh and salt water. It is also the gravity that forms the thick and very dense cloud cover in the middle of the planet. This cloud cover spans the entire planet except for a single place, and creates two separate worlds. One of these worlds, under the cloud cover, is constantly in dim light, used to raging storms and little sunlight. The other world is a world above the cloud cover, always under the blazing sun or the dual moons Lumiva has attracted. It is the gravity that allows a single huge continent to float right above the cloud cover, as well as countless other little islands of lands. This single huge continent is called the Salaran plate. Two other major islands groups are Myan, underneath the cloud cover to the southwest of the Salaran plate and Lonta, above the cloud cover to the north east of the Salaran plate. Strikers The Strikers are Lumiva’s first inhabitants, human originally. They struggled to live in Lumiva’s unique conditions, and slowly evolved into a slightly different variation of humans. They have very keen eyesight, are usually agile, and have lighter bones than most. However, it is not these adaptations that allow them to survive, but their mounts. The bond between a striker and his mount is very precious. Although the striker’s mount cannot speak, the flow of emotions between a striker and his mount is very free, and each has an internal instinct to know where exactly the other is. The strikers have a long history of war with each other, but never before has this war of prejudices reached such a terrible peak. Dawn Strikers The Dawn Strikers are very much daylight people. They live above Numanria’s cloud cover, so they get many hours of daylight. Their skin is usually tan, but it varies. Their mounts are birds of prey, usually hawks or eagles, but not owls. These mounts usually rely on strength in a fight. Dawn Strikers live on Lonta and surrounding islands. Dusk Strikers Dusk Strikers are night people, though they are not nocturnal. They live below Numanria’s cloud cover, so they are well equipped to deal with the random and sporadic bursts of storms. Their skin is very pale and their eyes strange colors, but sunlight will not harm them. Their mounts are usually bats, and some owls, but those are rare. These mounts are very agile due to the hostile environment. Dusk Strikers live on Myan and surrounding islands. Sky Lords The Sky Lords come from a different planet than the Strikers. That world was crumbling to pieces, and in order to save themselves, or at least some of them, a group of powerful mages teleported a group of Sky Lords, highly skilled in their various arts. This group appeared safely on the Salaran Plate. Thrashing out a living there, the Sky Lords eventually spread and became more powerful, developing their deadly airships. These airships varied in all shapes and sizes, in weight and height, but most of them, if maneuvered correctly, can float on top of Lumiva’s dense cloud cover. The Sky Lords are at war with the Strikers, because slowly their population has expanded and they need more space. The Strikers saw these new intruders as threats, and so the war began Lightning Guard The Lightning Guard is the main defense system for the Sky Lords. Their skill with airships is nigh unbeatable, and their airships fitted with deadly weapons. The Lightning Guard, however, also serves as transport for goods and people. The only other way to get around is if you have your own private airship. In addition to these responsibilities, the Lightning Guard flies directly into Lumiva’s cloud cover to collect lightning. This is where they derive their name from. Lightning is the main energy source of the Sky Lords, and though it is collected by specialized companies, the Lightning Guard collects it and sells it to help cover its expenses. Wind Raiders Wind Raiders are pirates of the air, and one of the main opponents of the Lightning Guard. Some of them are just up-to-no-goods but others are fighting against what they consider a tyranny. Their airships may be coarse, and their flying abilities not as refined, but the Wind Raiders are very very tricky. They pillage everywhere, mainly Sky Lord towns, but also Striker settlements when they can. Wind Raiders also prey on other airships, stealing whatever may be on them, lightning, goods, or glass coins, the currency of Lumiva. However, Wind Raiders may fight with the Lightning Guard to help fend against Striker attack. Then, if their ships can still take it and there aren’t too many ships in the guard, they turn right back around and attack the Lighting guard. The Conflict Lumiva is essentially immersed in three conflicts, all intertwined so they become one great big war. The Lightning Guard is fighting against the Wind Raiders, and the Dawn Strikers are fighting against the Dusk Strikers because they think the other side is "evil" and "cruel hearted". However, the Sky Lords are also fighting the Strikers because the Sky Lords need to expand, and the Strikers are defending their territory. However, as time has passed, these reasons have taken a backseat to simple prejudice and a desire to fight. Edited by toxias, December 3, 2009, 7:09 pm.

