Are the Churches in Luton beginning to get it?; ...slight glimmerings of brain activity.

The Christian Churches in Luton have released a statement that mostly consists of the usual interfaith kumbaya, but one sentence stuck out as heretical "A statement released by Churches Together in Luton said that the churches understood why the EDL “are angry at the perceived lack of action against Islamic extremism”

Wow!

No that is a BIG step to say they understand where we are coming from.
I can see subtle turnings in the tide with references to the EDL.
They don't like it up 'em.
Don't tell them your name Pike.

Actually ... it probably iS big of them!

CoE ideology is that the way foreward is for inclusion in a "shared collective" recognising the similarities of other faiths. Media representation of both Muslims and EDL is extreemly biased (and that is what most people see)
For them to recognise someone elses "anger" , especially a non-religious organisation is a step chainge for them.

I'd gather it's a bit more support. Joe Public will start to see through the lies that are thrown at them about us.

Emphasis on probably!

In their church statement, emphasis on, perceived.

I think it has some 'wow' factor. Unfortunately we have to be grateful for small mercies.

"Perceived" is the ass-covering word, but it will still piss the Islamists of Luton off. Pity hardly anyone will have seen it unless it was in the local papers.

That's a pretty big deal, living in Luton to put something like that out there is a lot bigger than it might look on the page. Perception is as good as reality so the perceived thing doesn't matter too much, at the very worst they're saying the action against Islamic extremism isn't enough for people to pick up on which is a pretty big criticism in itself.

I'm sure behind closed doors they're a lot braver with the words but obviously they've got to be ultra-careful in the public eye especially in that particular town.

Yes, I do get what "perceived" means in this instance only too well, thanks.

Wasn't a dig at you, sorry if it came across that way, wasn't talking about your point at all just making my own.

Wait till they get to their next Interfaith Outreach meeting, they'll get it in the neck from the muzlims for that inclusion about the EDL. I can see it now, a mass lobbying from their local muzzrats demanding an apology and an detraction or else their toast lol.

quite ironic that!, bit like, there would be no need for the edl,or mdl,if moderate muslims had a word with the radicals.

Plenty of support at the pew face, believe me, and exasperation at our bishops on this and other matters.

There has been a growing shift in politics and alignments in the past few months. Look at last night, Tommy on TV as a guest... He was interviewed by Sky and not shot to peaces.

The CofE is just starting to stick its head above the parapet. Now they know they have "common" support we are going to see them speaking out. This is just there first tentative step.

There may now be a few dissident voices who are daring to speak out, but I'm sure most of the CofE establishment are still toeing the party line laid down by by The Archdhimmi of Shariah. Muslims are always victims, and the English working class are always drunken, shaven-headed, booted knuckledragging thugs.

The Methodist Church is even more dhimmified and anti-British.

People ought to support churches in these Islamic hotspots.

Every Sunday the EDL should help pack them the rafters.

Just a thought.
