http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=174341825915310 This is on the EDL Jewish Division. They are doing a counter protest on 20th and 21st November, outside the Ahava shop in Covent Garden. I have followed their protests lately and when the EDL is there, the whole place lights up like sunshine in a rainy day. You guys should go to these ones because the street where they protest is narrow and they are very close to the counter protesters. I just think that you should take some megaphones as well. I support Israel and Israelis, and I think that we must all join together on these 2 days. I am planning to attend this one. |

This protest is organised as a BUYcott. The idea is the reverse of a boycott. The idea is to go to the particular business that the other side is calling for a boycott on and buy something. I believe the entire shop is 10% off for the occasion! I love the idea... it's a positive counter to a typical negative tactic much beloved of the enemies of freedom. There are some groups in Canada and the US that have done this and emptied the shelves of targeted businesses. I think the first one was an Israeli wine shop. :-) Sorry, lads, this one in London is for the lasses though I dare say you'd earn brownie points for picking up some early Christmas gifts! |

London City Airport (7.6 miles, 12.1 km), Heathrow Airport (14.5 miles, 23.3 km), Gatwick Airport (24.7 miles, 39.7 km) from covent garden. never flown from london city airport but i think it's more private, business sort of planes from there, can get a train from gatwick airport to london then a tube, probably take you about an hour and a half from the airport, again never flown from heathrow so that may be easier. Hope this helps and would be great to have you over for the demo.... NS |

London City is quite nice to fly through, small and a bit quieter than Heathrow Public transport from there is the Docklands Light Railway and that should connect up quite well to get you near Covent Garden.Otherwise Heathrow and straight in on the Piccadilly which is the closest stop (Covent Garden) to the Ahava shop. |

The demos are for two days. One on Saturday and one on Sunday. I will go to both but I think that the one on Sunday will be even bigger, because most Jews don't go out on Saturday but they do on Sunday. And since the Zionist federation is also arranging a counter protest against the pro-Palestinian boycotters, our sides should be big enough. And with 10% off the prices, I will buy something nice there too. |
