The Borg; Muslims are like the Borg

It's just occurred to me that Muslims are very much like the Borg from Star Trek. To every civilisation they come across they say:

"We are Muslims. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile." ;)

I thought a trekkie might pop up eventually. ;)

I would liken them to the clones in Star Wars. :D
Just copying whatever the others do.

Haha the 'Sci Fi Division' is making itself known ;)

I'd liken Islam to a cancer. Rapidly spreading, hard to destroy and if left alone usually fcuking fatal resulting in misery and sadness for those who come into contact with it.

Actually when we did hypothetical politics in college the main focus was star trek.

Gene Roddenberry the creator of star trek was avid communist, Star fleet and humanity itself have turned their back on globalism and the need for items, they pursue activites to improve themselves much like buddism and the sort so music is a very accurate example, There is also no currency on the main worlds because everyone had everything they ever needed and were responisble to take what they needed, A untopia that is unachievable really.

Obviously Deep Space 9 currency is there but thats for the other less developed humanoids which in itself racist but shhh commies can't be racist.

The Borg were created and the obvious inspiration was fascism, Everyone marching to the same tune, thinking the same, doing the same.

Im not a trekkie but its not bad once in awhile, Though i must say it is a very deep mytholigy.

Both are extreme politics.

Every peoples in star trek are actually inspired from human thought and politics. Klingon the warrior nationalist always looking for war a Neocon as they would call it, Vulkan buddism and well we can all guess what the farengee are supposed to be.

I wonder if the Klingon would mind huge immigration on there home world by Farengee?

Have a look at the Muslim world, there is no tradition of Science Fiction of any note.

I was thinking of making a thread similar to this a little while back but figured no one would no what I was on about.

:D

"No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."
