Muslim preaches at Oxford college chapel

TWO religious leaders are claiming an historic first after an Islamic Imam preached at a Christian chapel.

For the first time in Pembroke College’s 500-year history, a Muslim, Dr Taj Hargey – from the Summertown Islamic Congregation in Oxford – was welcomed to deliver a sermon at its chapel.

The service was preceded by the Adhan, the Muslim call to prayer traditionally carried out by a man, which was read out by an 11-year-old girl from Marston.

The Rev Dr Andrew Teal, of Pembroke College, said he had been trying to get a Muslim Imam to deliver a service at the chapel for many years and he believed it was a first.

He said: “We wanted to do something which brought together Christianity and Islam, but not to create a third thing.

“I think what we are doing today is very unusual, certainly it’s the first time I have heard of it being done at the college.

“The two faiths are actually very close.

“Abraham is a key figure in both Islam and Christianity.

“But I think there’s been a reluctance in the past. I think people may have felt afraid to do something like this.

“I’d hoped for this to happen for a long time. We just needed the right man to do it.”

Christianity and Islam, as well as Judaism, are sometimes referred to as the Abrahamic religions because of the role that Abraham plays in each of the holy books.

All three faiths consider him father of the people of Israel.

During the service, in which Dr Hargey spoke of the links between Christianity and Islam, songs and Psalms from the Bible were read before a reading from the Holy Qur’an.

Dr Hargey, who is also chairman of the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford, invited 11-year-old student Nadia Zamri, from Marston, to call the congregation to prayer.

Nadia, who was one of a few pupils who was able to read the Qu’ran when she joined the school, said she was ‘excited’ about being chosen.

Dr Hargey added: “There is a nexus between Christianity and Islam. We both revere Abraham as a very important figure, a father figure. It is up to Muslims and Christians in this great city of ours to show the way for the rest of the country.”

We really need to hit this 'Abrahamic Religion scam' on the head, because the dhimmis lap it up. In fact it's number 8 of the Twelve Tactics of Taqiyya:

[8] 'Abrahamic/monotheistic faith' false kin argument.
This scam usually take the form of 'Islam is just a further development of Christianity, a brother Abrahamic/ monotheist faith.'
Of course it isn't! Islam is a travesty and perversion of Christianity in many respects, and Jesus would probably have advised the pedophile Mohammed to tie a millstone round his neck and jump into the sea. (Mark 9:42). In Islam stoning of women is still a major spectator sport, whereas Jesus forbade it (John 8:7). Human sacrifice is an abomination in Judaism and Christianity, but is encouraged in Islam.

The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies:

"The Centre's new building, situated next to Magdalen College, is within easy reach of the principal libraries, academic departments, and colleges.

This beautiful building blends the architectural features of the traditional Oxford colleges with the forms and styles of the classical period of Islam. The result is a unique symbol of the harmony between two ancient traditions of scholarship brought together for the pursuit of knowledge.

Constructed in natural stone to the highest specification the new building brings together the best features of traditional Oxford and Islamic architecture.

With its brick columns, grand arches and high dome, the Mosque provides as serene atmosphere for prayer and reflection."

Commenting on the Oxford Mosque's demands to broadcast the amplified pre-recorded wailing, Dhimmiwatch says

"The noisy call to prayer is an act of dominance and aggression. The louder it is, the better. Mosques were always supposed to be built in high ground, or in the most imposing spot, towering over churches and synagogues, in the lands first conquered by Islam. Those aggressive skyward thrusting minarets were symbols of power, of dominance. And the same thing continued wherever Islam went.

Some fail to understand that the placement of mosques, the size of mosques, the significance of minarets, and those calls or cries, now electronically amplified, are all part of a single system. That system is one by which the mosque is not merely or mainly a place of worship, but a place of community gathering... of plots and schemes. It is even -- as we see even here and there in Europe -- a place to store weapons, explosives, false papers in false ceilings -- and a place from which to fire on Infidels ...

A mosque is NOT a Muslim "church." It is a Muslim "church" and a Muslim "community center" and a Muslim "armory" and a Muslim "army recruiting center" and a Muslim everything.

The easy, and comforting, belief in the West that it is merely a "house of worship" is something that Infidels must disabuse themselves of....The muezzins wail ...would be an intolerable display of triumphalism. http://crombouke.blogspot.com/2010/01/mosque-blight.html

This is very interesting, the Muslim who spoke at the Church, Dr Taj Hargey wrote these two articles:

Oh yes, and one of the best examples being the Acropolis in athens

Parthenon Mosque

Posted Image

In 1456 CE (860 AH) Mehmet II Conquered Athens. The last pocket of resistance came from the Acropolis, before it fell in 1458 CE (862 AH). The Parthenon formerly a Pagan Temple and then a church was turned into a Mosque. No structural changes were made to the Temple, other than the addition of a minaret. Christian Paintings on the internal walls where white washed.

