Thousands of Muslims will be embarking on the Haj pilgrimage to Mecca later this month. Halal meals and the sale of alcohol will be banned, I can understand that. There will also be extra hold luggage allowances so pilgrims can bring back holy water. Does anyone know if Chritians get the same treatment when they go to Lourdes? |

How much water are they bringing back? They get it from the ZamZam well, there's a wikipedia link, but it doesn't say how big the bottles are. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zamzam_Well I have seen a bottle of Lourdes water, it's quite small, 3 to 4 inches tall. Lourdes water is used for annointing, but the Zamzam well water is drunk. So I guess they need quite big bottles of it. Water weighs 1kg per litre. |

So why should they be allowed to bring liquids on planes when we can't? Oh, I forgot, we're just non-Muslims, we don't have the same rights. |

wheres the link for this story, and if its true about the water, serious questions need to be asked about the unequal treatment again, appeasing them just is getting beyond a joke tbh .... |

We are barred from carrying any liquid substances in luggage because of what Islamic terrorists caused. But they get special privileges to bring back so called holy water. What the fcuk is going on? What is this Holy Water? Is it piss water from Mohammed's old toilet or maybe Donkeys piss? Edited by PaBzTa, Nov 9 2010, 07:58 PM.

I thought the export of Zam zam water was forbidden. Perhaps it is acceptable in small (and thats a subjective definition) quantities for personal use. The well is said to be contaminated with arsenic, plus every year during Ramadan a local health authority somewhere in England has had to warn its Muslim residents against buying fake Zam zam water as it is probably 1) not genuine due t the prohibition on export and 2) whether genuine or not likely to be dangerously contaminated. Stick to Walsingham water - its pure, its clean, its English and Mohammed never went within 7000 miles of it. |

The OP says "hold luggage" the 100ml limit is only for liquids carried in hand luggage only. All theyve done is allow them to carry extra weight in their suitcases. Its still wrong tho, especially if they arent being charged extra for it |