Tell me something about yourself Fill this out please. If you are playing a striker delete the “Ship/Vessel served on” section and if you are Sky Lord delete the three last catagories on the end refering to the mounts. For the “position” section, refer to the list in current cast. You do not have to fill these specific positions out, but I would love you if you did ;) If you fill out Commodore or Captain, please add these two categories after “Appearance”.

Other General Information -Sky Lord's technology mainly applies to their air ships, and less to personal weapons. -Almost all Sky Lords have some sort of mythic blood line such as being 1/5 fae and 1/5 shape shifter or something like that. -Both Strikers and Sky Lords have magical abilities -Yes, there can be Strikers fighting on the side of the Sky Lords and vice versa as well as Dawn Strikers fighting on the side of the Dusk Strikers and Dusk Strikers fighting on the side of Dawn strikers. The only one I probably won't allow is Wind Raiders with Lightning Guard...it's a little self defeating isn't it? -That's not to say that alliances between the groups can't be made though. -There is generally very little rain above the cloud cover. Most of the bad weather is underneath it. -ALL strikers have mounts, and all of them fly. Some, of course, love flying more than others. And all of these strikers have a bond with each other, but some are stronger than others. It depends. And ask me about anything else you need clarification on. Meh, sorry about all the reading. It's a roleplay from Gaia I did, and I tended to be very extensive...Anyways, comments? Or better yet, joining? Edited by toxias, December 11, 2009, 7:20 pm.

I'll take a look at that soon. Busy weekend for me...I'll be putting the IC up soon. Username: Toxias Name: Yonaki Azuthan (Yo-nah-key Ah-zooth-ahn) Nickname: Yonaki Age: 24 Gender: Male Race: Sky Lord, assumed to be PureBlooded, but no one is sure, especially because of his mythic powers and the powers of his sisters. Orientation: Heterosexual Allegiance: Lightning Guard Ship/Vessel Served on: Unemployed Job: Fighter/Tracker Personality: People often describe Yonaki as the perfect fighter, the example Lightning Guard. He’s quiet, and listens to orders well, patient with those who try to provoke him, kind to the citizens he protects. Yonaki prefers to be alone, though that doesn’t usually happen. He’s generally a somewhat distant person, though not harsh. He can joke, usually in his softer style, with the people on the crew he is in. Yonaki drinks little, and always tries to be the one who remains sober. He may find it amusing when his crewmates get drunk and have to be saved from staggering over board. Yonaki defends his honor and the honor of his friends well, and will easily take up a challenge, but he’s reasonable. Sometimes Yonaki is struck with a little sorrow, though it rarely shows but it his eyes. However, when it comes to Strikers, Yonaki makes a 180 degree change. He wants to see their blood spilling into the sky to stain the waters and the clouds, vengeance for his past. When this is refused, he can become cold and frosty, and quite frustrating to be around for a while. Bio: Yonaki was born with a twin sister, she being the older. They were born into a good family, middle class. Yonaki’s father was a blacksmith and his mother a minor seamstress. Yonaki spent hours upon hours sparring with his sister, using crude practice blades that his father made during his spare time. Yonaki’s older sister was superb at crossing blades, but Yonaki expanded his experience of weapons, learning from his father and the other blacksmiths. When Yonaki was 8, his little sister was born, and both he and his older sister doted heavily on her. They loved her dearly. Both Yonaki and his sister were admitted into the Academy at age 14 to train as lightning guards, as most children did. They were top students there, already knowing how to use weapons. The other students found them generally very kind, they offered to tutor whenever they had time on their hands. The Academy strengthened the already strong bond between Yonaki and his older sister. As was tradition, at the age of 16, Yonaki and his sister were placed onto trade ships to strengthen the basic skills of flying. It was then that they learned to act separately from each other. Both of them were then transferred to Lightning Guard scout ships and soon advanced up the ranks of the Lightning Guard until they reached larger more battle ready ships. By this time, they were 18. Once in a while, they might end up on the same ship, and they happily were reminded of the older days. Yonaki was 19, serving on a separate ship than his older sister, but working on a similar mission. Suddenly a group of Strikers, both Dawn and Dusk, working in unison for once, descended on his sister’s ship. Their mount’s claws and talons tore at the wings and gas cells of the airship, sending it spiraling downwards towards the lightning laced clouds. Yonaki’s last glimpse was of a flaming airship and a desperate cry somehow reached his ears. He hasn’t forgotten that cry for all of his life. It was one word, in a beautiful voice he’s never forget, but it was laced with such anguish and panic, Yonaki