Just an observation.

The entire town of Nuneaton is aware that the EDL are coming tomorrow, but the reason behind the visit does not appear to have been effectively communicated. Many appear to be under the impression it is because of a previous small scale confrontation that took place a few months ago at The Crew Bar/end of Edwards Street when the Queens Royal Fusiliers were granted Freedom of the Borough.

Many people are unaware of the existence of the Hijaz College on the A5 & the fact that it was the first established Sharia court in the UK & now serves as a model & Administration centre for the subsequent 85 that have been set up. For the sake of justification/clarification efforts must be made to communicate the reasons behind the selection of Nuneaton as a venue for a protest.

I agree entirely, but am still at a loss why the march does not start or end at the Sharia court. This was originally adveritsed as a march against Sharia Law, but if we are not going to the court, it seems strange to me. See you all tomorrow in Larry Grayson;s pub!

are the people who live in Nuneaton that ignorant to what's happening in their own town? :O
THEY JOINED FOR MANY REASONS, TO MARCH, TO SAIL, TO FLY. THEY WENT WHERE THEY WERE POSTED, BUT NOBODY JOINS TO DIE. THEIR LEADERS TALK ON TV, WHAT ELSE COULD WE HAVE DONE? BUT THOSE LEADERS LOST NO DAUGHTERS, AND NONE HAS LOST A SON. SO HERE'S TO ALL OUR SOLDIERS WHEREVER THEY MAY BE...AND HERES TO ALL THEIR FAMILIES, I RAISE A GLASS TO THEE...WEAR YOUR POPPY WITH PRIDE.

Before the EDL I was unaware that the first sharia court was established in Nuneaton.
I think people like us on this forum, who take an interest in the Islamification of the UK often take it for granted that other people are as aware as we maybe are. It never fails to amaze me how many people simply don't know what's going on, but they know who is on 'I'm a (D-List) celebrity' and the like.
In my opinion it shows what we, as a community, have become and why they have allowed and encouraged us to become like it

I don't think it's down to ignorance mate. Villa Loyal has hit the nail on the head. It is not reported in the local papers. There are not too many people who know what the Hijaz College represents or are even aware of it's existence.

Local Div:

Consider going out fly posting and leafleting today and tomorrow to raise awareness and explain why we are going to Nuneaton?

(Just a suggestion but maybe consider this for all future activity?)

There was a girl on here a few months back from Nuneaton who popped up after we had been supporting the gurkahs asking "why my town???" she came across at first as ignorant to what was happening in her town but then made comments about how the Muslim women behave towards her at school and the Muslim kids behave towards her kids at school and how her town had changed for the worse.
It is difficult for me to understand how you can be so ignorant* to something that is having a daily effect on your life and that of your kids....

*maybe unaware is a better word than ignorant?

Yes Star I remember the girl & the conversations that took place. The thing is with Nuneaton, the Muslims have their own area (Edwards Street & all the surrounding streets), own schools etc, they are not spread around various areas of the town. If you live in the the other areas of the town & go about your business you may well not come into regular contact with them in your daily lives.

Two things spring to mind here. One is that I am gobsmacked they don't know, that should have been dealt with, not here to lay blame or finger point, that can be taken as a learning curve. I doubt they are unaware though but yes it should have been made clear.
Second and most important is simple and easy for anyone to 'get'. The EDL will go everywhere and anywhere, in protest, to highlight the problem we face. From big city's to small towns from problem areas to areas that will be effected, we will go, march, protest and spread the word.
It is not so much a question of why but when!

Maybe leafleting is a good idea in that case.... to raise awareness -otherwise why are we there? If the local people don't realise what's happening on their own doorstep then no wonder if they don't welcome the idea of hundreds of people protesting in their town and it's not like the papers will explain why EDL are coming.

Hopefully after tomorrow the people of Nuneaton will wake up and realise whats happening on their doorstep. Hoping we get a good reception from the locals ......
EDL = United by friendship regardless of race or colour.

We may not see or speak to each other as much as we should , and we won't always agree on everything, but we WILL always pull together through thick and thin BECAUSE WE ARE FAMILY.

If the EDL came to my little, none islamified town, I would take it as read that they are protesting to get their

message across to all and sundry, there doesn't have to be a specific problem in the town they protest in, surely.

get that all the time, very irritating that in 2 small towns here just in past 6 months hav had mosques built, yet nobody knows of any muslims from these areas - it seems it only takes 2 muslims to arrive in a town and they get a mosque built. - never reported unless they get some multicultural lovin tit of a politician to cut the ribbon, then it gets a wee square of a page report.

Yes saw that Gazzads. News all about EDL sending letters to councils who do not recognise Christmas and try to do the PC thing. Basically saying EDL will protest and the protest will cost the town £500,000 on average so best to recognise Christmas.
