From The Sunday Mercury... English Defence League identify school where girl 'set fire to Koran' Nov 28 2010 A SCHOOL where a 15-year-old girl allegedly burnt a copy of the Koran could become the target of extremists. English Defence League supporters identified the school, alongside demands for the mass burning of Islam’s holiest book in protest at the pupil’s arrest. The youngster allegedly posted a video of her setting fire to the Koran on Facebook. The footage was reported to education chiefs and subsequently removed. She was arrested on suspcion of inciting racial hatred on November 19. A 14-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of making threats. Both have since been released on police bail. Sandwell Council and West Midlands Police had asked the media not to name the school in an attempt to prevent extremists provoking trouble. But EDL supporters ignored the request and, as well as naming the school on the internet, called for demonstrations that could lead to violence. But a senior teacher at the school said the girl did not realise what she was doing. He said: “If she stopped to consider the fallout, and the offence it would cause to people within her own community, I honestly don’t believe she would have done it.” http://www.sundaymercury.net/news/midlands-news/2010/11/28/english-defence-league-identify-school-where-girl-set-fire-to-koran-66331-27728946/ |

Who ever arrested that girl and aided and abetted the arrest needs to be and should be arrested for imprisonment, deprivation of freedom to speak and malicious conduct. If the police are not protecting citizens and even molesting them with false charges then they are no longer police and they no longer work for the the people of England. They are self serving thug criminals that should be ashamed that they sold out England for a job with a badge. Arrest them and try them in a people's court. BEFORE the peodophile worshipers take one more square foot of England! |

I'm of the opinion burning any book is idiotic but in a free society there is a legalistic tolerance of the idiotic, prison time for burning paper and ink is simply Stalinist. Some thought on why many muslims seem to be more offended by book burning than suicide bombing. Denying god's existence is the one unforgivable thing in Islam-burning the koran could be interpreted as this, where as all non-muslims are only fuel for the fire so a few dead infidels here and there is really nothing to get in a twist about. If Islam were the truth it would be a world where burning the Koran really was worse than suicide bombing which is why we can be thankful Islam is probably not the truth. In free and civil societies of course we can say that people who are more offended by book burning than suicide bombing are stuck in the middle ages. The question is of course:are we a free and civil society? |

The school is no where neer birmingham, its in west bromwich, its on the estate i grew up on,its a good 8-10 mile from brum,it borders several large council estates and hardly any mussies live on these estates ,the muslim kids that attend this school are bused in from great bar and west bromwich. The school is less than a mile from where the annual St Goerges parade kicks off from and gets around 20,000 marchers. Its ideal recruiting ground for the edl. |

A book is just that - a book. It's made of paper and ink. Destroying a copy of the book does not destroy any messages, beliefs or culture it contains - those still exist. People who protest this need to concentrate their energies on things that really matter more - racial discrimination; poverty; child abuse; etc; etc. |
