SOLDIERS are to march through the streets of Blackburn to celebrate their return from Afghanistan. The 1st Battalion The Duke of Lancaster's Regiment will be honoured at a homecoming service at Blackburn Cathedral. Some 120 soldiers in full uniform will then exercise the regiment's right under the Freedom of the Borough to march through town. And people from across Lancashire are being urged to 'join the parade' by lining the streets to give them a hero's welcome. Civic leaders have hailed the decision to celebrate the battalion for its sixth-month tour of duty, which ends in October. Local dignitaries have begun to receive invites to the event, which will take place on December 1. The route through town has yet to be confirmed There is a small group called the blackburn resistance that might try disrupting things

Just searched for Blackburn Resistance. It's best that many of us try to get there and show them what happens when you disrupt our troops homecomings. |

British by birth, English by the grace of God. “St George he was for England, and before he killed the dragon, he drank a pint of English ale, out of an English flagon.” "In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, brave, hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot." | |
