If you believe the papers? Do you mean the papers who are obviously on the Muslim payroll who never report anything that sheds a dark light on Islam? When Muslims protest and change the traditions of this country, it's not just a slight against Christians as a religious group, it's a big two fingers up to all of us. Like it or not, Britain is built on Christian values. I'm not a Christian, but I still celebrate Christmas and I buy choccy eggs at easter, not because I'm religious, but because I'm English and it's our tradition. Anyone who announces Christmas as "Winter Festival" or any other such PC term will be in line for a right round of feks from yours truly. What right does anyone have to change traditions that have been in place for hundreds of years? |

Nice post Lunar Monkey, Sadly what is occuring in the area of our national religion almost perfectly mirrors the disenchantment and contempt with which the current assortment of politicians are regarded, In the political sphere contemporary politics have left a legacy of anger, with large sections of the electorate feeling abandonded and disenfranchised by a range of iniquitous policies. The C of E has similarly mirrored that decline, with it`s churches converted into mosques, it`s supine surrender of the national faith to the advances of a rampant Islam, and it`s appeasement of the forces whose objective is its destruction, and as in politics disillusioned Christians are abandoning the church and finding comfort in the rapidly growing Christian Fundamentalism. As Lunar Monkey so correctly stated our traditions have been based on Christian values which have been steadily eroded by the forces of Securalism.and their displacement by the imposition of alien ideologies, and as the EDL is acting in defence of our traditions and values it is only logical that it should be perceived as a movement of the Christian Right, |

There are some very good comments on this thread. Yes, this country is essentially christian in it's religious tradition but our freedoms and democracy have ensured we live in a proud nation. Our hereitage is well worth protecting to ensure our freedom and democracy prevails against the creeping (or boldly strutting!) islamisation of our country but the EDL cannot be perceived as a christian Right movement. The EDL is a street movement and, if for one minute, I thought the EDL was a christian Right movement I would never have joined. If the EDL ever changed to a religious movement I would leave. The EDL is a street movement fighting the islamisation of our country and to suggest it's a religious movemrnt is utter nonesense. |
