That would be brilliant if it does happen. Hatred and prejudice against our troops should have been nipped in the bud when it first appeared, not years down the line. Better late than never I'spose!

That's good news. People are now starting to take notice of us. Still a lot more work to be done though.

great news and about bloody time.....however seeing as the govt are twitchy about the EDL and speed in which support has gathered in the EDLs favour, what could possibly be next?

no more EDL demos allowed, no more chanting "ban the burka"? "no more mosques"? no to sharia law in uk?....

it works both ways!

Good point.

It's great news, and I reckon they would have ignored the troop abusers forever if it wasn't for the growth of the EDL, but it will remove the original reason for the EDL's existence, and I think that's maybe what it's about really.

Great news for the troops but all that hate has to vent somewhere else. Me thinks the Muslims will increase and go further down political party route

There are laws already in place that they could have used.

I'm cynical that this is being used as a trojan horse to sneak through

laws that will curb all of us in some way.

Spot on Ruby. Just like the terror 40 day laws they tried to bring in, the end up using it on the very people it is apparently brought into protect. I think we will see firearms warrants becoming more and more common with investigations into EDL members, as it then allows them to be held under terrorism legislation, less rights etc

Thing is if they use the old laws it will prove they have been totally inept or ignored these offenders. So to cover up they will use new ones, as if the public are thick.
They don't like it up 'em.
Don't tell them your name Pike.

On the face ofit, its brilliant news, lets hope our troops are the real reason behind it though.

"a new “respect” law."?

This is deeply worrying.

Isn't it just mate, try it out first on social pariahs, then move along to the next set of social pariahs

Do we have anyone amounst us who works within the legal trade that could find out , clarify and post up just what this new law entails?
I am sceptical about this however it is worth also remembering that what is now happening re mac and also under its old name ( islam4uk ) is a fairly new and unique to old laws.

It hasn't become law, Hoops so there's nobody knows what it entails yet.

I know Ruby that is why I asked if we had any one in the trade. Once it is law it will be openly available to find.
Once it is bonofied law there is nothing we can do, however at this point there are avenues, that also means and is more likely, the radicals will get it work in their favour some how.
