"...Lord Carey has written a leaflet to support the campaign in which he warns that Britain’s rich Christian legacy in many aspects of society, from the legal system, to healthcare, education and culture, is “under attack”. He says that cases of teachers and council employees being suspended for offering prayer and bans on wearing the cross in the workplace are evidence that Christianity is being “stealthily and subtly brushed aside” in Britain. “This attempt to ‘air-brush’ the Christian faith out of the picture is especially obvious as Christmas approaches,” he writes. “The cards that used to carry Christmas wishes now bear ‘Season’s greetings’. The local school nativity play is watered down or disappears altogether. “The local council switches on ‘Winter lights’ in place of Christmas decorations. Even Christmas has become something of which some are ashamed. “So, it appears that flowing from a combination of well-meaning political correctness, multiculturalism and overt opposition to Christianity, a new climate, hostile to our country’s tradition and history, is developing....” http://www.christiantoday.com/article/lord.carey.says.christianity.is.under.attack.in.britain/27181.htm Also see Islam's war against Christmas |

Maybe because Christianity is about peace and forgiveness, thats why they want to eradicate it from our society.Maybe we should start a Religion and worship a Prophet who is a paedophile, one where we support the Nazis, hate gays, oppress women, chop off the heads of non-believers.Anyone any ideas for a name for a new religion? |

As we get bigger, so does our exposure. Our profile is increasing and we are reaching out to the common consensus. |

If they hate our lights so much then maybe we should cut off their electric supply! Welcome from East Yorkshire Kinsman!

To be fair it is only the 5th December Gaz, someone in my mates road had them up in November. I do think as well as the winterval assault by the left wing on Christmas, it has also faced an assault by us, people now see it as a consumer fest, try to out do people in a 'I celebrate Christmas considerablay more than yow' sort of way. Anyway how do we know they're Christmas lights at your house, they could be lights you left up after Eid..... |

Personally, as an atheist, I celebrate the passing of the winter solstice. However, I call the named days Christmas and New Year. I send my Christian friends cards with a Christmas message, my other friends get Seasons Greetings type cards. This year I have a new friend to send a card to. He spends every spare moment reading the Gospels. He is Fijian, and less than a century and a half ago his ancestors were cannibals. The British Empire and Christianity gave that friend a great gift. I am neither an imperialist nor a Christian, but I respect both. Somewhere among British values there is something special, and it goes beyond religion. Nowhere else do we understand the concept of a queue so well. It's not your position in the line that matters, but time spent waiting, plus the strong defer to the weak. That is our culture, it is special, and the notion of multiculturalism threatens it. No submission. |
