God knows why this was a news-worthy story but oh well, it's a positive report and the paper doesn't use the word "nazi, right-wing, far-right, fascist" etc. :)

The Chester Chronicle is also one of the first papers I've seen to actually get the EDL's goals pretty much correct in it's report too!

English Defence League attend Chester Cathedral Remembrance Day celebrations
Nov 11 2010 by Paul Mannion, Chester Chronicle

RUMOURS of anti-war protesters demonstrating at the Remembrance Day parades in Chester turned out to be members of the English Defence League wanting to show their support for the returning soldiers.

The group – which opposes the spread of Islam, Sharia Law and Islamic extremism – laid a wreath at Chester Cathedral this morning following the Cheshire soldiers parade through the city centre.

Cheshire Police spokesperson Jacqui Hanson said: “Nothing has happened.

“A small group of people who are from the English Defence League shouted and had their own flag.

“They peacefully laid a wreath at the cathedral.

“There was no issues with officers and they were supporting the parade.”

NO mention of extremist EDL.

No mention of far rigt.

No scum present so NO problems.

A "Very well done" to all those in attendance!!!

just a quick one, a small group of muzzies attempted to "hijack" the 2 minute silence outside the abbey in Bath today.

An elderly gentleman complete with medals went over and had a quiet word with them and then they left....

i didnt actually witness this happening but was told of it after the service, as i was part of the service!...by the man who went over.

Just a foot note, there will be a large scale parade in the center of Bath this coming sunday (Milsom Street)...something i will be part of....

i am not sure if the local muzzies are going to be in attendance but if any EDL from the Bath / somerset Bristol region are reading this and fancy a trip out, then please attend...on the off chance of any muzzies demonstrating..

Well done for attending, jayfer. Well done too to the old chap.

I didn't know you were in/near Bath. It's one of my favourite places to go when I come back to visit.

I am just in and trying to sober up!!!!! Thanks to all who came to the City today to represent the EDL. They carried themselves and the infant with them with fine manners. Today the EDL won a lot of people over to our cause....A rough estimate of our numbers would be in the region of 50-60, but as our prescience was felt, more young cestrians ( indigenous Chester people) turned out to stand with the EDL. We were given fine hospitality by one establishment and finally in a pub near the station ,were allowed to chant our heads of, only going quiet to allow the infant with us to sleep. This has been a good day for all the EDL, one were we showed our true selfs.......Respect to all the people from all the divisions who came!!!!!

Gutted I couldn't get back home to the great City for this - know a lot of the lads on the march, and hear they got a great reception from all. You won't get any UAF type around our City, they'd get smashed to bits,
