asylum seekers escaping from France; genuine?

I always thought we'd only accept asylum seekers if this was their first safe country of call. So why if they have come from France, Spain, Germany etc etc can they be considered genuine?

I personally wouldn't want to live in France but if i was escaping Somalia it sould seem an OK sort of place to stop running.

What is the law on this because i'm sure we shouldn't accept people from safe Euro countries.

Isn't the biggest incentive, to make a false claim here, the fact that we'll never kick you out?

If anyone has info on the law and if/or why not we are following these laws in the UK, please let me know.

I've got no problem with genuine asylum seekers but their wont be any room for them because of all the false claiments. And when their country is deemed safe again like Zimbabwe, why don't we send them back?

There are many reasons they come here, one of which is our benefits system, another is that for many people in the world, English is their second language so they can make a new start here quicker.
Once you're into the EU, you can move from one EU country to another (in theory) easily, though the UK has a few limitations not being part of the Schengen system of free movement in the EU. Doesn't stop them from gathering in France near the Chunnel nor do our bleeding heart liberals and biased human rights law legal system make it easy for us to kick them out once they are in.

Once they're EU citizens they can travel freely within Europe. But if they're asylum they have to stop at the first safe country.

And as for English being their second language, it's aslo the second language everwhere esle in Europe.

We are the softest touch (out of a lot of soft touches) in Europe, plain and simple. What other possible reason could there be?

The difficulty over the asylum issue is that the Labour Regime effectively signed away parliamentry control of the issue to the courts,by binding this country to European human rights law, and with the rise of judicial activism closely allied to the human rights culture, which in reality means that the European Court of Human Rights with it`s ideological belief in universal principles can overide the law of individual countries,

This coupled with the burgeoning industry of human rights lawyers has effectively meant that any asylum seeker bogus or otherwise once in this country will almost certainly remain, as it is now virtually impossible to deport unwanted individuals from these shores.

I guess they all want to come here because they think it is the high life. I know some countries you try to claim asylum in, they will only allow it for a number of months and then you have to leave.

I do believe Germany don't do alot to help asylum seekers, as in they leave them homeless with little handouts, where as the UK will provide asylum seekers with housing, food vouchers etc until their claim is rejected or accepted and they become a citizen.

If they are rejected, they become homeless while they appeal. If they get accepted and become a citizen - then it'll be stright onto benefits.

This is probably why they all want to come to the UK.
They’re sailing for England
Oh! What a shame!
Someone is after our island again
We’ll let them have it…
Oh, yes we will!
But maybe they won’t want it when they get the bill!

But, who’s sticking in here? Who will defend
every inch of England no matter what they send?
Who’s standing firm in our own front yard?
The soldiers of the old home guard

No they don't.

When an illegal is arrested, they have to provide a bail address. Which invariably is false, so the authorities can never catch up with them to deport them when their appeals are turned down. Then the process starts again when they are arrested again in the future. Its all fun and games.
