Does the EDL consider Northern Cyprus Land stolen from the Greeks Cypriots. Seems to me the Greeks are on their own on this one. Why is the Christian West not standing by them? Edited by Fritz, Nov 26 2010, 04:21 PM.

Depends which way you want to argue this one and how far back you want to go. For starters the Turks had held Cyprus since the Ottoman invasion of 1571, we leased the island in 1878, and annexed it at the outbreak of WW1 when the Turks sided with the Central Powers. The 1923 Treaty of Lausanne ended all Turkish claims to the island. That´s got the ball rolling I hope. |

That may be true now, but as this movement grows it will start to have some influence at Govt level and we are going to need to be clear on a number of International situations. Just because the Greeks are small and have no oil, it does not mean they are friendless in the world. Greek civilization is at the very centre of what it means the to inheritors of Western Civilization. We are fighting for the values the Greeks gave all the European counties. So the Greeks on Cyprus should be our concern |

Well the Turkish part is not recognised by the EU. I have Greek Cypriot and Armenian Cypriot friends who have very strong views on it. My Armenian Cypriot friend does not hold Turkeys behaviour in a very good light, but that has a lot to do with 16 of his ancestors being locked in Church and burnt alive in Turkey. |

Exactly right. EDL is for the defence of England and should not be concerned with Cyprus. |

In my opinion this country spends far too much time worrying about other countries and not enough time sorting our own problems out. That may be a simplistic view but it is about time some balance was restored |

Agree with above comments, I would think the EDL should concentrate on this country, and sorting out our own problems. |

Well said. The govt are more concerned with whats going on elsewhere in the world rather than dealing with the issues and problems that are affecting this country and the average man on the street is more worried about z-list celebrities having to eat kangaroo-nadgers in the jungle. |

EDL = United by friendship regardless of race or colour. We may not see or speak to each other as much as we should , and we won't always agree on everything, but we WILL always pull together through thick and thin BECAUSE WE ARE FAMILY. | |

Britain's (and of course America's) Culture and Intellectual Inheritance are based on the combined cultures of Greece, Rome and Jerusalem. So we should care what happens to the Greeks. As for just dealing with just the UK's attempted takeover. Our problems with Islam are part of a bigger plan that has been going on for 1400 years. It has only just now slipped into top gear because of the oil money We stood by while Islamic Turkey took over Christian Northern Cyprus. To our everlasting shame, we did not just stand by while Islamic Albania took over a province of Serbia, we actually helped the Islamic Albanians by bombing Belgrade using our Tax £££ Each European country is being picked off one at a time. The Greeks problem is our problem Edited by Fritz, Nov 26 2010, 09:35 PM.