Posted Image

on 26th September 1687 (19th Dhul-Qadah 1098) Venition forces beseiging the Acropolis fired a cannon shot at the Parthenon. The Cannon pierced the ceiling landing in the armoury. The resulting explosion killed some 300 Ottoman soldiers and ripped the roof of the Parthenon.

Many of the ancient Greek figures where destroyed during the explosion and those that where left where smashed by a failed attempt to lower them to the ground

Posted Image

The Venitian Occupation did not last long and the Ottomans retook Athens a few months later. Inside the ruins of the Parthenon a small mosque was built on the stone slabs.

in the end mainstream christianty controlled by the pope under the catholics, will bethe offical face of christians worldwide, even if you claim to belong to the cofe or the methodists, baptist etc, you get the picture. the only churches not under controll of the pope either directly or under some form of agreement, as most of the mainstream churches have now signed. will be the small churches who belive in the holy bible as being the only truth we know about the god of our LORD jesus christ.

and thses churches who are controlled by the pope, will in the end submit to islam controled by the radical elemnts in the islamical faith. this is how the islamifaction of the world will play out, this much is told to us in the holy bible.

no is it right for christians to jointly worship with islam, under the trick of both being abrahamic faiths. well they both claim abraham as there joint root. ie brothers ishmeal(in islam corner) and issaca(in the christians corner) and that is were the link ends!!! as ishmeal was given by over by god to found a graet nation, no more that that was promised by the god of our LORD jesus christ.

now issaca, was the line by which god gave the promise of salvation was gien to abrahams seed, (ie christians) as they belived in christ/god and by this faith the will be saved. it is issaca blood line which lead to christ, with a differant mother to ishmeal, who was a servant of abraham, not his wife, who was the mother of issaca.

so there is no link to the claim of joint abrahamic faiths, as the god of our LORD jesus christ gave his promise of salvation to a desendants of abrahams son issaca, not ishmeal, as fasle teachers/satan try to claim.

and now as the core teaching of islam is to deny eveything to which the christian holds dear, which is christ, being the son ,of god, who was god, came and died of our sins on the cross, and 3 days later rose from the his grave. and with that being so as christians we have firm commands in the bible about how we should treat and deal with such people, in the bible such people are called anti christ, and the biblical respone is not to deal with them, not even to shake there hands. in short stay away from them or you will share in there sins.

so should we as christian join ing worshipping the god of out LORD jesus christ, with them, i'll leave that for each and every reader to dicde were is own heart leads him on that one.

Yeah, he's the poster boy of the "moderate Muslim" but nearly every Muslim organisation hates him. He says what Western lefty types want to hear, particularly in Oxford. Whether he believes what he says or not I don't know - he may even have convinced himself. But not other Muslims.

A row has broken out after a Christian group organised a day of prayer in Oxford about Muslims during Ramadan.

The Muslim Education Centre of Oxford (Meco) accused Witney-based Open Doors UK of preaching "evangelical propaganda", after the Christian group held a Call to Prayer day in Oxford yesterday.

But Open Doors UK, which held the event at St Aldate's Church, insisted it had been taken out of context, although it "regretted" any offence that had been caused.

Meco chairman Dr Taj Hargey was invited on BBC Radio Oxford yesterday to talk about the month of Ramadan, and was followed on to Phil Mercer's show by Brother Andrew from Open Doors UK.

Dr Hargey said: "It was only then that I learned they were running a day-long Christian initiative called Call to Prayer.

"I was flabbergasted and straight away looked at their website. The innocent sounding publicity was headlined 'A Call to Prayer', but Open Doors goes on to call Islam an 'ideology'. I was shocked by their theological self-righteousness. They assume the self-appointed task to 'pray for Muslims'.

I wonder the good self-righteous doctor is not flabbergasted when mohammedans are still hearing exhortations to murder and messages of hate in their mosques?

And he might also like to consider that he follows a man who massacred and assassinated women, children and the elderly.

Has any one heard Dr Hargey be so vocal in his condemnation of Islamist terrorism - the murder, rioting, the execution of children, or barbaric tribal practices like burying girls alive for the glory of Allah.

Religious groups in the UK are currently united against the threat of prominent atheists.

So this is just another marriage of convenience and as the blushing bride the Christian faith is going to get fcuked over by all the Muslim men.

The Christian church is selling the future freedom of all our children.
