Concern over impact of cuts The Federation of Muslim Organisations (FMO) is deeply worried at the Government's decision to introduce widespread cuts. These cuts to public sector spending, totalling £81 billion, and the loss of 490,000 jobs are a matter of grave public concern and will have a disastrous effect on many thousands of people in Leicester who are already struggling to survive. These cuts will clearly have an adverse impact on Leicester and British society, with the quality of education suffering. Considering the excellent work that the police have done in Leicester, on an already limited budget, and especially in the case of the recent visit of the English Defence League to Leicester, I worry that these cuts will further stretch the police and have a negative impact. Thousands of public sector workers will face a struggle to find work when they are made redundant by these cuts due to the terrible state of the employment market at present. With the public dissatisfaction in France manifesting itself recently into widespread demonstrations, I sincerely hope that these cuts do not cause similar upheavals in Leicester and the UK. Roughly translated FMO Statement: We are concerned for our members that their benefits are going to be cut. This is an infringement of their Human Rights and is clearly a racist policy. |

They are just anticipating events like other political ideologies and trying to protect its membership, as should we. In the beginning all “war” is political. |

I have one for them. Lets not provide any translators or waste money translating documents and leaflets into a different language than English. I wonder how much money that would save? I live in Germany and don't receive or expect anything to be written in English. |

I think the FMO are worried that large numbers of Muslims will leave Britain to move to more generous countries. |

Bang on the money there mate what I find even more shocking and discracefull is that they are like you said driving flash motors but then they have the cheek to say they are "deprived" and demand more cash and if they are refused they scream diz-crim-in-ai-shun and racism.Weren't there a report published by the ehrc the other week which said a quarter of all Muslim men and three quarters of Muslim women are unemployed.I wonder why?? |
