Indonesia’s ambassador to the Netherlands Junus Effendi Habibie has told the Dutch foreign ministry he should not have said people who voted for the anti-Islam PVV may be ‘anxiety psychotic’, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.

But other comments about the PVV, made in an interview with the Financieele Dagblad, remain on the table.

In the interview, the ambassador said the planned October visit by Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhynono would be ‘very much in doubt’ if the PVV is part of the next coalition government.

‘Of course the president will not come here if there is someone in the cabinet who says Islam is backward. I do not want my president to be seen as a clown’ the ambassador told the paper.

Unwise

Foreign minister Maxime Verhagen told Nos tv that the ambassador’s words about PVV supporters were ‘unwise’.

‘I did not think it wise how he described the PVV voters,’Verhagen said. ‘An ambassador should not make comments about the electorate.’

Geert Wilders said he was pleased the ambassador had ‘grovelled’ about his ‘attack on the PVV voter’.

Indonesia is the biggest Muslim country in the world. Wilders has repeatedly called for a ban on immigration from Islamic countries.

Thanks Darren,
This stuff is good to know, We need a party like the PVV here.

How are they getting on? i heard a few weeks ago that they now have 50% of the votes and should be in parliament within weeks, has this happened yet? :)
THEY JOINED FOR MANY REASONS, TO MARCH, TO SAIL, TO FLY. THEY WENT WHERE THEY WERE POSTED, BUT NOBODY JOINS TO DIE. THEIR LEADERS TALK ON TV, WHAT ELSE COULD WE HAVE DONE? BUT THOSE LEADERS LOST NO DAUGHTERS, AND NONE HAS LOST A SON. SO HERE'S TO ALL OUR SOLDIERS WHEREVER THEY MAY BE...AND HERES TO ALL THEIR FAMILIES, I RAISE A GLASS TO THEE...WEAR YOUR POPPY WITH PRIDE.

What this article doesn't say is that Maxime Verhagen is the foreign minister in the caretaker government, until the new Government is formed. He is also in discussion with Geert Wilders party the PVV in forming the new Government, you can bet you life on it that Geert has had one or two words to say on the matter with Maxime Verhagen and Maxime Verhagen does not want this to spoil the negotiations. Geerts party is particulary noted for raising writen question in the Dutch Parliament calling for action and always ending with the word " If not why Not?"
These are the Questions asked by the PVV in the Dutch Parliament over this matter, Enjoy

1.) Have you noted the article “Visit from Jakarta despite Wilders’*, in which the Indonesian ambassador to the Netherlands, Yunus Effendi Habibie, makes defamatory statements about the alleged incompetence, the ‘hate sowing’ and ‘shouting’ and ‘barking’ of PVV leader Geert Wilders; and in which he insinuates that the Dutch who voted for the PVV suffer from a “fear psychosis”?
2.) Did the Indonesian ambassador speak on behalf of the Indonesian government?
3.) Do you agree with me that the statements by Habibie are inaccurate and inappropriate? If not, why not?
4.) Are you willing to summon Ambassador Habibie to pass on to him your dissatisfaction with these statements?

Thanks for your reply,
I hope so, I am not really into politics but this man really interests me.
Do you think it will have any effect on Geerts court case if it is sorted before then?

Geert Wilders showing how its done.

I can't wait till he forms the International Freedom Alliance!
The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.
