Having not been on this forum long, I was wondering how we can take things forward and take the message out to the public. I know there are a fair few football lads involved already and as you can see by my handle, I also fit into this catergory. I think that making better use of lads at football could be the way forward, I mean speaking from experience, we are generally well organised, travel in small and large numbers (dependant on team followed) and have some success in getting to places under the police radar, and used to dealing with s60's etc and general OB tactics. The biggest help to the OB is bloody FB etc, so most successes are from people who avoid this crap. Now my point is orchestrate flash demos across the country (coinciding with football games), this would show that these feelings are felt nationwide and also possibly bring other patriotic supporters on-side? Also, following the demise of our once great industrial nation, our main export to the world now is football, via Sky and many other networks that show our games across the world. So once again, we can demonstrate in the games (those on sky and every other ground across the whole country). It would not take long to do, and could be the same as the fans of my club done in T***ey, following the cold blooded murder of Kev & Chris (RIP), just the simple protest of turning your back on the game for the first minute of the game, preferably in silence. It was done again to mark the anniversary recently and was reported in the press. This sort of peaceful protest, would let others know we have had enough of what has been done/being allowed to be done, to our once great nation. The commentators etc, could not hide/lie/deny that a protest was taking place, considering that there is generally so much noise etc when the game kicks off, but instead, silence and the crowd turning their back on the game for the first minute. Most people know someone that attends football games and if joe public knew that the person they know must be participating in the protest, it would breakdown the myths/barriers presented by the media that all EDL members are neo-nazi fascists (unless of course that person they know just happends to be a fascist LOL). Just my thoughts, and I know things are organised amongst football lads, such as the recent London Bridge meeting and demo in Whitechapel, but I think that provided it can be organised, and I know the networks are well established between football lads, then we could take our protests peacefully, to a wider audience??? |

I like your post very much! I'm not a great fan of football and know vitually nothing about the game (what's the off-side rule - again?!) but I do like your thinking. It's another dimension of protesting, a whole new ball game (no pun intended) and it's this type of thinking that needs to be encouraged. |
