Radical UK Muslims' secret conference scrapped following cops' intervention London, Nov 29 : UK police stopped radical Muslims from organising a secret Islamic International Revival Conference featuring hate preachers Omar Bakri and Sheikh Faisal on Saturday in London's East End, in which the duo were scheduled to appear by video link from overseas to address the delegates. Faisal was deported to Jamaica in 2007 for urging the murder of Jews, and Bakri fled to Lebanon in 2005 after praising the 7/7 bombers. According to the Sun, rebel leaders Abu Izzadeen, just out of jail for inciting terrorism, and Anjem Choudary, who urges Sharia law in the UK, were to address followers in person. The extremists planned this conference at a secret place after Scotland Yard had blocked a first venue, but the second conference was also cancelled after they realised that cops already had information about their latest attempt. An organiser said yesterday that their right to freedom of speech had been violated. The paper quoted Choudary as saying that "the owner of the back-up premises was warned to cancel and not tell us till the last minute," adding that it exposed "a burning hatred" against Islam but vowed the seminar will take place. The right-wing English Defence League had planned a counter demonstration. A police spokesman said: "We urge the conference organisers to work with us in future." link http://www.newkerala.com/news/world/fullnews-94205.html |

i am not sure whether this was a clever move by the police. these conferences as sickening as they are, would be a gold mine for identifying potential perpetrators and supporters of islamic extremism. The Intel they could had amassed would had been epic. This Intel could then had been used to reduce the risk from these shores pretty quickly as those deemed 'hostile' and posing a real threat could be identified quicker and removed from the streets ... so ... by forcing them to cancel .... whats the agenda here ? it achieves nothing at all .. let these morons have their freedom to speech, and give them the rope from which they should swing ... |

I agree Boudicca, it just pushes them underground. Letting them have it, they would be able to keep tabs on people and identify any new comers to thier cause.

I agree it should have been allowed to go ahead, preferably with plenty of media coverage and reporting of the bile they spill forth but our TV news channels are too far up their own back passages to do anything like that! |

You make a good point Boudicca but we do not know what intelegence the police have. The EDL is starting to see the fruit of all the hard work that has been put in, people are realising that our demo's are a true warning of things to come if we do nothing. The police are using the excuse that the EDL will have a demo This is a small victory for the EDL, we have given the police a reason to stop islamist extreemis's having a conference and not be accused of being racist's |

The existence and continuance of this conference for EDL was a goldmine. The conference venue only held about 100 people, who would probably all already agree with Choudary. But we could use the advertising material and the speaker list as an example of the kind of criminals, terrorists, homophobes and anti-semites involved in these muslim extremist organisation. It also served as an opportunity to expose HNH/Searchlight and their 24 years of "let's do nothing about those Nazis with a tan and funny foreign clothes". I think having Choudary arrested on-site would be great. But as he's a lawyer he probably can point out that he is just within a hair's-breadth of legality. |

Agreed they could have let them have it for intel purposes but maybe the possible EDL Demo would have made it difficult to do that, but then again they may not have even known about it or how serious the meeting was going to be if not for the EDL intel in the first place? Anyhow, best result all round, it didn't happen, we helped get it banned & the rabbits are on the run run run ;-) Edited by Frankie4Fingers, Nov 29 2010, 11:47 AM.

I agree with the above that they should have let it happen, additionaly, if they ban this event, to show "evenhandedness" they can then also ban an EDL event. |
| Winston Churchill on Islam ; ' The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.... | |
