Didn't they ban demos directly outside or something similar? There should definitely be some kind of petition regarding the government dealing with extreme Islam. It's pretty messed up our lads and lasses are dying overseas to stop extreme Islam but our own government isn't even dealing with it here. |

If we want maximum exposure, we should have a demo in London. Lets say, April time next year. I am only free on the 29th due to heavy workload. We could all go sightseeing, Westminster Abbey is supposed to be nice at that time of year.

I think we should have a permanent presence somewhere prominent like at the gates to Downing Street or the houses of parliament!!! Braziers, flags, leafleting, megaphones, street merchandising/ collections, press invites, celebrity invites, guest speakers etc. |

Demonstrating outside parliament is a great idea, but, and this is only a personal opinion, what would have a massive impact and really scare the establishment is if the working class started voting again. I've said it before, but more working class people probably vote for reality TV shows than take part in general or local elections. If the working class could be persuaded into voting again, it would have more of an immediate return than 10 years of demos, simply because in some areas, they would have to listen |

Villa you have a valid point mate. BUT.......... people have just been staying local for too long already mate. As is yours this is just my oppinion. As long as we keep the peace we wont scare anyone. Let the extremists throw the first stone, draw first blood. Let out 2 bob police force protect us for once!!! lets show the public what islam is really all about, whilest we are being peacefull! See my point? So come on MJ99 how do we sort this??? Great idea Parliament will be ideal, Outside Parliament is a large green where Sky TV interviews MPs ect, If we pick a day when Sky news are there or do a demo and tell Sky that two or three MPs are coming out to talk to us, be good if it works, If that fails see if we can all get an invite to the royal wedding thats in April |

in Preston a application was put into the council asking to change the name of Christmas to winter festival. because it was offensive. can you believe it. the sooner we stand before parliament as a legitimate party with a st George in one hand and a list of demands in the other the better. |

Just so you know - EDL had a demonstration outside Parliament on 5th March 2010. There are many people in EDL who want to have their pressing local issues brought to the attention of local & central government, for example, the Dudley super-mosque & the treatment of the Dudley2. Some highly-respected people in EDL think that it was a bad move to have cancelled the Walsall demo. We've had 3 London demos in the past 6 weeks. Including the planning that went into the Troxy/20th June demo, that would make 5 London demos in 6 months, 1 of which was outside Parliament. I don't disagree that we need more focus on London. But it really is not an issue of waking MPs up to the problems. They really do know what the problem is. IMO they just don't dare do anything about it... If we can raise awareness and political action in the rest of the country, then they will have to get some backbone. VillaLoyal is right - we have to get the large numbers of white working class voting again. There were a handful of really committed people who came to Tommy's committal hearing - from as far afield as wales, Lincoln and Bath. These people are not just incredibly dedicated, they are also really lovely people. Most of EDL's support is outside London. London has a huge muslim population - maybe 30% of the capital. Probably another 30% is made up of transients, disconnected immigrants, and the middle class. Getting support for EDL in London is harder than it should be because of those factors. EDL is going from strength to strength in London, but even if we got 3,000 people at a demo at Westminster, it won't change anything. There were (stories of) up to 1 million on the Stop the War march. The war still went ahead. IMO there are much smaller steps that EDL can make that will have a much more profound influence than a demo outside Parliament. For instance, getting more black people involved. A fascist islamic party in charge in 40 years is going to have just as profound an impact on their grand-children as it is on everyone else's grand-children. |

I think he is right, i swear i heard about this. i will try to find a link. found this: http://www.christiantoday.com/article/christmas.debate.continues/8669.htm The ongoing row over attempts to turn Christmas into a "winter festival" has taken a new turn with the start of a new debate over whether Christmas cards should be secular or traditional with a religious message. A fierce debate was ignited as The Daily Telegraph's Jeff Randall wrote in a column that he was discarding all cards that did not mention the word "Christmas" in it. The article provoked more than 200 responses from around the world, the majority in favour of keeping festive greetings traditional. this was 2006 so now 4 years on, would it still be on the cards to change it? Homo Sapien, i could not agree more with your point on getting more support from within the black comunity. I also strongly belive we should try and get our message accros to asians. I have spoke many hindu freinds and the agree totaly with this cause. The only reason i am so strong on London is i belive this is the only way to get national and possibly international reconision. I must make u aware that many asians i have spoke 2 about the EDL belive we are a SKIN HEAD orginisation! even tho i have a side parting may i ad! lol |

I wasn't having a dig, just wondered if you had seen a link for it but Englandman found something anyway. We should all make sure we only buy Christmas cards that have the true meaning of Christmas on them and make it known why we're not buying the others. No worries, we're not here to judge on anyones spelling
