Always got on well with and liked sikhs. One of my closest friends when I was a kid was a sikh, Gurdeep. Came over from Uganda when Idi Amin deported all Asian people in the 70s. Sadly he died not too long ago of a brain tumour. Top man he was. As an aside my favourite restaurant is the oldest family run Sikh restaurant in London, The Punjab in Covent Garden WC2, been there since 1952. Give it a go, you may have to reserve if it is a weekend. Excellent food, not just a spit and sawdust curry house I promise you. |