couldn’t really be sure. It was his sister, crying out his name. It tore Yonaki’s heart that he could not save her. The ship that Yonaki served on was by then ready for the Strikers and drove them off. When they docked with a limping ship, Yonaki quit the lightning guard for a while. The memories never left him, and for one whole year he stayed with his parents, grieving together and watching his little sister, 11 at the time, adore him. Yonaki made a fierce promise that he would not ever let her enter the Lightning Guards. His parents did not say anything, but didn’t resist as Yonaki left to reenter the Lightning Guard at the age of 20. He’s served the Guard for 4 consecutive years now, and 7 altogether. Weapons: A simple sword by the name of Lathia, shown in the picture. It complements Yonaki’s power of energy manipulation. A small pouch, filled with some small glass orbs that have varied effects, hangs from the back of his waist. A hunting dagger is strapped to his leg. Mythic Power(s): Energy Manipulation. It is used better with touch, but Yonaki can use it at a distance as well. Yonaki can also manipulate lightning to a degree. Physical Power(s): Yonaki is fairly skilled in all weapons, though he prefers Lathia. His sense of smell, hearing, and eyesight surpasses most others, making him an exceptional tracker. Other: Yonaki wears a pendant, a gift from his little sister. It has magical properties, but Yonaki’s not quite sure what it does. Username: Toxias Name: Nenya Amarille (nehn-yah ah-mah-reel) Nickname: Nenya Age: 24 Gender: Female Race: Assumed to be pureblooded Orientation: Heterosexual Allegiance: Dusk Striker Job: Fighting Unit Captain Personality: Nenya is a very strict captain, she tolerates little error, and she herself is a perfectionist. Most of the times, Nenya is immensely happy and she’s got plenty of calm energy that she can channel any which way. Little children love Nenya, but the adults all are a little wary of her, even though she’s proved herself over and over. Sometimes Nenya gets frustrated with the fleeting memories in her head. She feels like she’s missing something, but she’s not quite sure what. Otherwise, Nenya is the perfect fighter, if a little too enthusiastic at times. Bio: Nenya remembers nothing of her past but little bits and pieces from her dreams or visions in broad daylight. From what she’s seen and what others have told her, she fell from the sky and landed, miraculously, on a small island, just big enough to support her frame. She lay there, unconscious, bleeding for hours until a Dusk Striker found her. Planning to take her back as a hostage, she looked like a lightning guard, the Dusk Strikers awoke Nenya after a day, then found she remembered nothing. She knew as much as a newborn child. The injuries she had sustained even before she landed on the land had damaged her brain. So a Dusk Striker family took Nenya in, and she was given her name and a mount. Not knowing she was not originally born in Myan, Nenya served as loyally as she could, quickly gaining the fundamental skills back within weeks. She remembered her fighting skills, and though a sword felt more comfortable, she soon discovered, or rediscovered, she’ll never know, her magic talents. So Nenya swapped to a magic staff, she had spent quite a while longing for it, and blew her savings on the staff. It was very well crafted, and channeled Nenya’s gift well. She learned how to use it, both physically and magically. In the few years of life Nenya had on Myan, she quickly climbed the ladder of success. Though most were reluctant to promote her, she proved herself too useful in these times of war to ignore for long. Nenya still gets glimpses of her past, which is the source of all her frustration. She loves her way of life now, but can’t help but want to figure out her life from before. Weapons: A magic staff, made out of magic metals and strengthened with enchantments Mythic Power(s): Spirit summoning, telekinesis Physical Power(s): Nenya is quick and fast, very agile. Strength is not a strong point for her, but she has enough that she can wield her staff easily. Username: Toxias Name: Danika Azuthan (Dan-e-kah ah-zooth-ahn) Nickname: Aero, Zephyr Age: 16 Gender: Female Race: Sky Lord, assumed to be pure blooded but no one is sure because of her powers and the powers of her siblings Orientation: Heterosexual Allegiance: Wind Raider Ship/Vessel served on: Zephyr Job: Captain Personality: Danika is a very energetic happy-go-lucky kind of person that makes her job as a captain of the wind raiders very suiting. She almost never despairs, and almost never gets angry. However, her crew takes her very seriously because she is an important captain. Danika is very kind and generous, still not quite used to the concept of killing yet. She almost never wounds fatally. Danika can be a little naive in the things of war. Bio: Danika was born into a good middle class family with her older siblings, Yonaki and Nauda. With a blacksmith as a father and a minor seamstress as a mother, Danika grew up in the shadow of her powerful siblings, but never minded. She often watched, her eyes shining with awe as the twins sparred, basked in the red glow of the forge. Yes, Danika admired her