I have read a few threads on here on how EDL members have been mistreated by the police.
Roughly handled, assaulted, arrested for nothing and so on.

I would suggest the EDL copy what the lefties do, and that is get as many members as possible to carry camcorders, or use their mobiles to record any illegal acts by the police.

Not just one or two Edl members, but scores if possible, more the better.
Any EDL member seeing acts of police aggression or illegal acts by the police need to record it, even it means just using their mobiles.

Any footage of police assaulting EDL members or the police acting in an illegal way can be put up onto the Internet.
More importantly, the footage taken should be used in an offical complaint against the police.
Footage of Police asssault etc, used as evidence with an offical complaint to the police, would become a very important tool to use to protect EDL members from police wrong doing.
That is part of the reason the police seem to be so soft with the lefties, because they know they are being recorded all the time by them.

Also, record the EDL opposition, as they always record you, and put your pictures on Indymedia etc.
From experience I know the white far left hate being recorded and having their photo taken, they really crap their pants.

Seen all the so called hard men attacking the BNP in Glasgow at the Weekend?
The main ones who attacked the BNP stall in Glasgow have been identified, and take my word for it, they are in a state of nervous breakdown, with their pictures all over the Internet.
Some of them have closed their facebook accounts and are in hiding.
Crapping themselves they are going to be lifted by the OB, and there is an active investigation by Glasgow police on going.
Not to mention they are in fear they might be confronted in person, by angry real Scottish nationalist(not the leftie SNP types).

Most of them come from very privilege backgrounds, prison with all those working class people in there, would not be something they could handle, the reason they now have trouble sleeping at night.

The cam recorder in large use by the EDL, would be an effective weapon in the protection of EDL members.

definately need to catch all those typical hateful slurs used and violent outbursts by anti-fascists and millitant Muslims. just remember your on camera too. I think this is a great idea. should definately document it from the EDL's perspective. in which case the media cannot twist it to make the EDL out as the bad guys. protect yourself at all cost.

Bloody good idea that i think it has been mentioned a few times and i know a few who do record things at demos .
getting the lefties and militants faces splashed on web is a good idea .

the EDL should create a blog of shame and put up vids and pics of the things we face at demos

I had a camcorder on Sept 11th, I was asked by a few people if I was the press.
Mind you I was wearing my Cornish fleece as all my England tops are waiting for my washing machine to be fixed.
I didn't want to smell like the UAF.

Thats the only problem - people thinking your a journo, if anything like this was put in place i think we would need people with EDL vests on (like the stewards vest).

Just a thought I dont look EDL a bit to much hair So on the 9/11 in London I had no problems with the police moved in out and around the march got some photo's everyone including the police behaving if anyone had misbehaved on either side I would have nailed it and posted it. Got a few looks off some EDL but then my face is not known which is useful and allows me to mingle in other groups in future.

I wholeheartedly support the idea.

For those that remember 'the plaster cast guy' being filmed as he set about someone half his size, this was a 'set-up' situation by the unwashed to escalate tensions as the guy was teamed with a cameraman. By chance, this was caught on camera. Clearly, the 'opposition' are working in teams with cameras to set up situations that could embarrass the EDL and, by monitoring their guys with cameras (as well) we ought to be able to expose this practice as well as provide ourselves with more protection from false accusations.

(Last time I posted on this I called it 'watching the watchers' and I think someone on the furum misinterpreted what I meant (probably expressed myself badly?) and accussed ME of being UAF! I hope this goes someway to clarify my previous comments.)

Try and get to know SOME people and get them to look out for ya while you're mingling.
It's good to have people unknown to most, but known to a few.
Stay stealthy. Stay safe!

Was that for me id do it but id need to know most of my division and say let a handful from each division know what was going on, but i think the vest and camera would be better
