British Muslims and the UK government's ‘war on terror’ within: evidence of a clash of civilizations or emergent de-civilizing processes?
A Submission to the Home Affairs Committee’s Inquiry into Terrorism and Social Cohesion This link is direct to PDF - free!
Militant Islam: A Sociology of Characteristics, Causes and Consequences

Just a few hits from Google Scholar.

It's a great way to find what influences the policy makers of your country.

I warn you - it's quite maddening reading the "intellectuals" refer to British citizens as sheep needing to be lead. The fact that you're angry about something they see as a failure of their system, they're now trying to correct their system so you'll go back to being docile.

The arrogance of these people is astounding, it however explains why the university kids are the ones who oppose EDL the most, they're the closest to the "Intellectual" data-feed.

but wait! There's more!
Apparently the EDL is now subject to their schemes.

"Only street resistance can effectively challenge groups such as the English Defence League, writes David Renton."

One key aspect of responding to terrorism is that terrorism is not going to go away. The truth is that terrorism is something we will all have to learn to live with Individual terrorist campaigns will almost certainly end, many groups being unable even to sustain a campaign long enough to gain brand recognition for their work. But while terrorist groups fizzle out, terrorism itself does not.

Not if we stop letting them in our bloody country! Privacy AND security weren't always mutually exclusive! It wasn't until the immigration started that we had to forsake privacy for security.

It's fcuking frustrating.

Learn to live with terrorism? fcuk you!

Single most frustrating document I have read possibly ever. All the usual 'Its not our fault gov', 'We haven't got enough money, give us more'.
Until they start to look at themselves and stop looking at everyone else for excuses they will never ever improve their image. They really are the most arrogant of people, if this is representative of their community.
They seem to think we are all moved by media reports, neglecting the fact that 99% of people living in an urban environment, will have first hand experience of the religion of peace in all its glory. If a group of them rape your teenage daughter, I don't think the Guardian telling everyone how great islam is will alter your opinion too much, quite frankly.
If that report said, 'yes we have probs in our community, and with the assistance of the authorities and other communities, we want to rat out the problem elements. As a community, we must try harder to meet the rest of the population half way' then I would have some sympathy, but that was a complete shower of sh1te.
