Just left the town. EDL are peacefully having a drink in Wetherspoons. A few Asians at the bottom of Edwards St. Police are there in force. If it moves they are filming it.

There has been the normal anti EDL crap on twatter... A few lies but apart from there nothing else seems to be going on.

[Off topic... I'm stepping outside of twitter]

I did get a lovely reply from a twat who has no followers when I just started following Scott Lee mentioning that I was now following a BNP member :-) If that's the best they can throw up ....

MeiowMeiow: it's killing you that I don't @ reply you to my 2k followers isn't it :) I like what Scott writes here. I'm personally not a fan of the BNP but I think its only naturally that people have supported the BNP as there is no counter Jihad political option in the UK. The UK desperately needs a Geert Wilders figure.

It was a good day, met up near the station with the East Midlands gang and then the rest of the Mods/Admin, had a couple of sherbets in the Wetherspoons and on to the parade. Then back to the Spoons for an after event beer.

No trouble, however the police were out in force with cameras, came into the pub before the parade (filming) and stood outside the pub from start to finish filming.

I doubt there'll be trouble, as there must have been 200+ EDL. Nearly everybody respected the no colours before the parade (apart from one from Rowley division).

Police were driving around the town well before the event (at least from 9:30am onwards) and there were 3 riot vans parked up just outside the centre, that I saw as I left at about 1:00 - 1:15pm.

I didn't take a camera myself, but there were plenty of EDL with cameras, so we should get a few photos of the event. I hope VillaLoyal got the photo of the Muslim standing on the steps of the town hall (obviously an employee) behind the Mayor etc.

Great day, met a few more faces.
Nice to put faces to Elgreco, VillaLoyal, edl-avfc, DCFC, Road_Hog (at last) amongst others.

Never saw any trouble - on the way out, police had about 30 Muslims on the main carriageway well under control. Still loads of ours there when we left.

Good day all round, and fair play for no colours lads and lasses.

My car was at the back of the big fountain thing we passed. Where all the riot vans were.
All wheels still intact ^_^

from the Nuneaton socailist website
The EDL do nothing but distract disillusioned sections of the working class into attacking their neighbours instead of concentrating on their real enemies – the Con-Dem coalition who want to 'destroy the welfare state that workers built and rely on.'
Welfare is for people who won' or can't work and it was labour who destroyed it allowing anyone to come here and claim all and sundry. God they are just thick.
They don't like it up 'em.
Don't tell them your name Pike.
