Has the EDL ever thought of producing an official glossary of Islamic terminology that would be useful for newbies?

Those of us who have been here for some time happily use words such as taqiyya, Kafir, Ummah, sharia, abrogation, jizya, Motoons, dhimmi, apostasy, Dar al-Harb etc without bothering to explain them. But I would guess that these might be confusing to someone who is only just starting on the learning curve of 'Islamic awareness'.

Not a bad idea at all, he says not wanting to shoulder the burden personally. But, yes a great suggestion!

It's a good idea.

Usually I just google a word I'm unfamiliar with but that is a bit of a one sided thing. My memory isn't what it used to be so I can sometimes remember an islamic word but can't recall the correct meaning or, I'll know what I'm trying to convey but can't think of the word. A printable list would do it for me.(But that's just me!)

It was a good idea, so I went ahead, it was a bit of a bitch.

So now we can see what is meant by

Mufa’khathat

Mut'a
.
Muzi

Najis

Shahid

Shaitan

Shari'ah

Shirk

Siwak

I wonder if the Adm/mods would consider making it sticky so it does not get lost in the forum
