Two Guinean asylum seekers have been ejected from a secondary school after teachers discovered they were in their 20s.The men had been attending classes alongside pupils as young as 13 at Acklam Grange school in Middlesbrough for a year before their real ages were discovered.

One, who was studying in year 11 and has now be revealed to be 23, had allegedly struck up a relationship with a 14-year-old girl at the school.
The other is understood to be in his early 20s and was studying in year 9, alongside 13 and 14-year-olds. They are now under investigation by immigration officials and may face deportation.
Teachers became suspicious following conversations with the two men, who claimed to be 14 and 15, and informed the head teacher, John Bate, who alerted the authorities.

The pair are now being investigated by the UK Border Agency and, as adults, are not protected by laws that forbid the deportation of minors.
It is the latest in a string of cases of asylum seekers lying about their age to gain access to social housing and education in Britain.

Rabad Hamad, who claimed to be 16 and was studying for GCSEs at a school in Oldham, Greater Manchester, was detained last month and now faces deportation after officials discovered he was really 20.
