Agreed with that... we have been playing baby sitter for years now... you know the korean war has never technically ended yet... even after all these years... I put this up here though because the actions of North Korea concern us all, not just the States. |

Does size really matter when you have nukes? couldn't have said it better myself... North Korea = crazies with nukes... not a good combo... imo something needs to be done about them... that and Iran... It's only a matter of time before they get their hands on nukes... |

The biggest problem with N. Korea is not N. Korea. The biggest problem is who China would side with. If things did get bad and China decided to back N. Korea then things would get very messy indeed. Countries like Iran would also support N. Korea. And who knows what the Russians would do. |

Now that is a very very scary thought, as soon as they get one, and they are desperately pulling all the stops out, they will use it 'in the name of allah'. Israel will be targeted and 3rd world war starts. I just wonder if USA will go in before they achieve full nuclear capacity? |

I know both Israel and the U.S. have been drooling at the mouth to get at Iran but not many would be in favor of getting our already stretched out military into another conflict... this time against an enemy that actually has a real army. The U.S.... we are in so much debt I doubt we could even afford it... really it's Israel that would have to fight it but then again they get most of their money from the U.S. China is quickly becoming the west's greatest threat... they have all of our jobs and all of our factories now thanks to greedy corporate elites... how could we fight a war against China when they have so many factories that could be used to produce war items?... We would need Russia for sure to be on our side. Personally I think Russia needs to be on our side and we need to repair relations... we need a friend over there and Russia is our best bet IMO. |

If we went into Iran, we would have MAJOR problems at home (thats every western country) just think how many of our imports would rise up against us - from the inside, scary. |

That's their plan. They cant defeat us from the outside so they must do it from the inside. Anyways back go North Koreas actions ...they shelled the whole village...the whole village is up in flames south Korea has retaliated with at least 80 shells and fighter jets this could get ugly |

agreed, its on for sure now, after the recent ship sinking the South must respond & that's what a despot North want, I.E they do want & need everything so what better way to get hand outs is keep on playing the same hand & us pussyboy westerners keep on giving; it's like giving a kid its way all the time, you end up suffering long term & now it's time for a smack...or two. |

"North Korea has warned it will continue to launch strikes if the South violates its disputed sea border and blamed Seoul for starting major clashes that killed two soldiers. South Korea said around 200 North Korean artillery shells hit one of its islands, prompting Seoul to return fire." fcuking wipe the commie mugs off the map How can they blame this on the SKs? Why can't they just behave and stop playing the biggun...

Kim Jong-il is a dying man and I would not be surprised if he would like to go out in a blaze of "glory". He will be fairly sure that China will support N Korea. The man is mad and i,m sure his son will continue the family tradition in dictatorship of the people. It does not look good for S Korea, or for the rest of the region if this esculates further and of course Iran will be looking on with interest. All this because of a sick man in one of the smallest countries in the world, but hell bent to make a name for himself. |

Russia is a dying country, and islamic takeover will happen there before the rest of europe. In the years coming i think their influence will only decline further. If we were going to make alliances it should really be with the Chinese, like you said we could not possibly fight a war with them either. Just depends how much they progress in the next few decades... |

north Korea belives the West to be weak. It behaves in this manner simply because it can. In so doing it not only obtains concessions but humilates the West(sounds familer?). Are they taking a leaf from the Islamist book?

N Korea was always the problem, followed probably in a distant second by Iran. Iraq and Afghanistan were convenient for oil and a gas pipeline respectively. Nobody seriosuly believed that Iraq had WMD's. N Korea probably does, which is why nobody dare invade. Any Armed conflict involving N Korea would be one battle too many even for the USA. Never mind our pathetic Armed Forces ( no reflection on the sercivemen and women ) diminishing on a daily basis thanks to huge Defence cuts. I think China would side with N Korea but i don't think it would matter. Nobody is going to attack N Korea, because unlike Iraq and Afghanistan the North Koreans have a tasty Navy, Air Force, Army and hardware. http://www.globalfirepower.com/country-military-strength-detail.asp?country_id=North-Korea |

Those numbers are indeed scary. For a country so small they have a massive army size and like you said the hardware to back it up. Of course in a direct war the U.S. could easily handle them but we are so spread out at the moment. Like you I don't foresee any attack by us anytime soon. |

The thing with n korea, is the people are so controlled, they follow without question. Who knows what hardware they really have? They have been trading with the likes of China and Russia for decades, so even if their missiles are antique, they could have piles and piles of it. The same as their army. Poorly equiped maybe, but they drill and drill and drill, and they have atleast 2million... Abit like being over run with ants! They dont value lives, or laws, and they have nukes. That makes them incredibly dangerous I would say. And with freinds like China? Troubles brewing!! |

North Korea is behaving like this because it sees the west as weak, by being weak we are storing up trouble for ourselves in the future. We should stop pissing around and overcome North Korea by a combination of CIA type dirty tricks and a lightening war, then the people of korea could be united once more and a major threat to world peace would have been removed. |
| Winston Churchill on Islam ; ' The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.... | |

Dear China, They’re your friends; you deal with them. Signed, The civilized world As said in this thread. With the degree of lunacy going on in the DPRK (North), wouldn’t it be interesting if this attack, like the torpedoing and sinking of the ROK’s (South) ship, was launched by some loose cannons within the DPRK military, perhaps as part of an internal power struggle. It’s very difficult, perhaps impossible, to know for sure. Perhaps this. |

I think you've got that bit wrong mate, with all the Oil & Gas Russia is sitting on not sure how it's dying, far from it but from strength to strength if you ask me & when it comes to Islamic Terrorists they deal with them without holding back as unlike us they don't give fcuk what the rest of the World thinks. Its the EU & West in general who's influence is in decline unfortunately & we are living in very turbulent times. Edited by Frankie4Fingers, Nov 23 2010, 10:51 PM.

Gotta agree with you... Personally like I stated before I think our countries won't improve until we stop our economic ties with China and well possibility India. Both those countries are so overpopulated... how can we compete with workers who are willing to work for next to nothing?... No offense to anyone from India I have the best of respect for them but I hope you can see what I mean. |

Im on about the actual population changes- the russian death rates are the highest in europe, they have an AIDS epidemic, the life expectancy is now lower than bangladesh, and the native population is massivley decreasing- on the other hand, their muslim population is apporoaching 20% and growing quickly. Source: Mark Steyn's book- very interesting read if you like that sort of thing. |
