They deserve credit for trying, but whether they are successful is another matter.

This is exciting.

Maybe the 22,000 Dudley residents whose opinion was ignored might get their wish after all this time.

The council has always been against the Mosque and I believe they have a chance of reclaiming the land where the proposed Mosque will built

Quote:

Under the terms of a land-swap deal the council believes it has the right to buy back the site, citing a condition which said the development had to be substantially built by the end of 2008.

Well if the council stick to their guns and don't back down. They deserve a pat on the back. NS

Excellent news! I forsee a protracted battle through the couts costing a small fortune but, while this is going on, no mosque is being built! On the other hand.............there's probably a few local folk worried wether or not a ugly mosque full of wailing miuzzies will now end up on their doorstep instead! Poor souls.

Well we will see what happens won't we dudley mosque as been different to other issues we have been concerend with, like how the fcuk do you ignore 22,000 people who said no and 3,300 twats who said yes, no one has clarified the yes vote what the fcuk was the petition for in the first place. As far as i am concerend dudley councilors have probabaly been found out taking back handers of rich muslim buisnessmen. Dudley mosque should never be built the people said no so fcuk off, the same people who supported them, aint no more so tell us all why you have changed your minds, no fcukin chance the same thing is happening all over the country

retracted/deleted my post, I believe I was a little hasty and gullible in believing the councillors - shame it has come to this tho.....

I'll give them praise when they prove they aren't a bunch of lying so and so's.

Ah.....that feels better :)

I take a different view. The council seems to have lied all along and has released PR statements at opportune times, to try and diffuse opposition.

If the EDL are going back to Dudley as their Midland demo, then this is probably a ruse to take the 'heat' out of it and support from locals.

Let's see what happens in a couple of months, when we hear the DMA final planning has been approved and the council meekly say, that there is nothing that they can do and have decided to use the legal money put aside, to be used on good causes, i.e. bribe the public and make them think that they've had a windfall.

A blot on the landscape if ever there was one. Pity the poor sods who live in the vicinity of that eyesore. Good luck Dudley you will need it.

You make a fair point RH. The Council misled everyone regarding the real Mosque situation before and it may turn out that they are just doing the very same thing again. Needs watching.

I agree they lie so much they probably don't know what the truth is now!

I can't get my head round this??
22,000 people said no
3,300 said yes,
Once more,
22,000 said no
3,300 said yes

And they listen to the "community" do they? Well in my informed opinion, no they fcuking don't.
This monstosity should not be built, how much more are we going to take before we fcuking snap?????

What, with planning for the mosque now in serious question, face vails being objected to, halal slaughterhouses retuturning to humane slaughter methods is there the slightest glimpse of hope that, slowly but surely, islamic ways are quietely being questioned? Isolated incidents surely, but are some people starting to realise that islam can be stood up to?
