I have been away, and on my travels took the opportunity to visit a very dear friend of mine, now without going into much detail about him I will tell you about the discussion i had with his father ...

first a bit of background on the father, he was born in Jordan, he fought in the 6 day war and moved to the UK and became a surgeon before retiring to a life back in the middle east.

I asked him this

why did you not bring up your children as moslims ?

his answer was this

I do not believe in any god, i wanted my children to have freedom of expression, freedom of life, to make their own decisions and i did not want them to follow islam for it is barbaric in its ways

... he left his eldest daughter in the middle east on moving to the UK as she had already started schooling but later in her life he saw a change in her, realizing that she was going through a process of change as a result of the rigors of living in a moslim lifestyle brought her to the UK, she on arrival prayed 5 times a day, and was extremely hostile to the family as it was very westernized the father liked his scotch and she used to throw it down the sink in protest !

She no longer follows islam ....

for me this man deserves an incredible amount of credit for doing wht he has done, and does show that there are 'moderates' out there that are happy with western values and lifestyles. He actually said that we were heading down a very dangerous path with allowing the introduction of halal, the ever increasing number of mosque and agreed that the burka has no place in the western world let alone in Jordan !

thanks for posting that Boudicca, it gives hope that there are some moderate Muslims prepared to make a stand against the radical elements, and hopefully one day they will stand up and find a public voice :)

A man who loves his family more than some barbaric death cult. There is hope for some of them at least. :)

I do not doubt that there are some moderates but the problem is they keep quiet. Well done to her Father, for what it looks like he had to de-programme her. It must have been a very difficult job. There maybe a little candle in the distance, but it is still a very very long way off.

Good luck to them I say.

Peace

She was one of the lucky ones. He was a good man to help her, if only there were more like him, but there won't ever be that many. I hope when she is old enough, if she has children she will keep her children safe from Islam.

Islam has had years, without hindrance, to build their deep rooted foundations in this country, now it is fastly becoming an impenetrable and powerful force. The mosques, the colleges, the unis, schools are all being discretely controlled by the iron fist of Islam.

It is the children I feel desperately sorry for, they are being forcibly islamically controlled and segregated, their natural childhood years are being stolen from them - and this country continues to turn a blind eye.

It has come to light that some girls going to colleges/unis, wearing what the 'peaceful ones' describe as 'sensible' clothing have been found out to be changing their clothes in the toilets when they get there, they change into 'tarty' clothes (not my words) - they are being spied upon and then reported to controlling Islamists within their communities. The controlling ones are accusing the girls of committing Apostasy! (Makes my fecking blood boil......as I fear this is getting out of control and for some girls, their lives are at risk. I dread to think what is going on that we aren't aware of - and they are helpless!)

These fanatics are patrolling and stalking muslim youngsters. It is a f*cking disgrace this is being allowed to continue. Jeesh, there was a time when this type of behaviour would be classed as a form of child abuse. Cafe bars, cinemas, bowling alleys etc, are being patrolled.

Not only has this country been allowed to become a hotbed for terrorism but it is also a hotbed for fanatics of medieval Islam to cruelly islamise their young.

rant off

Great story but sad, instead of trying to change a Muslim country, the whole system of asylum and immigration means people like him leave and the proportion of devout Muslims in a so called "moderate" country like Jordan, goes up. My neighborhood is getting worse, not better!

Brian of London has been actively occupying a very small slice of hideously over-occupied Tel Aviv since early 2009.

Islam is a giant bungee cord tying it's adherents to the 7th century.
They can pull themselves almost to the twenty first century but eventually the cord tightens and flings them back.
