I have just seen the curriculum for my son's new term and near the end of the term they will be learning about the benefit's of islam which we include a visit to a local mosque (my son is 8 by the way) how fcuking dare they! I for one do not want my boy to step in to a mosque EVER! why should they encourage our children to learn about islam? The funny thing is there is no mention of going to another place of worship during the lesson's so why a mosque (i wonder?). I have told my wife that i will not alow him to go and ive got a couple of other parents that will back me nearer the time i wonder if anyone else will be brave enough to stand up against our pc liberal loving lefty school sytem? I want hold my breath knowing the people connected with the school they will say nothing. |

you do not have to send your son. There's is someplace on these forums a letter that you could use to write to the school. The crux of this issue is, are they providing equality with every religion i.e. is the school taking trips to other religious temples / churches ? Will the children be taught the good and bad bits of all religions. And of course, as a christian you can quote the 'we feel it goes against out beliefs for our son to visit a place of worship, especially where this religion calls for the death of non believers' |

Do you suppose Islamic countries send their school kids to visit Christian churches? |

Only when they're old enough not to get burnt by the flames when the rampaging mob sets them alight. |

Brian of London has been actively occupying a very small slice of hideously over-occupied Tel Aviv since early 2009. Islam is a giant bungee cord tying it's adherents to the 7th century. They can pull themselves almost to the twenty first century but eventually the cord tightens and flings them back. | |

As has already been stated, you do not have to agree to this. Teach them about Islam yourself. It will be more balanced.

Absolutely stupid, they want everyone to learn about Islam but they are not bothered about Muslims learning about other religions. The Muslims don't participate in the Nativity plays (if they still have them) or anything else non-Islamic yet they want everyone else to learn about Islam. Ridiculous. |

We had a teacher on here a while back urging parents to make a stand against this sort of thing. I'll have a look for the letter for you. ![]() Edit: sorry can't find it. |

I've got two kids (8 & 10) and would be interested to find out about the letter as there is also no way I would want my kids to set foot in such a place. In fact they go to a non church school and I'd be quite annoyed about them learning about any religion. |

i think its wrong, but what ticks me off most is that they only seem to be teaching our children about islam, what about all the other religions, are they trying to prepare them for the big embrace i wonder? my 3yr old sons school had a party to celebrate eid and made all the parents eid mubarak cards, i certainly wasn't alone when i talked to other parents about not wanting my children to learn anything about such an oppressive, undemocratic and downright brutal religion such as islam! |

Schools should keep out of religion full stop. No doubt that they will get the Taqquiya version and try to be convert them. I wouldnt even let them anywhere near it. |
