Firstly can I say after reading this article I was sadened and sickened that people could do this to ANYONES graves!

Secondly my main point is, that I am sick to the teeth of the media saying the only reason we are going is because we are suffering from unemployment and we are taking our frustrations out on other races and/or religions. They really don't get it, do they? They really must have their heads so far up their arses they can't see the daffodils for the sh1t! It really bugs me that people are so stupid they cannot see what is going on and the imminent danger we all face!

RANT OVER! :X

Graveyard attack was an outrage

Published Date: 29 September 2010

WE are writing on behalf of supporters of Harehills Stop the War group, regarding the vandalism of Muslim graves at the local Harehills cemetery on the night of September 17.

Islamophobia, by which we mean racist prejudice against those of Muslim faith, remains a problem in this country and abroad and it is particularly sad to see it rear its head in a multicultural community like ours in such an offensive manner.

We would like to express deep sympathy for the families of those buried there whose graves were attacked that night and the hope that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

Also, we would like to express hope because many non-Muslims share the feelings of anger and offence in response to this.

This Islamophobia does not represent the real face of Harehills.

It has been our privilege to attend many meetings locally where Muslims and those of other faiths and of none, both black, white and Asian have come together to oppose both the racism of the BNP (recently defeated in the elections) and gathered at huge meetings against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In October 2009, many of us from our area marched against the English Defence League when they came to Leeds; in April 2010 400 people enjoyed a Love Music Hate Racism gig at the Leeds West Indian Centre aimed at spreading the anti-BNP message in the local elections and it is hoped that local people will also come to the forthcoming Unite against Fascism march and carnival in London on November 6.

It is a time when the problems and fear of unemployment affect many and organisations like the BNP and EDL will continue to try to deflect the anger of those who are suffering towards people of a different colour or religion.

The first attack on Muslim graves in Harehills was an offence, the second is an outrage. Let's keep campaigning to ensure that there is not a third.

I find it interesting that the tacit implication is that the perpertrators were white English and white English only !
A multiculti society apparently but only the white English could have been responsible.

Incidentally, whoever it was, white English or green Goblins they are pathetic beyond redemption. The desecration of anyone's final resting place is a sordid act.

Did anyone see the letter from Harehills Stop the War Coalition expressing sympathy for any of the war memorials that were desecrated with slogans like "Islam will dominate"?
Or do they only apologise when special people are upset?

Two very good points, well made.

When the government deflects blame from the real cause or hides the facts from us uneducated peasants it has something to hide. It's all a part of the propaganda war. Can you imaginee any UK government, Body or Service telling the truth of the real situation this country finds itself in? Can you honestly? Remove all thoughts of responsible journalism and imagine the publics' reaction to headlines such as:

Sharia Law To Be Rolled Out Throughout UK!

Organised Muslim Gangs Rape Our Chidren!

Female Circumcism Compulsary For All UK Females!

Britain To Become A FULL Islamic State!

Mosque Plans For Buckingham Palace!

All Public Bars, Cinemas, Theatres And Social Clubs To Close!

OFFICIAL: Muslims To Outnumber Ethnic British In A Generation!

Aye, if the truth were known.......

I think it is disgusting to desicrate a persons last resting place and I do hope that they catch the culperates.
Why do they always make the mistake of thinking that we are all unemployed layabouts, Like most of you I was up this morning (0430) to get to work, same again tomorrow, only 2 days work this week,(no benifits) why should I when I am capable of earning my own corn. I cannot understand people who attack us and call us mindless when we take the time and trouble to study islam many of us having read the quran so that we have an understanding of what we stand against. These people who condem us do so knowing nothing about us apart from what they read in the newspapers (even my grandson aged 10 knows better than to trust the press ) they attack us on nothing but hear say and speckulation, They do not come on the forum for debate, they do not even talk to us when they have the oppotunity and they call us mindless.

I always find it funny when the left insist on calling members of the EDL jobless, scroungers etc since they're the ones scrounging off of their rich mummy and daddys money.

Going on a University course to avoid working and spend time doing drugs and looking for some sort of cause to attach themselves too.

They're the real layabouts yet they pretend that they're working class.

I say this as a student by the way, only been at Uni for 2 days and already I've seen the unwashed idiots around :(

I might have to buy an EDL to wear there, just to see if any of the toss-pots have the balls to say anything about it :)

I have always been against militant islam and I've always raised an eyebrow at the islamist states and how they govern.

Arm yourself with a camera backpack, pinhole spy cam, long range listening device, E-Type Skoda, spy cam in your dreadlocks, don't wash or change your underwear and you'll pass student muster! ;)

I beg to differ. Not only are the majority of EDL employed, but some have such good jobs that they cannot expose themselves as supporting the movement in case it put their employment in jeopardy.

So, far from being a bunch of no mark, unemployed, work shy wasters as the article implies, I think they will find many people with a wide variety of positions and occupations, with one thing in common.. wanting to protect their homeland from radical extremists and creeping islamification

Unfortunately graves and memorials get attacked and vandalised all the time. I can't believe they used this opportunity to have a rant about the EDL and point the finger towards us. When war memorials are vandalised and have plaques stolen from them, I wonder what the reaction would be if we blamed unemployed muslims for the crime without any proof at all. I hope they catch the sick people who done this though.