older siblings greatly and they loved her to the point where she was pretty much spoiled. When they went off to the Academy, Danika was sad. Their visits home were always remembered as bright and happy. Danika spent more time with her father, learning the arts of how to forge great weapons and powerful armor. It was then that Danika began to experiment with her power, messing up a good number of her father’s blades. He was a patient man though, and rarely got angry. Danika spent a whole lot of time at home. Yonaki and Nauda’s visits became less frequent, although she knew that they still loved her. A little saddened and itching to get and follow her sibling’s footsteps, Danika urged her father to teach her how to fight. He had very little time and Danika had no other sparring partner. Still, Danika learned enough. Then one day, Yonaki came home for good. Danika was overjoyed when he figure came walking down the street, but the joy was short lived. He was broken, saddened, and not the older brother that Danika ever remembered. She learned that Nauda had died under the hands of the Strikers. Danika, eleven at the time, understood Yonaki’s sadness and grieved with him, but she didn’t quite understand the war that was raging around her safe haven on the Salaran plate. Still, she was happy to have Yonaki back. But he never would spar with her, and she became worried and sad. Whenever Nauda had been away doing something else, Yonaki always taught Danika how to fight. Now, he just sat around and helped his father, completely at loss. But he began to show restlessness and left to rejoin the Lightning Guard after a year of brooding. On the day of parting, Danika gave him a pendant that she had bought at the market. It was magical, Danika told him, but she wasn’t sure how. Yonaki put the pendant on, hugged his father, his mother, and Danika, and left. Danika rarely saw him after then, and became more and more independent. She was outraged when her parents forbade her to join the Academy. Unbeknownst to Danika, this was because of Yonaki’s request and vow never to let his little sister encounter the terrible ugliness of war that he had become entrapped in, yet loved at the same time. Danika eventually settled down again, but living in a family where her role models had joined the Lightning Guard, she still craved a chance to soar the skies. Finally, it grew too much. Danika decided that if she couldn’t be a Lightning guard, she was going to be a Wind Raider. She had heard great tales about these air pirates, and had fallen in love with the grandeur of them, despite the fact she knew they were enemies of the Lightning Guard. So one day, she ambushed a Wind Raider while they were ambushing a town. She was put down, but the captain was impressed at her spirit, and so agreed to her request to join his crew. No one knew what kind of family Danika came from, but the Wind Raider didn’t care much. Danika first called herself Aero, refusing to give her last name. But as time progressed and she climbed the ladder of success, she became known as Zepyr because of her power and was eventually given a ship christened after her nickname because of her ability to command and inspire the crew. Weapons: Two sets of daggers, a pouch full of shurikans Mythic Power(s): Danika can change the density of things, she’s most proficient with air and wood. She can also teleport once in a while. Physical Power(s): Danika is very skilled in her power, having spent so much time at home. She’s also very light and agile. Her flexibility is so good, it’s almost scary. She also has some skill in smithing. Other: Very few people know Danika's name, and none know her last name. Most people just call her by her nicknames. Username: Dracoknight Name: Indrialis Gemknife Nickname: Dri, Indri, or Gem Age: 19 Gender: Female Race: Striker Orientation: Lesbian Allegiance: Dawn Striker Job: Assault Soldier Personality: Wild and carefree, she seems to throw her life away in battle, but the control that comes from her connection with her mount gives her a sense of calm that allows her to put her life in danger and feel good about it. She is kind and a happy person on the ground, and she offers help to anyone who requires it, particularly if it requires being in the air again. She is happiest when in the air, and loves the exhilaration that comes from take-off. Bio: As a child, Indri always wanted to be a soldier in the Dawn Striker army. She would always look forward to the take-offs of the grand battalions, the flights of great birds soaring into the air. Once, she ran outside just as a Sky Knight flew over, and a huge feather floated down and landed in her outstretched hands. She still carries the feather with her as a good-luck charm, and never leaves the ground without it, even with her own mount. When she was first admitted to the Dawn Strikers, her first test was a height test. She was brought to the edge of a huge cliff and told to climb down. She did one better and jumped off, her instructors crying out in alarm. It was then that they discovered the first of her mystical powers, as she hit the ground with no more force than a feather. When she completed her training she was presented with her mount, a great golden eagle.
