I never knew that hairdressing had to be halal but someone is opening a halal hairdressers in Scotland!!!

http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/now-it-s-halal-hairdressing-a-snip-for-scottish-muslims-1.1063415

With its frosted windows, CCTV cameras, and tightly monitored security entrance, it is going to be one of Aberdeen's most secretive business enterprises.

So, you could be forgiven for wondering if the shop has something to hide.

Well, it does - its customers. Or rather it is the customers who want to remain hidden. For this is Scotland's first 'halal hairdressers' - a beauty salon which conforms to the strict rules of Islam; a place were Muslim women who wear the veil or headscarf can be seen uncovered without the risk of the gaze of men.

Discreet Creative Hairdressing, scheduled to open in three weeks, is the brainchild of 21-year-old Mahida Iqbal and her husband of nine months, Fueb Mieh.

The salon will be a 'man-free zone'. The frosted windows will stop any inquisitive men passing by from gawping at the clients. No-one can get in without passing through a secure buzzer entry system with CCTV. All this means that the Muslim ladies who have come for a new hair-do can remove their headscarves safe in the knowledge that only other women can see them....

Whatever next?

I bet my bottom dollar Mr Fueb Mieh will be looking through a two-way mirror and jacking off to all those ladies.

In that case it may be a good idea to invent a range of halal tissues ;)
Best hope they don't get the cut throat razor out then

I'm not pro-Halal or anything but I kind of support the idea of a Halal hairdressers. It is somewhere where Muslim women who are pressured to wear the Hijab or whatever can meet without their husbands being there.

Didn't think I would be saying something that is defending a Muslim business but here you go.

Whatever next indeed.

If ever Islamist Control wanted a discreet premises for their nefarious activities this is the one for them and with branches throughout UK business could be 'booming'.

The proprietor may have the best of intentions but she'll always be subject to will of Islamic Control. We need less secrecy and more openess.

Are they not allowed to be seen having their hair done in front of husbands? Im sure there'll be Mobile Halal hairdressers that can visit them privately, or they can organise to meet up at a home where all the women can get together to have their private pampering done by a mobile stylist. If theres 1 salon opening, there'll be a few more huindred to follow....

It's all very nice, a group where muslim women can meet without their husbands, but remember that the man is the authority in the family in islamic culture. So it's only when the man allows his woman to go...

Well for one isn't this a touch anti discriminatory?

I am trying to think of a joke regarding the Muslim equivalent of a Brazilian wax... answers on a postcode!

What is the point of them going to a salon if they are only going to cover their heads up again? It makes absolutely no sense. I hope these two entrepreneurs have both been rigorously security screened. As it has already been mentioned it could very well be a meeting ground for plotters and sympathisers.
Are there really that many muslim women in Aberdeen who want to pamper themselves? Only for a chance to have the mouse slapped off their heads if the husband doesn’t approve of the way it looks.
I just don’t get it.

Peace

I would like to add that i'm not angry about this, it just seems a bit pointless to go the effort of getting a fancy hairdo only to cover it up!
As I read this article my only response was "whatever next? where will it end?"

For fcuk's sake. Really, how hot do these mussie women think they are that men are just falling over themselves to have a peek??
Sounds like this hairdressers will be busy doing top lip waxes and goatee trims.

Halal is a way to make their comunity busness without probleme with the discrimination law.

If I make a english hairdressing and I refuse to give the job to a muslim, he will sue my to court.
If I wont te find a job in a Halal enterprise, it's impossible.

I believe the Brazilian is out this year and they've gone eau naturel, with most going for what is known as the "Old Goats Beard" effect! ;)

My worry is this hairdressers could easily be used as a front for FMG and other hideous manifestations of islam. Since what on earth is the point of having one's hair done if it's going to be squashed back under a greasy smelly burka ?
