Labour supporting mass immigration is a mystery to me. They are/were supposed to support the workers of Britain. Were it the Conservative then the cheap workforce argument would hold water. Anyone care to educate me on this one

There were i believe two drivers of new labours secret policy to flood the country with immigrants:- (1) ideological as blair is recorded as saying (thanks to wikileak), he intended to 'rub the faces of the tories in diversity' (2) gerrymandering labours traditional core constituency had been shrinking for years (manual workers, unionised labour, etc) of immigrants who vote, surveys show that 85% vote labour hence, blair & his gang of traitors set out to create a new core group of labour supporters = immigrants |

It focuses financial clout. By reducing the spread of monies, and focusing money in the hands of the government, business and government save on money. It's cheaper to pay 10% of the population to sit at home and rely on government services than it is for businesses to compete amongst themselves in payout. Think Communism. |

I vote labour, I must admit I'm not the best when it comes to in-depth knowledge of political partys but after seeing this, I feel stupid! You can never put 100% trust in the way someone says they are going to run the country but labour is always the best option for the 'normal' working person, or is it? Obviously not! Life is hard enough in a work sense either keeping hold of a job or finding one then the party you vote to run the country let's in all kinds from anywhere to make it even harder, think I need to educate myself politically a lot more! |

Realistically, in a modern economy, immigration is unavoidable. Moreover, society has been enriched greatly by generations of British immigrants who have, sometimes in the face of adversity, seized their own identities and helped bring Britain forward into the 21st century. There are alternatives to the British way of life, and potential immigrants should be ready to prove that they are well aware of these, and that by entering into Britain they must respect that her subjects are afforded freedom of speech and conscience and that whilst they are indeed free to practice their own forms of religion, they must also understand that these forms of religions may at times be criticised. Immigrants have a right to personal safety, not a right not to be offended. England really isn't a difficult country to integrate into. Plentyl of Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jews and even a very good portion of Muslims have managed to enrich British society. It isn't immigrants or immigration that should be targetted, but rather the significant and growing minority of hard line Islamic literalists, who backed by the Saudi Arabian government, are ever increasingly threatening the freedom and wellbeing of everyone in the UK, immigrants included. |

Many British governments have shipped in a number of undesirables who have caused lots of damage to British society. My point is that there have also been large numbers of immigrants who have paid taxes, contributed to the country, joined the armed forces and died defending the principles of their country - Britain. These people have and continue to make a valuable contribution. Be careful not to tar everyone with the same brush. By immigrants, I don't mean the hordes of bogus asylum seekers and Islamofacists... |

I disagree mush; there are way too many immigrants on this Island already. Furthermore, labours little social engineering programme is proving to be a disaster in some quarters, Tower hamlets being a prime example: Poverty, high unemployment and infested with Jihadists. Britain has changed more in the last 20yrs than it has in 1000yrs. Nobody asked for the Labour party to flood our shores with immigrants, 4 million they have let in, and the consequences of their actions nearly brought murder to our streets when four Somalia asylum seekers very nearly repeated the actions of the other Islamic London bombers. Furthermore it is not racist to voice opinions concerning the dreadful affect mass immigration is having on many suburbs, of many cities up and down the land. Muslims have colonized whole areas; they have got rid of our culture and replaced it with theirs. Immigrants do bring positive things to this country without a doubt, however, we don't need them to move from their homelands en masse and come here, they are swamping our schools, housing and benefits system, and we are the ones who are suffering from this gross misconduct by the labour party. Just to put things into perspective, you tell me exactly what a Somali lady who cannot speak a word of English, with 5 or 6 kids all living in a council hose funded by us all brings to this country? What exactly? because in Birmingham there are THOUSANDS of them. |

I'm not arguing for some mass exodus of immigrants into England, just that we recognise that to some extent immigration is inevitable. Furthermore, I completely agree with your points on Tower Hamlets and the immigration of people who have no intention whatsoever of fitting in with our type of society. They should be weeded out at the earliest possibility and those that are here they should be booted out asap. Neither am I talking about the economic migrants who come here to escape poverty in their own countries, I sympathise with their position but you're right, we can't allow these people to come in en masse and clog up public services. Most importantly of all, I believe that any immigrant desiring to enter into Britian should be able to prove their continued willingness to adapt to the culture in which they are entering. I am not, and never was, arguing that "a Somali lady who cannot speak a word of English, with 5 or 6 kids all living in a council hose funded by us all" is a valuable member of society. |

I agree with a lot Hermes is saying and I think the point is that immigration should be controlled and not allowed to go untracked. I don't think the sole reason Labour let so many people in was for votes and I think that even Blair has probably been taken out of context. I think they simply got their numbers wrong and underestimated the impacts it would have on certain areas, in particular the now Muslim areas of Britain. I am not defending them in any way though. I think they are to blame for the state we are in now. Trouble is not enough has been done to reverse the tide. That's why we are here now in the EDL, to stop the erosion of our culture. I think the biggest issue we are facing is political correctness, we have freedom of speech as long as you don't offend anyone! |

