Last Minute Changes To Nuneaton March

I see they have made last minute changes to the Nuneaton march. It appears that the muster point has been moved from the middle of town (justices Walk - near the train station) to what is essentially an industrial estate on the very outskirts of the town (probably a 25 - 30 minute walk away from town). I see there have been no similar changes made to the opposition (NAFA) who are still planning to meet at the original location.

I read that as the coaches will meet police there and then be escorted in, rather than making us walk from there. It is no real change at all, just a different way to manage the traffic

Probably means that they've all got spangly new trainers and stopwatches to see if they can beat the fastest time set in the Leicester Sprint challenge (sponsored by the EDL).

I find it a very strange decision to be honest. To get from Bermuda Park into the town the most direct route is down the A444 bypass. When you get to the end of that & walk down the hill you are at the Coton Arches roundabout & just off that roundabout is Edward Street which is (together with all the surrounding streets) the main Muslim area of the town. It has The Crew Pub at the bottom end which was the scene of the first stand-off when the Royal Anglicans were given the freedom of the borough. I would assume they are going to block off Edward Street & all subsequent left turns & marshal you down Coton Road. I would make the assumption that they will do their utmost to keep you away from the Edwards Street area & the Mosque.

There is no way they will march everyone in from there. They will gather the coaches there and bring them in in convoy, rather than them arriving at tahe site one by one. Easier for them to police. However, I thinkit is madness to take them so close to the top of Edward Street, either in coaches or on foot and would not be suprised if they went the back way from the Griff Island and possibly down Donnithorne and into town from Attleborough Road.

It is standard to have all coaches escourted, Dudley ect have shown that coaches are prime targets for the cowardly mdl. Good muster point for many coaches I think.

Agreed.

All coaches mustered into one area as & when they arrive to be escorted en masse into town. Makes perfect sense.
