http://www.libertiesalliance.org/2010/12/10/english-defence-league-clean-up-student-mess-and-honour-wartime-leader/ The chaos and damage caused by militant students in London yesterday has rightly being condemned. English Defence League activists are often the victims of the anarchist mobs who increasingly run rampant in British towns and cities and who appear to have connected themselves to the student movement. I would guess that many of these hard core Marxist activists are also people who protest against the EDL and its campaign to preserve British values, culture, and civilisation. The following photographs show some of the damage that the militant leftist activists left in their wake. In the aftermath of the recent left wing riots in London, EDL activists have stepped forward to help the clean-up process in the area around the statue of the great wartime leader and champion of freedom Sir Winston Churchill. EDL activists obviously have civic pride and see the value in what their ancestors built up for future generations. Perhaps this is because most of them never entered the university system that seems to encourage self-hate and contempt for Western society in many of those who pass through it. The photographs that follow show them hard at work on the cleanup operation. Of course, the anarchist types who deliberately disrupt EDL events have no civic pride and look on their country and its environment with utter contempt. Anarchists and the revolutionary left just want to destroy things of value be that the built environment or the traditions, rights, and freedoms that have been built up over centuries. Successive governments must share some of the responsibility; after all people are now brainwashed from an early age to treat their own history, institutions, culture, and civilisation with contempt. The government has also devalued higher education and debased the value of degrees by giving them out like confetti. Perhaps the students need to wake up and realise that the main purpose of higher education, from the perspective of the ruling elite, is not to equip them for life but to brainwash them, and keep them off the unemployment statistics while at the same time putting them into crippling debt. Higher education has been made into a crude instrument of control and a vehicle for ill-conceived social engineering projects rather than as a vehicle of enlightenment and rational thought. What is needed in higher education is a greater emphasis on the skills that the country needs. Students who study disciplines in science, medicine, and engineering should receive full grants, whatever the earnings of their parents. If ‘students’ want to study Mickey Mouse degrees or submit themselves to the brainwashing of social engineers then surely they should be expected to pay for such a leisure activity themselves. |

I know this won't get reported in the MSM, but people on the ground will have noticed. Some of these people will have started to think, are these just racist thugs or are they something more. The guys that did this have done the EDL a huge service. It was the epitome of peaceful, lawful and dignified protest. |

big congratulations on you guys cleaning up their mess. I was indefferent to the student protests before they started mindless vandalism of the statue of the great Sir Winston Churchill. the sad thing is these people are the future leaders of this country. it saddens me to know that these people have no respect for the people that made this country GREAT Britain. im all for going to any future protest to protect these monuments and im sure most of the lads from my unit would be too. keep up the good work. |

Well done people. You're a credit to you're country. Don't expect too much from the press though, they seem to refuse to mention the good work the EDL do. Congratulations. |
