There are a few articles at Gates of Vienna about Elisabeth Sabaditch-Wolff. The latest is one of the best you'll read anywhere. Here's the link. The funny thing is, there is no mention of Sabaditch-Wolff on either Atlas Shrugs or Jihadwatch. In a recent interview, Sabaditch-Wolff mentioned that she would like to have expert witnesses testify at her upcoming trial, and said that although she had asked Robert Spencer to help her out, she had so far received no reply from him. As you'll know, Spencer and Geller (of Jihadwatch and Atlas Shrugs respectively) have recently been appearing together throughout the States, following their collaboration on a book. When Geller found out that Sabaditch-Wolff had mentioned in an interview that Spencer had not offered to assist Sabaditch-Wolff at her trial, despite being asked, Geller's response was not 'Oh I'd better get on to Robert and see if he can't get over there and help this woman.' Which one would have expected. No, Geller called Sabaditch-Wolff an 'ingrate' and was more concerned about having funded an earlier visit to America by Sabaditch-Wolff. Geller vowed, 'Never again.' Spencer has since let Sabaditch-Wolff know that he will not be testifying as an expert witness at her trial. One can't help wondering if Geller's attitude has something to do with her co-author's decision. It appears that Prof. Hans Jansen and Wafa Sultan will be travelling to Austria to testify at Sabaditch-Wolff's trial. Anyone who has been following Geert Wilders' case will be familiar with those two names. One naturally wishes Ms. Sabaditch-Wolff the best of luck. I have a feeling she'll need it. It is quite disappointing though, to see Sabaditch-Wolff being abandoned by two of the biggest names in what might be called the counterjihad movement, just when she needs help the most. |

Interesting piece. It does seem a little odd about Geller and Spencer. But she's got an excellent witness in Wafa Sultan |

Did you know that Geller now signs her emails: Yours in liberty, Pamela Geller Editor, Publisher Atlas Shrugs Executive Director, FDI/SIOA Author The Post-American Presidency, the Obama Administration's War on America Quite a mouthful, eh? One can't help wondering if Geller and Spencer are putting their own egos before doing what is right. Geller recently posted on her blog that she had received an award because of 'the work that defines me - defence of freedom' (See link.) That's all well and good, and there's no question that Geller has done some good work. That should be recognised, too. However it's difficult to reconcile her claim that the 'defence of freedom' is what 'defines' her with her choosing not to post anything on her blog (which gets a lot of traffic) about Sabaditch-Wolff's trial. As for Spencer changing his mind and saying he won't be going to support Sabaditch-Wolff, well only he knows why he's taken that position. So far as I'm aware, he's travelled to Europe before now. He's certainly not short of a bob or two, so I find it difficult to believe he couldn't afford a plane ticket & a hotel for a week. Maybe the two aren't connected, but it's strange that Geller would make those comments about Sabaditch-Wolff, and then suddenly Spencer won't go to help her (after promising he would). The point is I suppose that although Geller has made complimentary remarks about the EDL before now ... |