You've got to ask, how many immigrants have actually helped Britain? Well a lot, but with Labour's ridiculous immigration rules there have been lots of immigrants coming here how don't integrate at all and they transform areas. Look at what's happened to Bradford. There are many areas there that are dangerous for white people, due to the areas being Muslim areas. And how did these Muslims get here? Immigration. What has happened to Britain is that it has had too much mass immigration. Labour should never get elected. They've ruined many parts of Britain and more importantly, Islam would not be as powerful in Britain as it is now if Labour hadn't have been elected for 13 years in a row. People are trying to make a point that immigration will always happen. That is true but mass immigration shouldn't be. Tower Hamlets is a perfect example of the transformation that has been done to many parts of Britain. |

Any immigrant should be willing to integrate to the way of life, it's not exactly hard. If not, then fair enough and the beat of luck to them, but Britain isn't the right place for them.. Best of luck sorry Edited by Hermes, Dec 11 2010, 01:01 PM.

I find it very strange that the Gurkha's weren't allowed to settle here after they retire from service, yet we allow one armed hate preachers and kebab makers in at the drop of a hat! The worse thing is, even if we did get rid of all the migrants we would still be left with loadsa 'English' muslims, who some, in my opinion are worse than these who are recently arrived! |

I agree - we need to keep our population from decreasing but the problem is we're now about to become the most crowded major country in Europe because of mass immigration, and it's putting a strain on our public services and jobs market. Also Migration Watch revealed that they don't actually add anything to our GDP: http://www.migrationwatchuk.org/Briefingpaper/document/7 And Muslims have the highest unemployment rate: http://www.statistics.gov.uk/cci/nugget.asp?id=979 |

Here is a couple of offences listed under the treason act 1351 which is still in force: Adhering to the sovereign's enemies, giving them aid and comfort, in the realm or elsewhere. To levy war against the sovereign "in order by force or constraint to compel her to change her measures or counsels, or in order to put any force or constraint upon or in order to intimidate or overawe both Houses or either House of Parliament", or to "move or stir" any foreigner to invade the United Kingdom or any other country belonging to the sovereign. Im not Rumpole of the Bailey but there seems to me a prima facae case against the labour party and their terrorist friends. |

When I was a kid, me and me brother used to play with them plastic soildiers and always ended up fighting over who was gonna be the Gurkhas. In my mind they were like the Ninja section of the British army. It's funny how two groups of people who are so geographically close (Gurkha's & Pakistanis) are soooo different. The only dividing factor in their ways of life is Religion. I think that speaks volumes! |

The other difference is the awareness of the respect and affection that the British public holds for them despite the shameful betrayal of Muslim loving Labour who would gladly see these proud warriors rot in poverty at the behest of certain muslim politicians. |

The reason given by the Labour govt at the time for increasing immigration, was because, we didn’t have enough workers employed to compensate for the high level of old age pensioners in the UK. |

Ahh that explains why Labour let in tens of thousands of short fat horrible Somali women in their burkas and with 5 to 8 kids each. Nothing to do with sticking them all on benefits, or about the millions it costs the taxpayer every week to educate, feed and supply medical and dental work all courtesy of the NHS, or the army of translators needed to help them fill out their benefit forms, it was all about our long suffering pensioners.....bless |

so basically Labour done this to My England out of Fcukin spite. Marxist, pigs. what has happened to areas of london and the midlands would be called ethnic cleansing if it happened in the former yugoslavia... The gurkhas are indeed a great regiment within the British armed forces. some of there 'work' has become legendary. in the battles for the falklands, just the mere mention of the Gurkhas was enough to make whole units of argentinian soldiers both conscript & professional surrender... They should be allowed to live here and receive the same pension as all other retired members of our Military elite.. where i live i couldnt beleive it when i found out that when some immigrants are arrested, translaters for some languages had to come from London, over 140 miles away. which costs a sh1t load of money and time. even worse when i found out that some of the lesser offences [ motor vehicle tax, shoplifting, unsafe vehicles etc] were simply ignored or just cautioned to save time and money following them up. but if they cannot understand the caution whats the point ? the root of the problem as it is with the recent student protest is education ... if our schools and subsequently our universities are not producing the right skilled people then something needs to change. Too many students are taking art / media studies / social sciences type of course just for the stake of getting a degree, given we need people with these skills but its dieportionate to the number of jobs actually avialable... Incentives should be given to allow for more students to skill in medicine, science, engineering and so forth .. this would then reduce our need to import skills from abroad ... labour did this on purpose, they fcuked the education system to increse the need for immigrants and thus improve their vote share ... it is gerrymandering at its finest and they should be held accountable for it tbfh |
