a bit more info would be nice, then we'd know what youre talking about and why youre talking about it. In accordance with Shariah law "riba", or accruing interest, is prohibited, which has created a dilemma for British Muslims in relation to car insurance. Under UK law motorists must have an insurance policy, but under Shariah law some aspects related to buying cover are prohibited. But a product by the UK's first independent Islamic insurance provider is aiming to tackle the issue. Insurer Salaam Halal's motor policy will see clients pay into a pool which then pays out on insurance claims. The pool will be invested in Shariah-compliant investments - and not in interest-bearing funds or firms linked to prohibited goods. If the "Takaful Fund" is over-funded, it will be distributed to policyholders as a discount on their premium, in addition to any normal no-claims bonus. Shariah-compliant insurance is based on the co-operative principle of Takaful, where risk and reward is shared, rather than transferred to the insurer. Salaam Halal has said its product allows Britain's Muslims to take out car insurance which complies with their faith. Chairman Abdulaziz Hamad Aljomaih said: "Salaam insurance is a significant step for the growth of Islamic finance in the UK." All Salaam activities and products will be overseen by Shariah scholars and the Financial Services Authority. The Association of British Insurers says Shariah compliant insurance shows how markets react to diversity. A spokeswoman for the ABI said: "This shows a vibrant market working to meet needs of diverse demand. "With every new product there is a company which leads the way, if that business model works out others will follow." this isnt special treatment of a different type of insurance. its just a different way of paying it. I take it that these companies have figured out that there are now so many insurance scams going on amongst their community that they can get into profit easily. Are they going to provide the bogus licences, witnesses, drivers, injury victims, body shops, and legal representation that goes hand in hand with any accident involving an islamic driver ? Even more accident management shops coming to your local high street methinks. |

You would have thought their insurance would cost more because when you drive through their communities they just pull out on you like you're not even there. Mothers had 3 crashes in her life none of them have been her fault and all three were muslims. |

While they may have a religion, that religion isnt law.Sharia law is the law they are in question on about.Which may be in some countries but not in the U.K. so while we dont threten thier right to have a religion,we shoud be upholding the laws of this country which mean so should they. if they want Sharia law they should live in Sharia law country and then they wouldnt have to fiddle thier way out of any given situation by having a back up plan. A back up plan that dose nt comply with the laws of this land! |

Drip drip drip drip drip drip drip, slowly and surely it is happening, firstly our communities, families driven from there homes, now car insurance. What next, there own police force, there own parliment, counties etc etc, hell, why not let them take a piece of England and turn it into a new country of there own. |
